How do you like the Dragon Quest anime compared to the games? If you're a new fan like me, how are you enjoying the show so far?
The main reason why I like dragon quest is because of the adventure of dai even tho I'm a fan since the 90's I was never fully into the games unlike the anime & manga of the adventure of Dai tho which I like a lot more !! I can't wait for the new game of dragon quest: Dai(infinity strash) this year !!

Dragon Quest Dai Manga is one of the best manga ever created. This anime remake is the true adaptation to that, and it is absolutely beautiful. The flashy spells and fights captivated me when I was younger, but nowadays, I find that the true magics of DQ are the story telling and character development. It has some pacing issue, but the overall production level is excellent.

As someone who's been playing the games pretty much my whole life, I couldn't agree more. Many of the games also start in a similar vein of a black and white morality which later has characters question why things are the way they are. Great video! Hope more people will give the series a shot.

As a massive fan of the dragon quest games, I been wanting to give it some time to ramp out some episodes. Nothing better than binging a good show. 4-5 episodes is just a tease. But after this video, I'll give it a shot!
Edit: the spell names are actually like that in the games. Frizz is fire, zap is lightning, and crackle is ice. There's more, but that's the basic ones. For an easy reference, smash Bros character hero can give insight to potential moves for the future of the anime.

Woow thanks for talking the time to promote dq dais adventure we all appreciate it. Dragon quest pre baran arc is amazing but after, every arc is above average in terms of story telling. My favorite aspects of this show has to be the character development and fight build up. Characters good and bad develop naturally and do things that you won't even expect, it's outright unpredictable and not forced. Since this is an RPG anime when a character learns something new, obtains something and grows stronger it really helps increase the tension and impact of the upcoming battles I'm eager to see your opinions later on!!!

As someone who hasn't played the game, this show is well done shonen series. And I love how each characters have different and unique designs.
And the fight scenes are amazing with how they combined 2d and 3d animation, which toei has used recently in Dragon ball Z resurrection F.
Also, Dai and Maam are my favourite characters from this show and I hope they release the dub or a new movie.

the Dai no Daibouken is as underrated as the main franchise, its main game doesn't sell like hotcakes in the West, meanwhile it's very popular in Japan

Great Video Bro! I don’t really care for the games as I’m not really an RPG guy but I loved the anime so much that I read the manga a few months ago from start to finish & it was absolutely amazing!! The pacing in the beginning is a little fast compared to the manga but only cause it was already done in the old 1990’s anime which stopped at the 1st baran fight & even then the pacing is still objectively very good imho!

I remember watching the anime adaptation of the manga when I lived in Mexico in '95 or so. It wasn't a full run, though, it cut off after... I'm not sure which season, just that once the finale hit the following day had episode 1 air like nothing happened.

This anime is amazing, gives me similar feels to when I watched dragon ball or future boy conan type vibes. When I first started watching it I didn't think much of it. But it was great, dai was a great character from the start. It introduced a cool set of characters with an awesome twist about the hero. However it is not without it's flaws. This show has immense plot armor, especially for Hyunckel. So many instances of him contradicting what he should be able to do at the time according to the narrative, and even survives being completely submerged in lava for no reason. All I think of when I see him is plot armor plot armor, author just wants him to always be present to be a BA. Aside from this, they always jump from fight to fight without much down time for the cast between, and the fights can be underwhelming and drag on, and sometimes it seems like a super powerful spell barely hurts a weak character. However it is still well worth the watch with the subtle romance, twists, main character, villains, and over all lore and story. Was well worth the watch.

This is like the perfect shonen inho. The only thing I can fault it for is a fair few deus ex machina moments and cliche tropes. But considering how old the manga is, I can't really call those faults.
I saw and early anime of this (92 here no less and subbed) I loved it but the subs ran out and well I am getting the manga its the reason not this remake I wouldnt mind checking out too

I found this on tiktok. It was the flash back of hyunckel being adopted my the skeleton dude with 6 arms. Needless to say fell in love with the show immediately finished season 1 in 2 days ready for next season
I’ve recently bought Dragon Quest Adventures of Dai off from eBay and reached up to 20 episodes so far, and I still love and enjoy the series. Crocodine and Hyunckel won me over and became my personal favorite characters. I’m definitely going to have fun binge watching every episode since I own it now. I knew that DQ would be based off the 90s version even though I’ve not once saw the 1991 version. This series deserves more love than ever.

Criminally underrated doesn't even cover it I think it's the best anime out right now. Better than Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Attack on Titan but I know I'm the only one that would probably go that far in saying how good it is. I know for sure when it's done I'm buying the entire blu-ray dvd set or some digital format of them.
It’ll end up in my top 5 by the time it’s over, I can say that much.

@@ShonenOuji Yeah but the 1991 version in the anime ended in middle of the destiny arc which is right after the end of the first fight between Dai & Baran, tbh they didn't had choice to end it there at that time tho cuz the old anime was getting ahead of the manga since the manga only ended in 1996 tho while the old anime ended in 1992...

I grew up watching the original or classic anime back in 1996 and I always wanted toei to finish it and when they announced the remake I was absolutely happy and today is the end of this magnificent anime, I'm happy and sad at the same time we got to finally watch it to the end.
It's too bad everyone else hated it for being a remake.
Which makes me glad my first introduction to anime back in the 2000's was the ones on Jetix and Toonami I watch on Saturdays growing up, don't get me wrong, I do respect to the classic anime that I discover alot like Saint Seiya and Macross (*Robotech.) but usually the problem I have with classic anime was the purist fans and their negative attitude towards newcomers.

Dragon quest might be like Digimon, Detective Conan, Pokemon, probably also stuff like yugioh or beyblade.
Non seasonal shows, almost everyone (even people who don't watch anime) knows what it is just by the title alone do to the history of the franchise, big budget due to their merchandise and people not talking a lot about it because It's not a short show they can binge and has a high impact in a small frame of time (during a month maybe?)
Or at least that's how social media seems to work in terms of popularity in entertainment.
But yeah, it's also a bit sad.

Dragon quest (2020) anime is very powerful and beautiful anime but is so underrated.Dai is 12 years and is Planet-large star level booster,so if he was 18-20 year in future definitely is Galaxy to universal

Havent finished yet but so far I think it falls victim to the shonen tropes too much like the exposition and mc randomly getting power ups right before hes about to lose. Its the same problem I have with demon slayer, on the good side tho it has Toriyamas classic monster designs from the games, I like the characters and the animation and the fight scenes are awesome. I just think the writing imo is not all that good but Its entertaining enough for me to keep watching lol

The manga isn’t known because it’s out of print which was due to the author taking a hiatus.
It has 16 volumes in Japan
but 12 volumes in USA which
are out of print.

the reason why he loves it is the reason why I hate it. to me it try's to do classic Shonen and modern Shonen an fails at both leaving me with a what was that I just watched feeling. most people who like one or to Shonen anime like me would say this is barely passible if you agree don't comment is the rule of the internet. if you like all Shonen this is a hidden gem well worth the watch because of the different types of people who watch Shonen I can see why its rated what it is. if you like things like Magi or things like Hunter x Hunter or dragonball there is nothing hear for you ok in magi there is a class system with harsh truths of the world right up front same for hunter x hunter and dragonball but with this I mean really its all the demon kings fault scapegoat much an the ones who see through this lie are the villains an the main is just that dumb making it hard to watch its more than likely true that most monsters had nothing to do with it an where roped. into it. by the demon king but one would think over half of them went willingly to the demon kings side. it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth like watching to many one peace episodes if your looking for that feeling of vegetable brain one episode should do it.
