  • This week’s Flower School LIVE will be a recap of the AIFD Symposium. It was grand fun to see so many Tulip friends in Orlando. Nine (Yes, 9!!!) Tulips were inducted this year. We are so proud of you. Join us Wednesday, July 17th at 3:00 Pacific Time as we share a bit of what we learned during this creative week of flowering fun.

Loved the upright first design. Spray painted monsterio leave looked amazing. Fresh and silk mix yes. I did dancing with bling as an assignment at collage in ‘08

Hello Kimmy! We absolutely love the idea of dancing with bling. That sounds fabulous in every way. The color enhanced monstera leaves are unique and so eye catching and the effect is beautiful indeed. Mixing silk with fresh is a great way to go, especially if the flowers you seek are not available at the moment. All of these together can create a splendid arrangement that represents your personal style. Thank you for stopping by to watch this week's Live and join us for the celebration of the new inductees and the Tulips. It was delightful to share it with you and we hope you will visit us again soon. Best wishes to you and hope you have a marvelous week!

    Love the painted leaf

That painted leaf is so gorgeous, Carmen! It really adds something special to the arrangement, and the amazing thing is that those leaves take paint and color enhancing so well. We'll be sharing those photos tomorrow on our Community page and we hope you will stop by to see them. Thank you for spending time with us and enjoying Leanne's glorious arrangements. We hope you will visit us often and we look forward to those moments. All the best to you and hope your week is filled to the brim with flowers!

Snake plants were botanically moved to Dracaena and are not considered Sanseveria genus anymore. But outside of botany, I love them as part of this arrangement! In addition to the green, I love the density/structure those leaves provide.

Thank you for the botanical information about snake plants, Mortessa! We shared it with Leanne who was very glad to receive it. We agree with you about the density and structure of those leaves and how they offer both interest and texture to the arrangement. We're so glad you joined us for this special Live all about the 2024 AIFD Symposium. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and we look forward to hosting you again soon. Best wishes to you and please have a glorious week with flowers!

We agree with you completely, Carmen! If you are going to use permanent botanicals, you want to choose quality pieces that will complement your arrangements. It's really nice to know that beautiful and elegant silk flowers are now available to mix with fresh materials. We're so glad you watched this week's Live and we hope you enjoyed seeing all of the highlights from the AIFD Symposium. Hope all is well in your corner of the world and wishing you splendid days ahead!

Loved the vegetative style, but silk flowers are a big no for me

We understand, Nathalie! Some people love to mix silks with fresh flowers while others prefer to work in one or the other exclusively. The beauty of floral design is that you can choose what works best for you and what's available in your area as well. Thank you for spending some time with us to learn all about Symposium, and we hope you enjoyed seeing the photos and the flowers. Wishing you all the best and hope you have a stellar summer week doing the things you love!

Some designers love bling while others prefer not to use it, Carmen! That is what is wonderful about floral design. There are so many styles to choose from and people can select what they love best from what is available. Thank you very much for spending time with us on Live. It was wonderful to see you here and we hope you will visit us again soon. Please take care and have a fantastic week!
