- In this video, I'm sharing with you some tuition that I gave my daughter on how to be successful with Betfair trading.
During the lockdowns through the pandemic, I went online to teach my daughter how to trade.
So this is a snip of one of those sessions.
If you're a beginner looking to get started with Betfair trading, this video should be good for you!!
It shows you what I'm looking for and that little gap in knowledge between somebody who does this for a living and a total beginner.
Hope you get something from it!
Thanks for watching!

Excellent video Peter, back to basics. Seeing when a trend is developing is hard to spot...
Great one, I'd love to watch more of these!
Thanks for the feedback
Great video Pete!!
For all the begginers like me this step by step video gives us an excellent knowledge
Thanks
Fantastic content it really is priceless, thank you both for sharing.
Thank you, that's much appreciated.
Hi Peter it makes these videos very real. I have been using BA for a about 3 months now and absolutely love it. However I did lose money.(not too much as I did only trade $5 AUD) making or losing cents in the beginning. Admittedly I have not renewed as I am still behind the curve and with Christmas coming will have to redirect my finances for a month or so. I was really getting the hang of it and had finally 3 trading days in a row making $4.00 a day approx. Resulting in a P&L of $12.00 overthat period.😇 Can't tell you how overjoyed I was with that little victory. Am concentrating on the Win for 1 day, then a week and then a month and so on. You CZcams videos have been absolutely essential in that endeavour. Can't wait to renew after Christmas and start again. Merry Christmas to your and your family and I look forward to future videos.
Thanks, hope you have a good Christmas.
There isn't an easy shortcut to trading sometimes; getting better bit by bit is often the best strategy.
I started in the same place and gradually worked my way up to being slightly ahead of the market. But it is possible, with practice. It just takes a bit of time.

These videos are very useful ! Thanks !
Thanks for the feedback.
Hi Peter. Sorry to hear you've been struck down 🤧
As a long covid sufferer of 12 months now, the only thing I've been able to do with any conviction is watch your videos. I have seen this one before but for some reason it makes more sense this time around.
Anyhow, I hope you feel better very soon and look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thanks, I wasn't aware I had published this before. But maybe I did?
Thanks for your comments.
Superb video. I called it wrong. Couldn't see it reaching 3.5 and above.
hi peter, glad to see your new video on youtube.... Can you tell me when a video course on pre-off trading on horses will be done? I mean your doing sports trading specifically
I'm re-writing content this winter for pre-off racing on the Academy. Hope to have more together for the start of the new flat turf season.
@@betangeltv thank you peter I can't wait to see what's coming. Wishing you and your family and all the bet angel team a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year😀🎉🎉
Thank you, have a good one.
This type of content is really good Peter, novices like me can really relate to it! How's she getting on, does she still trade? Be interesting to see what progress has been made.
Yes, she has made a good sum of money. Probably more than most 'experts' you see on CZcams 😀
@@betangeltv I don't doubt it...good stuff 👏
hi peter how do you collect data on betfair? like tennis example what kind of software you use? does betangel have it?
Yes you can use Bet Angel to collect data on your trading or the markets.
Check out the automation or Excel sections on the forum and there are examples available in there.
Great video peter, how much do you reckon you would have made doing this trade yourself £50-£100?
These are the best videos, I find these help more because your student is learning like myself. Thanks very much for sharing 😀
I'd probably feel comfortable in weaker markets with £30-50. In a good race I'd want hundreds.
It's all down to how liquid the market is. I can raise the stakes if there is a lot of money sloshing around. But will cut back if there isn't.
It's a good way to manage risk.
Peter when a horse is overweighted, more money on that horse then the odds suggest, how would I use over & under weighted horses to my advantage? Thxs
When the best horse carry ‘excessive’ weight more than the second best , this would mean it’s expected to perform well above the rest . If you check the form lines , running styles , may be previously won at the same race type, ground , field size or even been dropped from a higher class to the current ‘lower class ‘.. this would make a good steamer or even a place /winner. and in the long run should show positive results .
- but this is my opinion and wouldn’t blindly take it to the bank 😊
There are quite a few element of form that are quite likely to produce a bit of backing.
Quite a nuanced area really.
But a simply example, would be a horse that won last time out in a field where none have. That produces some backing.
Hi JD, I read your call differently. I read it that you see a relationship between the odd for a runner and the amount of money backing it and that can sometimes become out of balance. If that is the case I can't help now but it could be interesting and maybe needs investigating.
i thibk on twitter you mentioed something about your son. is he doing sports trading?
Curiously, it's my two daughters that have had the most interest. They are both long-term profitable now.
Is it true that you can use a stop lose? ; Is that a tool from betfair or it is a tool of your program ?
It's a tool on Bet Angel. But be aware a stop loss, simply guarantees a position stops out, either at a profit or loss.
So it's stops a bigger loss.
"We're about to find out". 😂

The headaches are worse !.. I think its a covid side affect. Wish you a quick recovery . Looking at the set up , saw many opportunities to Back but you prefer to go against the grain and Lay at the top of a range , away from cross-over point . A great lesson indeed . THANKs👍
Thanks.
It's more important to look at particular setups and wait for them to occur.
So the trade could pretty much be anything. But spotting the pre-cursors to it and being ready to take advantage is what requires a bit of practice.
Man Flu, women think child birth is tough 😂😜 get well soon Peter 💪
Turns out I have Covid, tested positive this morning.
Man flu is a major affliction. Women will never understand the suffering...
😂
How did you know that the price will probably go up? I would lay 2nd favorite at that moment because his price was low compared to first favorite. And I would lose a lot :)

@@betangeltv thank you. It takes experience to predict the price movement I see, but for neutral person it looks like a gambling :)
There are many different ways to trade the market. Some are highly speculative, but others make a lot of sense. Have a look at this one: -
