Nice video man. I don't think my dear wife appreciated me saying "got that" to half the records you flipped :D
Hahahahaha!
also is that a new turntable or just moved around?
The same turntable in the same place lol.
CD band, vinyl band, hahaha... I´m glad I´m not the only one who does that! It always feel so wrong when you have to change to the other format for a certain band, hahaha...
Here´s my strangest one: Suffocation, their full length albums are "CD albums" BUT their EPs are "vinyl must haves", hahaha...
Hahah that's a strange mix up, but I'm sure it makes sense in a way. I will do things like full lengths on LPs, but demos compilations on CDs haha.
Great selection in those shops. I was glad to see the new Tzompantli in your hands…. Great haul
Yeah I'm pretty lucky to have some solid shops close by.
When you said new town, the first thing that came to my mind was dead alive.
Another awesome video🤘💿🤘 .
Ordering online or picking up via discogs or fb groups is great fun and convenient as hell but i still love supporting actual record stores too and love seeing your videos doing the same. We are really lucky in Sydney to have as many physical record stores as we still do. Long may they reign.
Cheers for another entertaining shopping video. \m/
Thanking you mate, and I agree! It's a lot of fun to go crate diving.
00:03 - "Australian man astonished at the sight of a weird image appearing on top of his McBurger"
It wouldn't be the first time!
Diggin is always fun, a specially when you found something to buy. Even saw for the moment vinyl of Kat from my country. Cool video and your collection.
Yeah man! That Kat is excellent, already have an older pressing of that.
What a great day
Great update mate, Wish i could rewind your video hit you up and tell you to pick up that black seed Ep for me hahaha, good haul man!! 🍻🍻
Hahah oh man hit them up on instagram, they will likely post it to you.
@ExplosiveAction think I may have to haha cheers mate!
Another very cool metal shopping trip 🤘Seven Spires I think I’ve heard of before but never checked out. Maybe something I can sink my teeth into
You might dig them mate! I just love Adrienne's voice.
great Video Love the shopping trips
Thanks for watching!
Good old shopping video made my night😮
Glad you dig them!
Definitely would have picked up the Disciples of Power vinyl for sure. Great video, really like watching your shopping videos.
@@fredfoyston9952 thanks mate! Yeah they have been there a while.
You have convinced me to get Hyperdontia on vinyl.
Hooray!
Love your videos mate, defo going to check out Coprolith 👍🏻
Awesome!
I used to travel from guildford to the Sydney about every second weekend. There used to be a bunch of records stores. Utopia, martins, redeye, Ashwoods, lawsons as well as every little suburb had a record store.
Oh man, I'm nostalgic for Ashwoods and especially Lawson's. The CBD is pretty gentrified and dull now
@ExplosiveAction do you remember Goulds book arcade . I think it was on George St. I used to get posters and bootleg LPS from there. I used to go to utopia. When it first opened and it was downstairs in Martin place. Town hall station had a record store called anthem records. I am a 63 year old metal head. I grew up with judas priest iron maiden motorhead sabbath etc.
@@jamesw4895 Goulds I only knew of their massive Newtown warehouse, that was enourmous. Anthem sounds before my time. I used to love going to the various Red Eye incarnations; there was one on the far side of the QVB that had a second story dedicated to metal for a while in the early 2000s.
Jim Jones and the Kool Ade kids are from West Michigan. My old friends. Cool to see it in your local shop.
That's neat! Yeah Dark Descent has reissued it recently and made a point to remind people the music is great, only the name is goofy haha
@@ExplosiveAction The guitarist owns a record store here named Third Coast. I'll have to show him your video.
I got that Hyperdontia album. It was the last pre-order vinyl I ever bought and won't be buying pre-order again. It got delayed and delayed, then arrived with the label on the day they closed for holidays. Took about a month to arrive. Then, when it arrived, found the artwork was really fuzzy/not sharp at all, so messaged the band and matey. The band said 'not our problem' and nothing back from matey at the label. Recently, I've bought from other labels and they've sent damaged goods, wrong versions and wrong orders enteritly. It seems QC these days is very slack. Face to face, or not at all is the new rule. Appreciate these record store visit videos as this seems to be the only way to get a good idea of what you're buying.
I definitely don't pre-order records or CDs. There's no real point in Australia pre-ordering something international anyway that has day and date release through retailers, as the retailers in my experience get their copies first as they buy wholesale bulk. I do buy online though, and sometimes of course you get damaged stuff, but a lot of that is down to picking your distros - NWN, Iron Bonehead, Osmose, Amor Fati etc all pack well and my local distros too. But I do love buying in a shop.
