  • My first ever session from Birmingham Moor Street and despite the weather, it was an enjoyable few hours. Filming took place on a midweek morning from 10:00 to 12:30. Highlights for me were the two class 68s.

Verdict: The station is easy to navigate. Trains come at regular intervals, so there is not too much waiting. Certainly worth a visit as an alternative to New Street, certainly the architecture of the station is worth a look and mostly a lot quieter.

They have done a remarkable restoration job at Birmingham Moor Street, signage from a previous era, with fingers pointing the directions is like going into a tine warp, especially with the modern rolling stock passing through and calling!! Inevitable comparisons with the modern Snow Hill one stop away continue to be made!

I very much liked the ambiance of Moor Street, the station doesn't feel as if it is in the middle of the city intill you look beyond the station. It felt safe and a relaxed enviroment for watching trains. Thanks for commenting.

Why were the lights flashing on the Class 68? Great video as always!

Good question, Danny! and I honestly don't know, I have seen this before. Maybe someone can answer 🤔. Thanks for watching.
