- In this video, I will be sharing with you the 5 things I hate about my Range Rover Evoque. I got this car for an incredible deal and I have always wanted one! There are some things that I love and hate about this car. The first thing I dislike is the bad visibility inside the vehicle, especially near the back of the car. The second thing I dislike about this car is the amount of money it costs to buy parts for this car or take it to a shop. Next, this car does not get good gas mileage and on top of that it takes premium gas. Watch the full video to see the last two reasons why I hate my Range Rover Evoque!
Hope you loved that video. If you did, make sure to subscribe and tap the notification bell, hit the like button, and drop a comment as well.

My 2012 evoque still running without a single issues after 280k miles. It all depends on how you drive and take care of it.
That's refreshing to read. I recently bought a 2014 pure tech with 100k miles. Fingers crossed its alright!
Wow!!! I have a 2014, with 55,000mi, no issues either!
- I’m guessing you just follow the maintenance schedule??
I Just bought a 2015 evoque and it had a 100k miles and it still runs great
IMHO, this probably the most reliable Range Rover
Agree
So you complain about fuel economy but constantly drive around in Sport mode? How strange
Was cringing before watching this video... however, I'm glad the video was just personal opinion of likes and dislikes, nothing regarding TRUE issues with the vehicle. I'm purchasing a 2013 model on Monday.
How was it? Did you like it?
Do you still own the range rover 2013 how was it😊 planning to purchase one
Puts on seat belt to avoid hate comments, proceeds to hardly touch the steering wheel 🤔
That’s because American roads are about half a mile wide…
So you bought a wrecked car and hate it. Hmmm weird.
I bought this car from the shop and it sucks to pass and speeding
@@catacata9285 I just bought this car and drove it 5 hours gering home on the autobahn in Germany and was passing people going as fast as I wanted with ease.
Very
How often do u drive backwards 😂
😂☠️
Lmao, buy’s a broken Evoque, expect it to drive like new 😂 . Listen, if you're going to own a Range Rover, you have to understand that this isn’t a Ford Fusion that will be your daily 9-5. These are luxury cars, not Corolla, till they reach 300k.
Treat it with care, pay for its yearly services, and it will work like a dime. If you don’t make the income to provide any of these services pls don’t buy it as it will put you in a tough spot.
I own an evoque and it works amazing!
agreed😃
would you tell me where the place of oil brake tank is located??
Can anyone estimate how much the yearly service cost should come out to? I’m thinking of buying a used 2013 and would like to be smart about the decision
True
Did your roof top leak ?
Imagine knowingly buying a wrecked and unrepaired car and then complaining about it lol
The rear view camera gives a complete view of what is behind you and you can run it anytime you want
Exactly! Use your side mirrors and camera to see what's behind you.
Driving in sport mode, then wondering how the fuel bill is expensive. smh
Right I put mine in sport and it sucked down the gas
Lost all respect when you kicked it at the beginning.
High fuel consumption and low power, have you done a tune up?
Jumps it, bags on it and then complains about it. LOL
Worst review ever.
I just bought this car and I think it’s awesome so far. He sounds cheap. Don’t buy a Range Rover if you don’t wanna spend a lil money. Plus it’s not meant to be a race car
I enjoy mine
Same here
Love my evoque but it’s been problem after problem every other month since I’ve had it. Only has 67k miles
@@jose_backwoods7516 like what?
I’m thinking to get one and it’s over 100,000 miles what do you think?
This dude tinted his windows near black and then proceeds to whine about visibility. LOL.
They come tinted
I thought it was more about the small windows, but in combination with the tint, it’s extra restrictive.
Is homie filming breathing heavy af?
😂
Everyone that seems to assume it’s the way he drives it or perhaps he bought it damaged already… you have no idea how unreliable as well as very expensive this car is to maintain. For those that own one and say they’ve had no issues, we’ll congratulations! Y’all are definitely the lucky ones. I’ve owned my 2013 Evoque Dynamic for about 4 years now. Purchased it in pristine condition, excellent carfax report, only 2 previous owners, and had about 40k miles… out the door $30,000. Within the first year of owning it had to replace turbo charger, replace the door handle latches… following year had to replace the transmission amongst other problems relating to emissions. Which so far has cost me over $12,000. Mind you I don’t drive the car fast don’t travel far and I always make sure I maintain it as needed! From what I’ve researched about the Evoques, this Range Rover model is definitely the worse kind to invest in considering all its issues. I would never recommend this vehicle. Looks nice sure, and yes you’ll turn heads and it’s a great conversation starter but definitely not worth it!
You sound angry asf
Did you not have a warranty?
@@lings_journy 😂
thats the problem exactly, with any types of rangerovers you have to make sure you put ur foot down quite a lot because not doing so can lead to many problems. myself personally i like to take out my rangerovers at least once a week and really give it some so the dpf unblocks and the turbo is being used properly.