@@ExplosiveAction I get in the flow with some bands. This was one of those moments. When a pre-order comes along, on a UK label, it's hard not to. But, I totally felt letdown by this. I also had a bad experience with a Paypal deal. The pre-order went past 3 months they over sold and I didn't get it. About £100 gone.
Either the record is in front of me, or from a very trusted trader, or not at all. Limiting this way isn't too smart, but sometimes, when you been screwed over so many times, it's time to let this go. I've seen it all over with nearly 40 years of collecting. Missing post (soooo many times), rip off sellers, fakes, missing booklets and posers, the record folded in half to get through the letterbox, over charging/under charging on postage, records between pieces of wood scratched to shit, sleeves stapled together and address held on naked cover with glue. Packages left in the rain, packages thrown by couriers at the house. Ugh!
I'm totally cool with shops, let someone else deal with that stuff innit. Rant over (for now) haha.
Hi Simon!!! i think you're right some bands are just Cd type and others vinyl, might not be right or wrong but it's just the wway it is, lol...... I think i might enjoy Seven Spires, liked the way you described their music. Btw with a band name Coprolith, you must know what you're going to get and the band logo, omg!!! cheers and be well
Coproloth don't need any hints! Haha
Awesome metal shopping video just got done listening to Infernal Torment Man’s True Nature cd 1995
Some great Hyperdontia slabs. Need to listen to that Coprolith.
It's foul and you need to hear it!
No mention for the Nocturnal Graves CD? Killer album
I need to go to Newtown! Never been to those places
Definitely worth it!
@@ExplosiveAction I live between Griffith and Wagga so bit of a trek. Next time I go to Sydney I will
I really like that Tardy Brothers album 😄
Hey I'm glad to hear it's decent then! The cover was horrible lol
It’s something of a guilty pleasure. To be filed next to Haunted by Six Feet Under.
@@thrashman8319 yeah I just gave it a quick spin online and that's a pretty accurate comparison
5:27 That new Heresiarch is killer. Recommended if you haven't heard.
I have it! Just haven't gotten to show it yet.
That hamburger looks delicious!
Cheeky Macca's quarter pounder lol
We have lost so many recordshops here where i live through the years
That's so sad. We have too, but luckily some remain.
@@ExplosiveAction And i also went on an shoppingspree today. Got myself some Saxon, Overkill, Slayer and Wintersun.
Repressed are excellent..I just ordered Tzompantli from them...that album is heavy af
A great shop with a just as great online shop! And agreed, Tzompantli crushes.
@@ExplosiveAction Tzompantli surprised me actually....I didn't think I'd like it,but then found myself listening to it over and over ....so it had to be purchased in the physical format of course...cheers for the vid.. shopping trip ones rule and I think you are the only guy I've seen doing them
Thanks man!
Like and share the video everyone
Recently sold my Beherit vinyls - I have tried and tried but just think they are awful - same with Blasphemy - guess I am just not into that war metal stuff. I have those Ectoplasma vinyls , good shit ! I love The Kill - brilliant band - rip ! New Nocturnus is great, seem to never disappoint. Love Cryptopsy, but that album is a turd lol - I have it on vinyl but got it as a freebie - which would make a great frisbee
Yeah that Cryptopsy was when I stopped lol. I know they came back better after but it's honestly all been quite bland. These days I stick to the first two with Lord Worm only. As for Beherit, all you really need is Drawing Down the Moon, but if you don't like that then try it again in a year. I hated it for ages.
@ExplosiveAction yeah honestly mate Drawing down the moon is just over rated tosh.
@@under-one-flag I love it lol. But it took me a decade to understand it. All good if you don't like it!
🤘🤘🤘
Homovore was a score. That andf Humsn Jerky are their best album.
I remember the shit Cryptopsy got for that album..only one or two songs have the suck in them though. I slaw thrm on that tour snd they gladly never played them...
I didn't grab the Cattle, just not a fan really. And yeah that Cryptopsy caused a stir lol
@ExplosiveAction Yeah the first two sound nothing like the later albums. I tapped out of them a couple albums ago.
Too bad you skipped on Slaveslate, it's awesome. Also, it's a 58 minute EP!
Oh wow it's that long?! I dunno, I see the word "remix" on the back and my mind goes back to Fear Factory Remanufacture disco LP lol.
Godflesh is great. I'm not a big fan of Jesu (too sad for me), but everything Broadrick puts out is guaranteed to be at least good. Have you heard Ice?
No don't know that one!
@@ExplosiveAction Give it a listen if you're into odd trip-hop. Under The Skin is almost 100% instrumental and makes for good background music. I don't know how much involvement Broadrick had, to be honest.
