I've had my 300LS for a few months now and absolutely love it! As a shorter rider (5'9" w/ 32" inseam), it really fills me with confidence that I can flat foot on a dual sport. For those wondering, yes it's about 2" lower than the standard L, but the LS only comes in this grey (which I think is better anyway). I actually own this 300LS and ride with someone who has a 300L, we've disassembled the rear suspension of both to compare, they are basically equivalent in spring rate, just with 10mm shorter travel on the LS. We put a K-tech on the 300L, new front spring and heavier oil. I'm 135# and have preload set to max and it still has slightly too much rider sag (~35%), still debating a rally raid level 1 shock with remote preload. I don't know of any replacement front springs that are shorter but I've read that the rally raid level 1 front kit might fit.
Can anyone explain to me how do you tell the difference between the standard and low seat models please as the graffics on both models just say 300L? I appreciate that one is 2 inches lower than the other in the flesh but there must be a way to tell them apart without a side by side comparison or what a dealer tells you. I know its not the colour as some have stated on Utube because the grey is available in both heights. It seems we just have to take the presenters word on it unless it's badged as such somewhere on the bike? Thanks

Is the suspension as spongy as the full size 300L?

It's the seat height. The LS is shorter, plus the color of plastics.

In the United States the standard height model is red. And the ABS is also read in the standard height model. The low is this grey.
