For your next Tampa long layover, I highly recommend making the trip over the bridge to Downtown St. Pete. You could easily make a day of it. There are several museums, shops and great restaurants. If you can make it on a Saturday, there is a morning market from 9a-2p. I would also encourage you to make a pit stop at the Pier for a great view of the bay, and grab a drink at Pier Teaki. Downtown St. Pete is walk able but they also have scooters you can rent. If you prefer to stay on the Tampa side of the bridge, I suggest a stroll along the Riverwalk to Armature Works. Also, if you are craving an acai bowl, Grain & Berry makes the best. They have several locations in the Tampa Bay area.
Probably a good call to skip Clearwater, in addition to the Uber fees you would have likely sat in a lot of traffic, especially on a Saturday. The beaches at Clearwater are great, definitely worth a weekend trip sometime. This state gets quite crowded during the winter months...Snowbirds, vacationers and gymnastics/volleyball/field hockey/soccer teams all coming down for tournaments to get away from the Northern cold!

another suggestion for next time you have a long TPA overnight would be St. Pete! I love the Dalí Museum and the surrounding area is super cute too. Cassis is a lovely little French bakery and restaurant near the museum, and there's another art museum in that area that I can't remember the name of. Oxford Exchange is a pretty cool restaurant in Tampa too!
Hey Julia, this was a great vlog. Loved the style and idea of the weekend narrative. I relate alot to being frustrated by not being able to sleep. In the past loop earplugs really helped me out in those situations.

Hi Julia! Next time you come to Tampa, I’d recommend cypress point park - it has a baby beach, plenty of walking trails, and gorgeous place for a sunset. Midtown Tampa has lots of restaurants and shopping. It’s about 5 mins apart from each other. The park is about a good 10 mins from downtown Tampa depending on traffic :)

If you're here in Tampa on a day when this is offered, a ferry can take you from downtown Tampa to downtown St. Pete, and over there you could visit museums, restaurants with tables on the sidewalks, and the historic Vinoy hotel and resort. And if get a car and want a peaceful day at the beach, a one-hour drive to Fort Desoto Park will almost guarantee calm seas and uncrowded beaches. Thank you for your videos!

If you ever go to New York again and have time, and if you like Jazz, I would highly recommend going to Dizzy's Club if there's a gig there, or two. If there's a Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra gig at Rose Hall, I would also highly recommend going if you have time. It's all at Broadway & W 60th St (Columbus Circle).

I have family in the Tampa area, there is one beach in Tampa called Ben T Davis Beach. It’s like 3miles from TPA airport and although it’s definitely NOT Clearwater Beach, it’s a BEACH! It certainly wouldn’t cost you $57 to get there either. Probably maybe 10 bucks tops. Keep it in your back pocket for future travels.
My recommendation is to go to Hyde Park it’s really quaint it’s beautiful with shops, restaurants and so much more, also go to the international Plaza. I know you may not like to shop but it’s a high-end shopping mall which is close to Hyde Park as well. There’s so much to do in Tampa besides the beach.

I am a Tampa native and I can recommend 2 beaches. Anna Maria Island in Bradenton and Siesta Key in Sarasota. Both are an hours drive from Tampa but 1000xxx better than Clearwater. The best place to hang out in Tampabay is Downtown St. Pete. Central avenue is full of restaurants.
You are so brave to be a flight attendant! I'm in my 30s and I cry like a baby any time I have to get on an airplane. My fear is so bad I even get free alcohol pretty much on every trip. For some reason, my fear of flying gets worse as I get older. Any tips to help those who have a major fear of flying?
That's so funny you were in Tampa I was just there last week so I must've just missed you! Defiantly gotta visit Clearwater if you can get there it's very beautiful or if you like to gamble they have a Hard Rock Casino there which is very nice! Unfortunately though the day I went to Clearwater it was very windy that day and the rip currents were surprisingly strong but the rest of the time I was down there the weather was great in the mid 70s-low 80s and low humidity. Sorry that it was cloudy when you were there but at least it was nice and warm out. You never know Florida with weather especially this time of year lol.

When I visited Tampa, some local friends introduced me to Armature Works for variety food court meal choices and then a stroll along the Riverwalk.

Unfortunately though the day I went to Clearwater it was very windy that day and the rip currents were surprisingly strong but the rest of the time I was down there the weather was great in the mid 70s-low 80s and low humidity. Sorry that it was cloudy when you were there but at least it was nice and warm out. You never know Florida with weather especially this time of year lol.

@@RustySax1949 it's a rose, I got it in January! I loveeee roses, always have. My sister has a lotus flower tattoo on her right forearm. There's a huge rose theme in some of my favorite books so that's part of it too.
