This and Moto Racer were my favorite bike games at the time. Rigorously played with keyboard, because the flight stick I had was accurate, but the dead zone was abysmal, having to steer all the way to turn (at the time I didn't want to risk with setting and I had no idea what a dead zone was).
In PC shops I always saw the Sidewinders (especially the FF types, can't remember if the pad had any) with envy. Good thing nowadays all you need is XINPUT and every pad has force feedback...as much as two rolling weights in the pad's handles can give as feedback.

@@norkshit I don't know how to put it but back in a day open world games or even the ones that were linear still felt more open and full of life then compared to today's games.
One example, I still to this day find San Andreas the ''biggest'' GTA ever because on top of lots of features the map aka world is full of attention to details and is well designed. GTA5 falls flat, it have allegedly a big map but feels more like I am exploring a neighborhood and not 4 cities so as wilderness. Everything is so linear and stupidly designed. The most you drive on are highways and main roads, there was always zero reason to go anywhere else. Plus the limited speed of vehicles feels like I am driving a Fiat500 and not a sportscar ... Everything about GTA5 it is just dumb.
SA might be clunky by today's standards but it actually have damn content and a world to play with...

Yes! I still have my old 98 SE disc from the Dell Dimension XPS 450 that my parents got way back in 1998/1999 or whatever. The AoE:RoR demo was just three campaign scenarios that actually never made it into the full game as far as I'm aware, but the second one could be played as a sort of 1v1 map due to how it was laid out, so long as you didn't mind the AI not really being smart enough to attack you.
Between the AoE:RoR, Microsoft Pinball, and Motocross Madness demos, my early teen years were set until I ended up using my allowance to buy Unreal Gold, followed by Unreal Tournament 99 and The Sims, among others, all of which I also still have the original CD-ROMs for. Wow you really brought me back with this one. My dad wasalways bringing home big box PC games for me to play, and these sounds take me straight back to sitting in my dad's home office while he worked and played this game for hours (along with Monster Truck Madness and a variety of others). Loved this game and nothing beats that out-of-bounds effect.