Well I got one and it’s very reliable and not so expensive to run.
Unless you want to service it at Range Rover than that your problem. I’ve had a couple actually and they are great
1600 for the axel of a range rover is not that bad. Definitely sounds like he is not the right owner for this vehicle
Purchased my 2017 Range Rover Evoque from new. Apart from the odd issues. My Evoque is all good👍🏻
Still going strong?
had the SD version for many years. 245k Km driven. besides regular maintenance no mechanical problems. The side plastics (like the one broken in this car) are quite weak. Don't be surprised if they fly away at high speeds if splashed on a puddle or just normal driving. Also door central locking can be an issue. They tend to break on many cars. Again these are small issues. This is a powerful compact SUV. On highway it can overtake anyone with ease.
Dislike for wearing 50 year old mans mustache on a 20 year old and for hitting the car with your leg- It shows lack of respect. Otherwise is was a great video. That white color car looks so good in that environment.
You remember to put your seat belt on and keep to the speed limit but you keep driving with your hands off the wheel.
Ive had 2 range rover evoquse for 10 years now. An amazing vehicle. The only issue is tire pressures in cold weather. Otherwise its amazing.
Take the rear head rests off
I think you just got a crap evoque then, my wife's 2013 evoque is pretty quick and the trans is really good. Only thing I can think of is space is limited in the trunk area. Besides that, she gets like 26mpg on highway and 21 in town.
Thanks for the feedback!
Mines it’s the same he saying from the shop 🤦🏻♀️
The heavy breathing in backround 💀
😑this shit drained me...how u complain about gas nd u always in sport mode...shit hit 70 mad quick smh but its slow smh what do u want bro
@7:00 mark, did you just use your left foot to break?
some people drive with two feet, i do.
@@XUrbanSimsX its dangerous. I swear.
Only Americans would use their left foot to brake… 🤦♂️
You do know that when you put it in sport mode, the paddle shifters are active right? Down shift to 6th or 7th gear and you'll be well over 80mph in no time!
It's not a race car! It's a suv!🙄
We had 3 problemen with our evoque 1. The slots where just broken after 1 year and now we have a problem to
It’s a luxury European vehicle and you’re whining about running costs? The 2.2 diesel with 190bhp/314 lb ft is more than quick enough for most people; the lower spec 2.0 with 148bhp is slow but most people that choose that engine won’t care.
lol the hand smacking 😬
I reckon they might want to charge you more money for different reasons
I love mine ♥
He lost me after he said he went on jumps with it…smh
🤣🤣🤣 me too
throw your tank is full in the Netherlands .. here we pay 2.25 euros per liter. calculate that is to your unit. and you will see that you fill up cheap gas haha
Not that bad.. almost any car known to be more of a luxury or newer car they're going to try to change more for parts and labor unless you go to a credible business. I bought a 2012 dodge journey from a dealer and didn't know the control arm was snapped in half and for that matter didn't even know what a control arm was so I thought I needed a wheel alignment whenever I felt the car jerk. whole time it was the control are and it costed me close to $1,000 dollars with labor to have it fixed. Also it's good to put a car you bought that was in an accident before yourself. The dodge I bought ended up having a bad battery and it died and I was unable to use the manual key that comes inside the key fob to unlock the door and pop the hood because the door was a swap and I didn't know, I bought it from the dealer like that. Conveniently enough for me dodge just so happen to put the battery for the car in front of the tire, behind the driver side fender, kind of under the bumper.. I was able to remove the bumper and jump the battery, I also put a new battery in but it sucks not having a manual key that works.
I'm kinda guessing that this guy is a Volvo salesman in his part time ?
These comments are hilarious 😆 😭😭 and on point...
My. God dude you bought it with the banged up right side and now you’re crying about it..
didn’t you look at the fuel consumption before you bought it?
All this crap you’re whining about you should have known before you bought it.!
Why did you buy the thing or did you buy without testing it.
Stop your crying ffs
May I ask what was the mileage when you bought it? Looking at one at a great price but mileage is already 76,000 and so I’m not sure about it
My brother has one from 2013 2.2 litre with about 145k miles and still runs flawless. If the previous owner took proper care of it, the car should be pretty good. 76k miles isn’t muc for a 2012-2013 car anyways.
Just bought mine at 120,000 which I think is nuts but I love the truck. Plan to pay it off in a year 17,000 I think I got ripped off but hey I’m stuck with it now
.....wears the seatbelt due to safety comments but doesn't actually hold the steering wheel for the majority of the video lol.
Thanks for sharing
My 16 plate Evoque no issues at all got it in 2017
I’m an aftermarket fan over OEM on some things !
