  • Shows how to use Excel to implement Euler's Method for approximating the solution to a first-order ordinary differential equation, and then shows how to graph the exact and approximate solutions on Desmos.com. This video replaces an earlier version, which did not use Desmos.com.
This video is intended as a sequel to Euler's Method (Numerical Solutions for Differential Equations) by Houston Math Prep. The Houston Math Prep video can be found here: • Euler's Method (Numeri...

I wasn't able to attend my differential equations class one day and you explained what could've taken a hour in 10 minutes! thank u!!

You are welcome. I hope you also watched the Houston Math Prep. They explain the ideas behind what we are doing on Excel. It is good to know both the how and the why.

Do I have to type E$1? Why can't I just type E1 in the function?

When you copy that cell down to all the cells below it, you want it to keep using the value of h that is stored in E1. You don't want it to use E2, E3, E4, etc.
