I've had this for over a year and I love it! No issues. It even fits in the trunk of my Mustang!
That’s great to hear!
Running the griots BOSS correcting cream on my wifes BMW and using the complete compound on my 2020 Titan. I love these videos on detailing. You do a great job of explaining the products, and the methods of use
Thank you!
This is what I need for Hurricane Season. Great detail review 👍🏾
Thanks!
We have used the czcams.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
Wow! Im liking the features of this generator. Bluetooth control just adds to the convenience. Your probably right, it wasn't hot enough to kick the compressor in for the AC to work. Excellent video Brian.
The features are great on it. I plan to test it again once it’s hot out. Thanks man
I have the exact same unit .. it just arrived and still factory sealed in the box. Awesome.
Lol I have a brand new one in my garage in the box aswell
Thanks so much! I just purchased the same generator from Home Depot for my new sprinter van! Job well done!!
Thank you!
Brian, you are a great salesman. I watched your review of the Adams 2.0 Pressure Washer and decided to purchase one and now you got me thinking about adding this Ryobi Generator to my list of tools. Great review.
Thanks! I’ve always been told I would be a great salesman so I guess you just confirmed it. Enjoy the pressure washer you will love it.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Thanks Brian, looking forward to putting it to work on some upcoming details.
P.S. I also scored a 20% discount off their web site.
@@jperez7499 Awesome!
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Brian, I wanted to share that I am enjoying the Adams Pressure washer and I had two separate issues with the extension wand That Adams quickly addressed and corrected. I am a big fan going forward.
@@jperez7499 That’s great! It’s such a good machine. They have the best customer service around.
I just purchase a Ryobi 2300 and this video is just what I need. I live in Houston and it's the summer of july 2024 in which we just had a direct hit from cat-1 hurricane Beryl that felt like a cat-3. People have been without power for weeks and it's still ongoing. Weather forecast predict a long hurricane season but I'm fortunate to have purchase my Ryobi 2300 which I'm sure will come in handy for me and no doubt will be in short supply once another hurricane approaches. Thanks a million for this video.
@@charlesbankston-r6o You are welcome! Hopefully you won’t need it but atleast you will have it.
Definitely considering this generator for our pop up camper, thanks for the review!!!!
It would be perfect for a pop up camper. You are welcome
Been using mine for mobile detailing 2 years strong. Love it. I saw that there is a new 2300 one+ model with one button push electric start that way you don't have to pull the choke. Cost more but it's a nice luxury.
Glad to hear yours has been great! The electric start would be great on the new version because you can start it with your phone.
Read the reviews on that one. Seems promising but undeliverable
That's the one that has a spot for the Ryobi 18v battery right?
@angelseliteautodetailing how is it undeliverable? It's a push start and uses a 18v one+ battery. It's easily deliverable.
Beautiful review! Thanks so much from Canada!
Thank you!
Just got mine. 62 year old petite lady. First pull. So excited. Thank you for this video
Awesome! It’s a great little unit
I’m 89, hope it works for me too 🙏
Outstanding initial review video and pointing out some of the details. And thank you for trying to actually put some decent loads on it, after all; everyone's ALWAYS trying to get as much as they can out of the smallest gen set. 🤙🏾
Thank you and you are welcome!
Ryobi makes some good stuff. I have about 30 of their battery powered tools. All of them are great.
Couldn’t agree more! I have been using them for years
A great review of a great product! What more can I say? 😉👍
Awesome Video, we just bought one for the snow storm in Georgia, see if we need to use it. Hope so!!!
Loving the Ryobi testing. Keep them coming. I use Ryobi. Will be getting the polisher and then debate over getting their mower.
Glad you liked it. As of now I don’t have any more products to test.
I have the self propelled 40v Ryobi lawnmower. It’s truly wonderful. I cut half an acre with it once a week. For a small yard you won’t need an extra battery. For my half acre, I use two to three batteries. They are far superior to gasoline engines. They ALWAYS start! Treat the batteries like they are gasoline.
@@erichannes6392 Thanks Eric, good to know. Thinking I will pull that trigger this year. Might be a nice Christmas present. Will start laying the hints.
Thank you for the review and showing how to work it I'm getting one for my block heater on my big rig. 👍
You are welcome!
Excellent demonstration. Thank you.
My Ryobi leveling drill is smoother running than my Dewalt and the purchase price was much lower.. Nice looking Gen Ryobi.
