Shoigu's new position as head of the Federal Security Council is not exactly a retirement and nothing like the Zhaluzhny's case, who was mainly pushed out of his position.
Actually this position is one of the most influential in the Kremlin and Shoigu will be more powerful in this position than he was as minister of defense, which is mainly an administrative function.
Patruchev, his predecessor in this position and former head of the FSB and the FSK, is well in his 70's and most probably ready for retirement.
It surprises me that Lavrov still remains in position, since he already indicated a while ago that he was ready for retirement.

Also means to include sources from both sides and using a language that is no polarized to either sides' ideology.

Ukraine lacks everything right now: trained and combat-ready fresh troups(infantry+weapon systems technicians), reliable logistics infrastructure and weapons supply but the most important resource is...time.
Russians grinded and gnawed at their defensive lines for months, Ukr defenders are exhausted and stretched all along the front line.
Now that a third front is open in the north, the UAF's depleted resources will be stretched even thinner, leaving easily exploitable gaps for fast-moving incursions.
The Russians will read and react to what the UAF defensive lines and postures offer before to decide what would be the next offensive move.
They have the luxury of time, they can choose what to do next...
If the northern defensive line crumbles, they will open a new front in the south towards Odessa and Transinistrea, stressing further Ukr's logistics and available resources;if not they will keep the UAF honest on both east and north fronts, keeping on depleting the UAF resources until the breaking point, then finally russians will open a front in the south.
One way or another, the UAF's logistics and pool of capable troops is depleting fast, leaving them extremely vulnerable to new fronts...
Personally, I would bet on a Russian offensive in the south, soon or later. Securing the Odessa region is rhe biggest strategic goal, it would make Ukr. landlock and allow the Russian navy to control the Crimean sea and allow the Russian to push north.
Basically the cauldron will be expanded.
Knowing this doesn't change much of the outcomes because, I will repeat it again once again, Ukr doesn't have the time to train new recruits, the logistics infrastructure to shuffle around its resources efficiently and enough ammo to resupply its defensive fronts.
It's game over but the Zelensky regime and its sponsors don't want to acknowledge it...
    ~ A keyboard strategist.

Since it was believed that this summer Russia would go to Odessa, and now all resources and troops will go to the Northern Front. For Russia, Odessa is very important, because of the land border with Transnistria, where problems are now beginning.
