This is the first time we have done this challenge. This video is good for anyone looking for money saving tips, shopping on a budget, anyone conscious of the cost of living or their financial situation, cheap groceries, or anyone just trying to save money, as it will help with making money! P.S. if Jojo gets as tall as Sam we won't be seeing much more Trolley Twister. When I had my own growth spurt around Jojo's age I couldn't Ice skate any more. I LOVE watching you go to Roger’s. Could you go a bit slower to see more that they have. Hard to focus on things as you go past. I find it so interesting. Wish they had in Canada too. A case of 12 canned pop is now $7.28 to $7.49. Crazy prices. I love that you are able to get smaller pkgs of salad too. Cheaper fruit and veg. Love you guys and your happiness.

Totally agree I live in clacton too this would put some shops to shame here.
So much food with best before date in 2022 and 2023. I only purchase items with less than 6 month out of date for freshness.
Well I am sorry but with lots of food, especially processed food, it isn’t fresh anyways, so it would not matter if it was out of date 6 months or a year.
Also, I worked at a pretty famous bakery company, which made things like muffins, brioche and things like that. All of the food had a best before date of exactly ONE YEAR, however, depending on the country in which they sold the goods in, they would put a shorter date on there so people thought that it was fresh (it was full of preservatives and would not go bad for AT LEAST a year but they put something like a month as „best before date“ on there so that people weren‘t suspicious that it was good for so long).
So that is just a heads up, you are likely beeing fooled by lots of companies doing the same thing.
Also, „best before“ means best before and not „toxic by“, so it is best to just rely on looking, smelling and maxbe tasting a bit of the food to detemine if it is still good.
But please don’t throw things out because they aren‘t „fresh“ anymore because there is a high chance that those were never really fresh in the first place!
(Of course This doesn’t apply to things that actually go bad quickly, like fruit etc.)

I was inspired to go to rogers but I looked up where the nearest one is to London and it's ridiculously far away.
They should have one just outside greater London, but maybe the rents are too high for warehouses in that area. I reckon with the cost of living crisis and the right marketing lots of people from the city would go.

they are doing any prime 4x12 bottle cases for £10 in my local discount place i cant believe people where paying £20 a bottle last year

Hi Katie, Bob and JoJo, Wow! wish we had shops that sell discounted foods this cheap in New Zealand. We have one but it’s not that big and not a great deal cheaper than a supermarket. An average supermarket shop for me and hubby is around $200.00 a week. Food is expensive here

Good for people who would actually eat from there, but I’m extremely fussy with dates. As soon as it gets to midnight after the date on my food, it all gets thrown out. I must chuck around £3O worth of food out per week
We understand how you fell with the dates. In our experience all of the Roger's products that have been past the sell-by date but before the use-by date have always been good for consumption 😊

I have been to rodgers its hit and miss i guess sometimes you can find a bargain some times nothing but entirely up to you and what you like

The price of a 12 pack of Prime at Rogers (5:06) is more than Heron Foods
Heron Foods is selling a 12 pack of Prime for £4, or 3 for £10
Sell by dates; not used in the UK but can be in other countries.
Use by dates; these are often found on fresh foods, meat & dairy that can go bad, they are for food safety. (Roger's doesn't sell these).
Best before dates; are about quality and not safety. After the best before date listed on a product, the food will be safe to eat but may not be at its best. These are the date Rogers refers too. items can be sold after the BB dates however they can not be guaranteed to taste look or smell exactly the same as the day they were packaged.

Do you ever stop to take a good look at the ingredients like E numbers, preservatives etc thats in the food you are buying, before you buy it, to see just how healthy it is first?

Hi Ann, this was filmed recently. Roger's tend to do stock that is past the sell-by date but not the use-by date, so is still good for consumption. That's why they sell it as such a low price, and in our experience it has still always been good 👍

Did you pay VAT on all you bought too . As going to tell my shop keeper as it be handy for him as he tries different range of products but tries to keep prices reasonable for his customers . For the cans of coffee that be up his street as he just sells Costar or Starbucks .

Hi Faye, yes, in general it tends to be products that have passed the sell-by date but not the use-by date, so they are still good for consumption. You always get stock that is out of season e.g. Christmas themed, and also excess stock that maybe wasn't selling