How many miles does it have and how much do you want for your vehicle?
I own one. An SD 190hp. Never had problems. The fuel consumption is pretty great. 2.2 liter engine in city goes up to 7.8l/km and highway about 5-6. It is a compact SUV 4x4. What do you expect?
He’s brought a Insurance structural damaged car and then moans about a small rear window when it has a reversing camera and large wing mirrors..🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Range rovers are highly customizable you say its a bit sluggish but it's probably because of the previous owners specs like mine is 2.3 liter and it has a 9 speed transmission and it Handel's amazing
I have a 2015 Evoque 75k miles and has a lot of problems. Turbo booster is out, coolant issues, gas tank leak .. it’s a nightmare and I’m still paying on it. Lots of negative equity, trade in is not viable.
Whoever is recording is breathing heavy into that camera mic. It is constantly in the background while in the car.
Very annoying when you notice it.
He could drive me in sport mode any day
❌ My RR HSE, Supercharge is very fast. The minute I step on it, it just goes, gliding on the road, and passes other cars with ease. Thank you for this video, I was thinking of replacing my car, it's getting older, and I was going to down size, however even the sales woman told me not to get an Evoque... ❌
Get a Velar, its supposed to be the most reliable. Mine sure as hell isnt but it was bought used and every issue is due to the previous owner clearly doing a bad tune (engine needed replaced, and the super charger's coating is literally GONE... like they overheated that fucker by an insane ammount).
Mate, you’re an idiot for buying a broken Range Rover that has been in an accident. Range Rover parts are expensive and maintenance is quite high. Don’t buy a luxury car if you’re not willing to spend lol. Love my 2017 hsi dynamic. No issues to date.
I’m looking for a used Evoque I can work on it I started working on cars heavy when I had a Jeep so I’m looking for a baby rover
Get hold of the steering wheel mate
About the transmission thing that’s normal it’s 4 cylinder car with 2.0 engine it’s almost the same of Nissan Altima engine with Range Rover body , it’s normal to feel that way …
But how does it run? Is it always breaking down? Etc
Reset your accelerator. It learns your driving style, so if it used to be driven by a granny, you need to reset it for it to learn how you want it. Also, the Range Rover tax is no different from the Merc, BMW, etc. tax, so that’s a moot point
How do you reset it? I tried Googling, but I must have the wrong keywords
1- Press Start button but don't turn on the engine.
2- Press the Accelerator down to the floor for about 15 seconds.
3- Hit the start button again to turn off the power.
4- Remove foot from Accelerator
5- Wait for 2 Mins.
6- Start the engine and Drive.
It's not the car's fault that it's been wrecked and mistreated. Any car will have problems if it's been wrecked. It's to be expected. Land Rover took a big step into reliability. They used to be so problematic and bad, but the newer ones, especially the Evoque have stood the test of time. But to be fair, most of the parts they use are Ford. For some reason, Ford has always had in interest in partnering with English and French companies. So what I see here is another CZcamsr trying to talk trash about a car that's been mistreated for most of it's life.
bro, keep those eyes on the road ;)
I have a 2015 2.2 sd4 Evoque manual I can't complain about the milage I get, I even use it to tow a 7 metre caravan which weighs approx 1.5tonnes and it pulls that great mind you I have to watch the speed in the Uk max towing speed for any trailer is 60mph and yes I have gone over that by accident, pulling up hill no problem, mind you I have had a new clutch fitted when I had only 28,000 on the clock that cost just over £900 including labour but if you go looking on the web people do say that it gives problem about then, I did buy it with only 10,000 on the clock as a second owner. I have never taken it to a deanship for its service but the garage I took it to did the service using the proper gear when it was under warranty and it cost half the price as a dealership service. if you treat the car right and not flog it like he's doing it will do what you want. An Evoque is not a sports car it's a 4x4 suv. ive also driven Landrover defenders, freelanders, ford rangers and Toyota hilux every one has its own niggles.
never kick that again just gave it to me
Your just stepping my dream car mr @max Karg
Tbvh😂
If you always drive in sport, of course you’ll get crappy mileage. Duh
It’s because the 2.4l motor is a ford eco boost and that just killed my desire to get one.
Didn’t even tell us the fuel mpg.
Buy you porche GT V8 if you make crazy speed. If you drive " sport mode" he consume more, all cars do that. But is this a diesel D4 197 hp? He is fast.....
It's not fast. Diesel has 190 HP and 10 sec to 100 km/h, gas has 240 HP and 7,6 sec. to 100. VW Tiguan for instance, so car with the same dimensions (I am talkin about the MK1) with 210 HP (4 wheel drive) has 7,3 sec. to 100, having 30 HP less. I've heard from few users that Evoque is slow comparing to the power he has.
