Listening to our new friend (and awesome guy) Joe Bourgeois play slide guitar and sing Blues standards was a special treat. Joining him on stage for a couple of songs at the end of his set was an even bigger treat.

The second song we played with Joe was Statesboro Blues. I loved the instant camaraderie we established with Joe from the start. When I (Andy) attempted to go in search of a beer Joe told me what he tells the kids on his bus - "Sit Down". The best part of Homebrew Music is these relationships.

Thank you. I love playing with these guys. Joe Bourgeois and Adam Mantovani just put out a collaboration album called "When I Feel Welcome". It's beautiful. If you look around, you can find a great podcast they appeared on discussing the album.

Sometimes we cover originals, sometimes we cover covers. With Joe, we figure we're usually getting pretty close to the source. With his love for the material, he can turn anyone into a Blues fan.

@@Jim-cl5ed considering this is the first time these people ever played together, and Statesboro Blues is not remotely in the Lions repertoire, I think it came together rather well.

I think it was a pretty good cover, after all these guys are not professional musicians, but some people will always be HATERS Hating because they cannot play a single note or strum a chord, but will criticize anthing, !!!!!!!

@@nutindoin2 I'm cool with the comments, nothing particularly rough. I like that people are engaging. Technically we are professional musicians - people pay us to play. Most of us are not full-time professional musicians. We're weekend warriors.
