I fell in love with a Xaku 265% Range + Ensnare build. Xata Whisper doesn't work on Sobek but everything else does. Ensnare + Gaze + Sobek = GG. Ensnare and Gaze have a cool
interaction, Gazed enemies can be used for Ensnare and Ensnared enemies can be used for Gaze, you can use a single enemy as a choke point and armor strip at the same time!

For secondary weapon Exilus slot, Reflex Draw is a good QoL mod to have incase you want to tighten spread and go for headshots. I'm also using galv accel on sobek for fall-off.
Sucks the LOS is bugged alongside it only redirecting 18% enemy HP without faction damage on Steel Path :/
Yerp, that LoS bug is honestly quite ridiculous on how apparent it is when using it. I'd have to occasionally kill multiple enemies to even get acid shell to hit anything at all and show damage numbers to start with.

I manage to get a kuva sobock with 46% electric is this a good one ?
There is another bug that happened in the past. I don't know if DE fix it or not. That is the 45% hp scaling is scaled on base HP. That means it will be less than 45% with the steel path modifier. The bug is listed in the “Notes” section in wiki.
Maybe you can make a commentary on it, but in the wiki, the following is mentioned about the Acid Shells augment,
"The explosion damage only takes Base Health into account and therefore is ill-suited for Steel Path or Archon Hunt, as those and similar modes feature increased Health, but not increased Base Health."
Does this hold true in testing?
It does hold true, but is not usually a big issue in Steel Path (no reason to use this in Archon Hunts), due to access to viral procs, and overlapping AoE procs. The LoS issue is much more significant of a problem atm.
what elements to pick if i have corrosive+viral (augment + subsume) strenght saryn ? im thinking magnetic progenitor + radiation mod + coro/electric mods + shotgun vendeta just to have more statuses for galvanized but idk :D maybe overkill
also magnetic may be more important in the future ? but then i have toxic lash so ...
That works, just that +1 or even +2 elements for GunCO doesn’t really change much at the end of the day. Also, because progenitors do not really change how you mod or build the sobek family, you are technically free to use whichever one you want and still finish the working build. This is assuming you aren’t including crits.
Given the atypical ways Sobek scales, what would you be looking for in a Riven for base Sobek to outperform the new Kuva variant? Things like Toxin + PT + MS/Dmg? Would that impact Arcane choices?
That kind of role would let it pass the Kuva variant. Arcanes are basically merciless, blight, and vendetta. MS rivens make blight even less worth running, when it is already heavily diluted by GalvMS and the new augment. Vendetta still has the insane reload speed, but you can already get chilling reload + merciless to cut it down to 1.2s. Base variant would get enough PT from riven to replace Seeking Fury if slotted, so you can have much higher upfront damage, as well as on Saryn setups, scaling Lash further. There really aren’t that many perfect roll choices, just “good” rolls in general since the sobek already has pretty much all it wants.
Toxin Bane PT/Reload since Bane is the only thing scaling Acid Shells and Toxin if Saryn Lash. This combined with 3 +45 tox dmg green shards 1 bullet kills lvl225 Exo Officers in Simul (no armor strip)
Justice effect mods on Sobek and Hek would do something in future if blast gets a good rework.
Sobek is still my most used Primary by percent at 5%, despite not using it for going on a decade, even after it eventually got Acid Shells.
Glad we finally got an upgraded version in Kuva Sobek. It is a shame that this is less of a pick-up-and-play weapon, and needs more of a dedicated build, but.. maybe the new Augment will change that.

Looks cooler tho, I actually like it for riven dispo alone, as odd as it sounds, since my riven has dmg/ms/cold with neg (99%) SC, so Kuva variation actually has use for riven :D
That riven is better on your regular sobek.
@@hothstorm I use it on regular sobek ye, for status build (irony considering they last like half a sec) I'll probs still use it on kuva for hybrid, since regular sobek cant really crit :D

lil surprised you didn't mention primary blight on the Saryn sobek build tho. from what I understand it generally outperforms merciless atm. tho that may flip once the augment is in our hands, as that will devalue additional multishot sources
I actually forgot to explain it, but yea, like the full strip section, the reason I went for Merciless on Saryn was due to the upcoming augment. Though Blight still works very well regardless even post-augment.

Honestly doubting we'll see a acid shell fix soon... So yea. The augment is also hot garbage, because the Strun still has it's bugged incarnon form making it the unparalled status shotgun and thanks to the incarnon adapter is a red crit weapon at the same time, as well as aoe on top.
Like, even with doubled or tripled stats on that augment, the Strun is in another realm of existence entirely.