Okay let's talk about the elephant nobody's talking about the camera guy in that breathing you got to be kidding me LOL
Because it’s not the full options version it’s td4 just like shit if u have dynamic plus u gonna change the mind
It's a Ford drive train, Ecoboost, what do you except. I love my evoque.
Does the transmission have to reach 3000 revs before changing up or was that just because you floored it ?
I'm a steady driver, rarely go above 60mph or above 2000 revs even when changing up in a manual box. Considering buying one of these in a 2017/18 automatic version with less than 50k miles (if I can find a nice one fairly locally), hence why I'm i here 🙂
Its only reaches 3k bc its in sports mode
@@David_Donovitznope i have a few evoques, they usually shift around 2.5 to 3 k revs
8L to 100km ain’t even bad😭😭😭
You bought a collision damaged vehicle expecting to make a killing with a cheap repair. Did I miss something?
Dude complains about fuel economy but wants a bigger engine. It's a heavy awd, the fuel economy is as expected for age and weight. If you want a bigger engine it's only going to get worse.
hi from Liverpool England...hey man, thanx for your cool video!...I was about to trade in my 2015 BMW X3 for one of these...now i think I wont bother!....I like the way you hit and kicked the bad, bad stupid dumb Range Rover! -
I had the front bumper replaced twice i had low miles plus my turbo whent out stalls when trying to accelerating all this with low miles 2013 model just sold it instead
Why would you buy that when it's all beat tf up? Then call out OEM parts as a con of ownership? AND wants a 2L 4cyl to be punchy off the line with a 4000lb vehicle LOL
Am I trippin or is someone snoring into the mic?
“If they fit the stereotype of whoever is buying this” what?!? 😂😂
The fuel economy is actually really good. I had a Toyota Aygo before my evoque and it averaged at about 55mpg but my evoque does 65mpg, just don’t have it in sports mode constantly
It’s not a proper Range Rover!
It’s a hand bag car that sells well! It won’t take you off road which a real Range Rover Will and will not pull 3.5 tons across a ploughed field. And I guess it drives itself which you never mentioned as you don’t hold the wheel. I never knew it had that feature.
Congratulations, your clueless, go and watch plenty of CZcams videos of the evoque being put through its paces from wading to offroading. These are very capable cars. Your probably hating on them becuase you can't afford one and youv never driven or owned one. It's the same chassis as its predecessor. Literally the same car with a different body. It pains me to have to educate dumb fuckers obsessing over handbags 👜 grow up, its a 4x4 made with metal parts. Where does a handbag come into it?
I drive in deep snow in the winter in my 2.2 SD4 Dynamic and its a breeze, try in my Mrs merc and no chance so I say you're wrong. 👏
@@philipyates7138 lmfao
This made me want to buy one even more, this vid is a waste of time tbh
You can't resell them sadly
WOW your driver's window is tiny! There is a ridiculous blind spot right there too, why did they make it so big? Thank you for this video, I thought it would be a good long distance runner and more economical. But no. I will either opt for a Land Rover 2009 turbo while it is not more economical I am willing to pay more for more power and reliability. I am also looking at an older Audi Q5 ..maybe. But right now I leaning toward the 2009LR turbo. Thanks :D !
Camera man breathing heavy
Driving with his joint … not logical. 😂😂 😂 that’s not the best “recommendation” !
You buy your own parts and want some mechanic too install them? You bring your own steak to a restaurant?
Gearbox probs never had a service either
What MPG or Litres per 100 KM do you get?
I think around the low 20's MPG
It's only rated to get 25 mph
Je pense que c'est réciproque, le Range ne t'aime pas, respect les voitures et tu verras
how many mikes do you get on a full tank?
i have 2014 version and i get almost 400 miles per tank.
@@canerakdeniz damb foreal? What model?
"not a huge fan of the trans" me neither buddy.
Great video man. My only main question is am I gunna have to dump a lot into the motor or trans just to keep her on the road? My 2012 Chevy Cruze has the worst reliability ever. For example I've had to rebuild the motor once and had to replace almost everything in the motor bay with 1 previous owner and only 74k miles when I got the car. So if anyone can answer as far as mechanical reliability that would be amazing. Been looking at one of these just as a daily driver for winter months.
I don’t agree with the 1st comments you said , I see it’s the other way … the 2nd comment is your fault or ex owner fault the accident so you paid for your mistaken …
You get the same BS with MBZ and BMW. Over priced , iffy reliability, expensive parts, etc. The diesel version in these back in Europe are much better. Torque and economy.
A wrinkly shirt says a lot
i still love it dou
You might need a tune up
I’m not normally one to leave any kind of rude comment but CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET THE CAMERA MAN SOME NOSE SPRAY!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Have to say I totally disagree with everything you have said, I looooove mine and didnt recognise your issues
Luxury not off roading
