( which some people found a little challenging to get there heads around ). Cant go wrong with the rigs showed and with the weather warming up the carp fishing should be great soon.

      Was just a bit of humour. In Australia Carp are considered a noxious pest and uneatable. They are not allowed to be returned to any water in Australia. Very few people in Austral eat them, but those who do often put them in fresh water for a few days to clear out all the weed inside. This allows freshwater to go through there system before eating.

    • @eventerminator1382
      @eventerminator1382 Před 4 lety +1

      fishingmad Oh ok thanks, I am planning to eat carp. If I do the preparation correctly it won’t taste bad. I heard it was the blood that gives them the muddy taste

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Před 4 lety

      I believe overseas the waters they are in a very clean and they taste a lot better. Here locally they feed on the weed and mud and thats what makes them not so good. Thats why they flush them out with freshwater. Several of my mates eat them and say they are very good. In many overseas countries they are considered a trophy fish in Australia considered a noxious pest.

      fishingmad I actually managed to catch one with a couple of mates but it was a koi rather than a carp. Messed up the filleting but still planning to eat it. The blood has quite a strong smell to it though, nothing like I’ve experienced before.

    Funny video, however, it does present Carp as inedible which is fare from the truth, my wife is Asian and Carp is a normal table fish for her. I think another complementary video showing how to really fillet (perhaps showing removing the skin) and cook Carp is in order as well, to encourage angulars to target Carp and take them home to eat. As with all fish, where you catch the Carp also affects the quality of the flesh.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Před 4 lety +2

      Thanks for comment. I agree with you as I have many friends who also enjoy eating carp when the are prepared properly. The come from various nationalities and see them as a perfectly acceptable table fish. This was just a bit of light hearted humour. The systems that i caught these are pretty horrible areas full of mud, weed and polution which might explain why the smell of them was so bad. Thanks again for your comments.
