There are so many technically gifted guitarists today. Yet there are few musicians who can move people through their music. Gary was one of the few: He always did his best and put his mind and soul into what he was playing. In my opinion, he was absolutely one of the best guitarists that ever lived. Thank you, Gary, for the wonderful music.
That's why i am saying that Jimi Hendrix is not the greatest guitar player of all time, skilled yes but there are other guitar player's out there that play's better.

The man had so much alcohol in his body that his heart exploded and he was bloated had a ton of water weight just imagine all the sugar, he had in his body the man literally drank himself to death anxiety and depression can make a person ignore warning sign's

His ability to continually ascend and climax with each and every shrieking bend is astounding, not to mention his superlative technique and combination of tempo and dynamics. I got turned on to Gary later in life but he has become my favourite Guitarist He moves me every time i hear him play I missed seeing him live but am so grateful for pieces like this. What we are watching here is a master of his art . My all time best guitarist . I’ll never be able to play like him . I’m from Ireland and grew up listening to him. There has been no one to this day make a guitar cry like him . I try to play his music but will never be able to do it like him. Sadly sadly missed and never to be replaced . Saw a bunch of great covers of this song. Saw a lot of great guitarists doing their best to reach what this song deserves when it comes to emotion and melody. Saw a lot of different techniques applied, but no one, I repeat, NO ONE can encapsulate this level of emotion. Even if it's not exactly like the studio version, even with this amount of different licks... Man, no one on this earth can do it like him. We all miss you so much, Gary. Rest in peace.
Saw Gary in Hannover, 1992 and it was the first time I'd seen him. Expected rock, got the Blues and a keyboard player (yes I know who it was), but the fifty minutes he was on were worth the ticket. The man was always fantastic live. Didn't realise at the time that the Les Paul on the stand down-stage was the Peter Green guitar, so I guess that's another precious memory.
Everytime I hear this, I'm floored by the musicianship of his skills, his band is phenomenal in their own right, yet they stay in their lane humbly, honorably and allow the amazing Gary Moore to have the spotlight because he is a once in a lifetime gentleman and musician, that Saleiri would call ....." like a greedy songbird "...... from Amadeus movie. Surely, God has blessed the strings since the days of King David playing the lyre as a lowly shepard boy for King Saul, amen.
My favorite guitar player. Someone once told me my vibrato sounded like Gary Moore. I had never heard of him so the guy told me to pick up the SGTB cd. Wow. I realized what a huge compliment he had given me.

God bless his soul, what an immense player. One of the very few musicians who could be equally at ease with a sentimental slow ballad or with the meanest up-tempo hard rock or even jazz-rock, at any speed playing only meaningful notes loaded with feeling. A very rare gift, unfortunately.
I've played guitar for over 35yrs at a pretty high level but there are just some songs I won't jamm along to. This is defo one of those masterpieces that should just be left alone. God bless Gary and thank you.

Yeh the weight gain in him was shocking. Didn't stop him playing as well as he'd ever played though. One of the all time great guitarists.