Ryobi makes good stuff. Thanks bro!
Yes they do! You are welcome
Honestly very good video I like how you demonstrated to us while using it how it responds.
Thank you!
Thanks for the review. Consumer Reports have a good recent review of inverter generators (and portables and permanent units). They give the Honda EU 2200 and the Predator (Harbor Freight) 2000 units 5 out of 5 for noise and this a 4/5. The bluetooth connectivity on this unit looks great.
You are welcome! The Bluetooth is a cool feature.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing that's a cool generator but it's good for low power appliances like TV, Radio, Router, Hair clipper,
But for high powered electronic devices like oven, fridge, air conditioners, iron, kettle, toaster, water heater, induction cooker, it will definitely struggle a lot
@danteerskine7678 nobody is using a oven on a generator, I don't know what one is low powered enough to run on 1800w. There is nothing wrong running any of the other thing you have listed.
Outstanding. Nice job.
Hang on to that 12oz bottle for the oil changes. Pre=measured for the correct amount. I think I'm gonna get one of these as well. Thanks for sharing.
I already threw it out but I will just have to remember 12 ozs and buy a cheap measuring cup. Thanks
Great video man. Excellent info and straight to the point (non native English speaker here)
Thank you!
That's a nice generator brian, it looks cool ryobi are definitely spoiling you 👍👍👍,
Yes they are!
I bought this generator and liked it. It ran well and was very efficient. The overloads failed in the hot sun at 105*. They would not reset. I feel this generator is not intended to run at high ambient temperatures. The engine did well, seems like the electronic controls are lacking.
I remember when you could have swapped the RYOBI nameplate with one that said POS. But lately, they have made some nice reasonably priced nicely done gear. Thanks for the Video!
Yeah these new tools are well made and have never let me down. You are welcome
Their cordless tools are much better ever since they started to make lithium battery packs, too
Cool I just bought it and now I know how to use it
Glad the video could help you
A truly portable light to move around.
Yes it is
After Hurricane Michael I put 1200 hours on this generator. Still have it, still runs but after I stopped using it for a year it runs rough now. Probably needs carb cleaned. Good generator.
Yeah probably needs cleaned or just replace the carb.
That’s why you want to put a duel fuel propane conversion kit on it, so you can switch to propane, run it for a bit, then turn it off and not foul the carburetor when you store it.
wow, you made me thinking of buying ryobi generator. thx
You are welcome!
I need this in my power washing van..then I can add detailing to my services😀
Details is so easy.. jk it's not easy after you get used to it. Its 20% of the job the rest is prep and management
@@angelseliteautodetailing I know.. I've been detailing for years.. Just not mobile..
@@MNpicker thanks for being AWESOME 😎
Exactly the kind of review I was looking for. Buying one today!
Glad my review helped!
Very well designed
amazing video, parallel kit would be awesome
Thanks brother! Yeah I plan to add a parallel and another generator.
Thank you bro for this great video
You are welcome!
Thanks. Great video you answer my questions..
You are welcome!
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I went to home depot & I bought it. Ready x camping
Sorry seen this a little late but wanted to chime in anyway. I have two of these for my RV and they are awsome. They start right up after about 2 years of ownership. If you instal and easystart on your A/C you can get away with that one generator running your A/C. I still us two thow as I travel at high elevations and we all know you lose power with elevation. Just FYI its nice to have two small ones VS one large one. easy for my wife to carry :) I dont allways need to run the A/C or use every thing in the rv all at once. so I only take two in the summer.
That’s great to know. I thought about putting an easy start on it we will see how it goes.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Any update on starting the A/C in the warmer months? Mine is 13,500btu with a wall-mounted thermostat/controller rather than the kind you have directly on the A/C unit's underbelly. From what I saw in another video, flip off the breaker for the compressor or whole RV, turn off the fridge temporarily, start yours on the fan side for about 10 seconds in low, then 10 seconds on high fan, then QUICKLY turn the knob over to the A/C Low side. Soft start will obviously be easier on the generator, but that's around $400 right there.
@@lynneftw It will not run my A/C but I didn’t try it the way you suggested so I may have to next time it’s out.
Do these have oil filters?
@@JablonskiV No they don’t have oil filters.
My ryobi works on my 5k window unit, you just have to go full power on the generator. I didn’t know you can pair 2 gems thank you for that
I tried it at full power on the camper and it still didn’t work. You are welcome
Looks like he's got like a 12k btu AC. Need around 3500 watts I'd guess to run that bad boy.
