  • This is a review of all of the types of mathematics you will need to know to pass the CFA exams. Aside from 3 or 4 topics, most of the math will likely be review of high school and college algebra or statistics. Combing through my notes from all 3 CFA exams reveals many types of formulas that you may not realize are tested by the CFA. It is good to know what type of math knowledge you need to pass the CFA exams, because you will be able to best budget your time studying based on your math background.
    If you have an idea of something you want me to cover in depth, please let me know because I take your requests seriously. Will be back with more CFA Exam tips in a couple of weeks so please submit more questions you would like to hear answered. Love you all!

    As I remember SEE SSE and MSE are part of the regression analysis (ANOVA) in quants.

    I'm an MBA and CMA, and thought about doing the CFA, but was fatigued from my previous standardized testings... I decided to take on the CQF (Cert. Quant Finance) cert --- if you're not a Phd Maths, good luck.... I'm in stochastic differential equation hell...... lol

    The only Math I went through was statistics. I seem to have made it through Highschool and College without needing Statistics. I even got an Economics minor without it. Only Calculus was required. I went through CZcams and basically learned statistics when studying for level 1. I think the only thing that helped, was I was pretty strong in Algebra.

    Could you do a collab video with MJ the Actuary to both compare the Actuarial vs CFA paths in terms of getting the qualifications and the actual workspace e.t.c.
    It would be useful for your channel as he has a fan base, and it would be useful for his because you're a CFA in a different continent, so you could both give useful perspectives for potential CFA and actuary charter holders

    Hey AJ, I'm a bit late to watching this vid but I'd love to know, are the math concepts needed similar for the CFP exam? I'm taking college algebra rn and it is a bit hard for me but I'm guessing it would be easy for me 10 years from now when I take the test.

    I am very average in calculating Maths problems and Quant was the toughest one for me to understand and study , I just gave my Level 1 in Dec ....What can i do in order to improve my mathematical knowledge as i am not from Maths or Science background....I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD SUGGEST ME SOMETHING

    • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323
      @straighttalks-ajsrmek323  Před 3 lety +1

      If quant is the toughest section for you, then you can definitely improve on this! Many intro statistics classes cover things like probability math and hypothesis testing. Being better with some of those concepts will help a lot in the CFA program. Free CZcams videos can go far here.

    Hi Aj I hope you are good. Since you talked about these things can you make a video on like practical application of hypothesis testing and other statistical measures. Since what I got to.see is that cfa curriculum provides alot of theoretical knowledge but doesn't explain too well their practical application.

    • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323
      @straighttalks-ajsrmek323  Před 3 lety +1

      Its a good idea, but I don't do any hypothesis testing in "real" life so I can't speak to this too well.

      @agamdeepmalhotra6955 Před 3 lety

      @@straighttalks-ajsrmek323 not exactly hypothesis testing. Other topics as well. Any topic/topics of your choice that you find that is practically most used. Because reading curriculum does not tell exactly how things are used in real life.