@@enthused7591at 18:33. he.said it is a13.5k (13,500) BTU A/C
I have an older Honda 2000 with very low hours. I was going to install a soft start on my trailer AC and the manufacturer said the Honda should be able to run the AC as long as everything else is turned off. I could run the frig on propane.
very nice review, thank you so much
You are welcome
Great video, thanks !
Thank you!
I have read a couple of the reviews and I see a lot of Negative reviews in my case I see nothing wrong with it I've had my for 4 years and you and it's still running smooth!
can you hook it up to the house refrigerator only , and just for over night and would it stay running just for 8 hours, i use the 8000 watt generator for the daytime for the whole house, but i just want to use one that is quieter at night, like the one he is showing ?
I bet the issue is ryobi quality control. They probably skimp on quality control and poorly made units make it to market and those who gave a bad review got one. You probably got a well assembled unit.
@jeremiah1797 yes this would easily run fridge all night, maybe even 2 nights on one tank.
Great video cool generator
Thanks!
Great video Brian👍🏼👍🏼 That's a cool little generator😎 What's the 0-60 time on that bad boy🤣😂😉
Thanks! 0-60 in 1.89 seconds
Thanks for sharing 👍
You are welcome
great review thank you sir.
Thank you
Thanks for the review.
You are welcome!
I like everything about it except the carbon monoxide shut down. I run a small generator in a small insulated box when the temperatures are below 0. This box has a small opening where the exhaust is and a hinged cover for warmer temperatures. It runs at a steady decreasing load charging a battery plant.
Great vid!
Thank you!
Great video man
I hope this unit runs my little Power washer and my vacuum
Vacuum armor all
Power washer green works 1700 psi😃👍🏻
Thank you! It should run both no problem
Awesome vlog I can't wait for the new Ryobi dethatcher with scarifier comes out I'm thinking about this Generator thanks for the post
Thanks and you are welcome
This looks like a great generator. I prefer my two Champion 2,500 generators. Cheaper (paid $550 for each) and runs on propane as well. Would be cool if it came with bluetooth though. That's pretty awesome
It’s a nice generator for sure. I looked at the Champion Dual Fuel also
Good job👍
I’ve never had a generator. But I’m going to give you a review 🤣😂😅
What’s wrong with that? My brother in law has owned a few and has one on his house so he was there helping out. We all learn somehow.
Great video
Thank you!
Perhaps will do a review after a year or two on it. Could you include a sound meter on your next video.
Tell the folks at Ryobi that I'm buying one of these based off your video
Awesome and will do!
Great Video Thank u
Thank you and you are welcome
id save that funnel and keep it in the housing for proper storage and ease of access when needed
thanks brother!!
Nice generator
Thanks! It’s a good little machine
Where did you get the magnetic dipstick, or, what is the thread size? There are a few different thread sizes for these dipsticks and I can't seem to find the one for this Ryobi.
So this one doesn't run on solar? Can it run on homemade biogas?
As for the air conditioning, you should be able to add a smart start that will reduce the starting amps so the generator will have a chance to run the a/c. Excellent review.
I plan to have a slow start put on the compressor. Thanks
Update. I purchased this after your review and you were right, it is awesome. I bought it for use in my RV with a Hisense portable air conditioner unit, and though it operates at 960w, the startup must have been higher than the 2300 startup watts available and it overloaded. The generator works great, as you said, but didnt work for me because of poor research on my AC. Just thought your viewers should know to look up the wattage used when the compressor in their particular AC unit fires up first.
I have a YETI power station that handles a 3000w surge and can get the air conditioning unit going but it drains the battery too fast. If anyone knows of a fix or trick for this, itd be a huge help, otherwise I have to return it and start over.
It’s a great little unit but won’t fire my A/C either but it will run everything else we need it to in a pinch
Also it is surprisingly quiet! The video does not do it justice it makes it sound louder then it actually is
Please do not look into a “soft start” kit like someone else mentioned lol. Just return the darn thing and get a more powerful one. I’ve always been dumbfounded by people trying to sink 200 dollars more into a problem.
Looks like a great little generator 👍
Needs a ceramic coating though to protect it from the elements 🤣
🤔 Protection for the generator isn’t a bad idea! 😂
If one takes care of their tools they will last longer.
How many Oz of oil ? Thanks for the review
Mine runs everyday since I brought it 1.5 months ago best thing since ryobi in blue 😅
That’s great to hear!
Nice you can hook up two
Awesome video buddy! I am looking at one of these for my small R Pod camper. Did you retest it with the AC running? That is the main thing I want to purchase it for. Thanks!
It should be able to handle a 13,000 btu AC just fine. Might be pushing it with a 15,000btu
Would it work for a Mobil detailing trailer? To charge batteries and run power washer, extractor, vacuum and steamer?
There is someone in this very comment section that said they have used it for 2 years as a mobile detailer.
question is if they are paired up with the umbeliicle, do they both control via bluetooth? do they talk to each other? or would it just be more efficient to get a larger generator?
That’s a great question I can’t answer as I don’t have 2 of them.
Nice!
Thanks!
Very very nice I like it
It’s a great little generator!
I would like to know if it has a off button to shut off on the generator beside Bluetooth.
The knob has an integral kill switch
Indiana buddy.. hobart Indiana here.
It’s good seeing fellow Hoosiers comment on here!
I like the screw on . just one. I have a small one and it has two screws and I have to use a screw driver to get the sides off.
Thank you
Ive got three and have owned a dozen...a few things, never leave gas in it longer than a couple weeks, and if it starts surging, clean the pilot jet on top of the carb. Also after a couple years the fuel lines collapse inside so I replaced mine with high quality marine fuel line and a good glass filter inline instead of the crappy red plastic one, cheers!
I appreciate the info. So I use Amsoil quickshot in my fuel and have left it all winter and it starts back up easily after sitting for months. I will keep that in mind though.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing for sure adding fuel stabs is a must if it sits for a while, its just easy for me to just drain it for the off season based on where theyre stored, and I found the pilot jet gets clogged so easy even with stabilizer. I also bypassed fuel through several of the easy start switches on the first few I had because they never could seem to find a happy place, the later ones theyve improved so that shows Ryobi cares, they sure are great and quiet and waay cheaper than Honda or Yammihaha😂! Happy Fourth!!
for night camping I got a river echo . in camp grounds I visit they so no generator at night.
They will run a camper ac unit. I run mine al the time
florida has a tax free week on hurricane preparedness items at the moment and i just picked this up earlier today. thanks for the video, i’m pretty stoked on it now! do you think i would be able to run a small chest freezer and one or two box fans on it simultaneously? i got it mainly for the freezer, but it would be nice to have some circulation in the house if the power goes out... thanks!
Yes, no problem with a fridge and a coffee maker
The chest freezer on my houseboat barely put a 30-40% load on it. Should be fine. Just don't overload it. Seems the overloads are weak.
@@pope1856 thank you so much!
Can you do a small gas drain to keep the carb dry after each use ?
You can open the drain on the bottom of the carb and drain it out
Man, Ryobi is spoiling you these days.
They have been great to work with
What kind of oil can I buy for this? N also what gas can I used?
Good question I was thinking the same
Will it be enough for big fridge 11.7 amps a TV & modem
Yes
Have you considered installing a soft start on your AC and seeing it that will run with this generator?
I have and plan to soon. They cost about $450 installed
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing or buy for $340 and install yours. Several CZcams videos on how to do it. I will but need to be a cooler day out.
Or… you could buy whole nother for that much and have two and voila lol.
Curious how operates if starts raining
Have not tried that yet!
Need 2cycle or just gas
can someone tell me how big is a generator 3800 watts on the outside, tall wide and long. thanks
Would this Generator be good for mobile detailing? Lets say about 6-8 hours a day of detailing cars using an electric pressure washer and a small shop vac
Yes. It’s the typical Yamaha-clone generator with the 80 cc motor. In my opinion, they are all the same with regards to reliability. I’ve plugged air compressors and 1500 watt heaters in them to see how far I can push it. One thing is to check the spark plug and change it. The ones that come with it sucks.
wish my champion 3100 had that oil drain spot
It will be handy when I need to change the oil
What size refrigerator can this hook up to.
I don’t know but it ran the fridge in the camper with no problem.
I accidentally spilled gas on it will it be ok ?
will this power a Ryobi 1800psi pressure washer that's 13.2 amp and 1500watts?
Yes it should no problem at all
Will the generator app work on my phone when I’m out camping and there’s no WiFi? Trying to see if that feature is worth the buy! Thank you
Yes, it's Bluetooth and not wifi.
