We're the nerdy married couple, and in this video we officially start our blind first time playthrough + reaction of the beloved and classic video game "The Last of Us" This is our FIRST TIME REACTION to the game, where we follow humanity after the rise of the cordyceps zombies and focus on the stories of Joel, Tess, Marlene, Ellie, and so on! In this episode is our reaction to the beginning of The Last of Us, and we see what happened to Joel's family... We are so looking forward to continuing this journey with you all!

Here's a hint for you: If Ellie is crouched then there is an enemy/infected around, if she stands up or is standing then you're good.

hey guys, you just skipped all the buildings and safe in billy's town :D remember check all doors too, and save ur shivs to unlock those doors.
When you find a safe combination written on something, there is a safe in the area. They're often behind counters or in the office of a store. Find it and put in the combination to get a bunch of goodies. Usually parts and supplements.
Also there's sometimes health items inside of vending machines, deli counters, and cars. Break the glass with a melee attack to get it. If there's infected in the area they'll hear it and come running. You can use this to set traps or run away and throw a moltov when they all collect at the car or vending machine.

Love seeing yall experiencing this game. Its one of my favs of all time. A small bit of advice. Be naturally a little more curious. Resources are scarse and you need to search the entire area to make sure you have enough to craft materials, get medicine to level up etc. Its early in the game right now so it wont hurt so much but this will become much more important later on.

*_TIP:_* Weapons that load one round at a time (ex. revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle) will stop loading more if you interrupt it by aiming. This oversight will make tense situations worse if you don’t stop aiming when you empty your gun, resulting in repeatedly loading and firing just a single shot over and over again. This most often happens with the revolver, especially when hanging from Bill’s trap, adding needless difficulty.

U gotta look carefully or u will look over lots of stuff. Theirs alot of places where stuff is hidden kinda good. But ya I have seen yall miss alottt of stuff so far!! And I don’t want yall having hard time later on bcuz u don’t have enough supplements to upgrade Joel or parts to upgrade ur weapons at work bench. I have seen yall walk past alot of stuff try look a lil harder and more carefully. And consider turning on the settings I mentioned above 😊 it’ll help u tons

Ellie doesn’t know how to whistle, and the blowy sound she makes creeps Joel out before he realizes it’s her making the weird noise.

Ellie finds a busted Mortal Kombat inspired arcade machine in a restaurant. She says she had a friend that told her all about it, and she wishes she could play it. Joel says he was never a fan of video games, being all meta.
Ellie finds lawn gnomes in a gardening store and you learn she likes to draw.
E: “Hey, look Joel! Gnomes!”
J: “Yeah, those are gnomes.”
“Aw, man. I had an colouring book filled with these. I always thought they were super cute. Not fairies though, those things creep me out.”

56:56 Bill has been mentioned several times. Bill scavenges things you can’t get inside a QZ, then trades with Tess for things he can’t get outside the QZ. He’s the smuggling partner on the outside. Tess ran the operation, Bill was the scavenger, Robert did intercity trading, and Joel was muscle.

Yall r walking past a lot of very useful stuff. Supplements and parts. U def need those for later parts of game. Especially since yall r on hard mode. Like I commented on other video. Go to accessibility settings and go to navigation and turn on enhance listen mode. It’ll let u scan for enemies and items while in listen mode. It’ll show u the location of enemies and items !!! Plz do it. Ur walking past stuff yall rlly neee

1:09:42 Almost everyone makes this section so much harder for themselves by not reloading fully. Given how common the issue is, I wonder how the developers could have made it clearer.

Lemme give you guys a life saving tip they tell you the only thing you can use is shivs to kill clickers that’s not true you can sneak up on one with a brick out and press the hit button 4 times I believe and it kills the clicker
Better yet, only three times!
@@TukaihaHithlec yeah I knew it was one of the two I got pretty decent at this game after my first play through I believe I had 6 deaths on my second play through in normal mode I didn’t know you could hit with brick at bottles until my second play through aswell
@@Noahdaking2 There’s lots of really handy tips that most people seem to never try, or even notice is recommended. Quick-throw auto-targeting to stun and then instakill enemies is a big one.
I think I learned every move, option, and detail before my first playthrough ended, but there were a couple tricks I learned after. For example, the shiv master skill makes it impossible to melee clickers without being grabbed if you have a shiv on you, which is a big that ruins the skill entirely. As for the brick, it breaks on the third consecutive strike, but you can hit with it a dozen times as long as you only strike twice in a row before stopping and repeating.
It’s been awhile since I played the first game and it wasn’t the remake. But in the second game, the characters you’re with CAN get spotted by enemies which is a cool touch.
1:09:16 You get an ammo multiplier in this section. It doesn’t tell you how much you have and it’s almost impossible to run out. I didn’t know it was possible, but one channel was so bad that they ran out of ammo and had to abandon the game at this part.
Maybe you’ve learned by now, but you should really keep your weapons loaded. Press the trigger button while not aiming to reload. Trying to aim before finishing ends the reload prematurely, which is why you kept shooting and reloading only one bullet at a time here.

The HBO show is definitely one of the best video game to tv adaptations I've ever seen. It's not just a repeat of the story, I feel like the were able to add a lot to it.

Here goes. All new surprises in this section of the game.
The "zombies" are called Infected. That encompasses runners, stalkers, clickers, bloaters, etc. Infected are still alive, whereas zombies are actually dead. So it's not technically right to call infected "zombies". It is believed that each stage of the infection takes a couple of years to progress. So, a clicker is someone infected for quite a while.
Another tip is that if you're sprinting / full on running, then it means that the danger zones aren't over and there are still enemies around. Same with your ally crouching - it means that you should still be on the lookout for enemies or infected around.

Don't take this as hate, and it may just be me, but sometimes I feel like Eric gets a bit backseaty in tense situations. I know the feeling, but just know, we aren't watching for a perfect no-death run, watching a new player experiment and fail until something sticks is awesome, and what makes a first playthrough special!

If you don't watch the series, at least watch E3. I started there. Had no intention of watching a "zombie show." Not my thing. But there was so much hubbub about E3 I decided to check it out. As you may have heard, it's one of the best episodes of TV ever! Well, I was hooked. Started the show at the beginning and have seen it dozens of times now, through reactions. Still obsessed over a year later. It's practically perfect in every way. Please consider giving it a watch.. You'll be glad you did. Only 9 episodes! Nothing to lose.
Are you kidding??? It is by far the worst episode, nothing to do with the game, and is absolutely political. I was so hyped for TV series since I love the game and seeing the trailers. I still watched the entire 1st season, but episode 3 had me very close to stopping.
P.S. Hollywood and politics always find a way of ruin something great
@@anthonyzarate9807 Episode three has its fair criticisms, but you’d save more time by just admitting to being homophobic.
Everything is “political”. You apparently have no idea how much this game was criticized back in 2013 just for having a more realistic fourteen-year-old girl as one of the main characters. Naughty Dog got backlash from Sony for making Ellie more prominent than Joel on the boxart when they were told to remove her completely.
@@TukaihaHithlec That is a typical claim. What I said has nothing to do with being homophobic. Will & Grace is one of my fav sitcoms. The problem is that that episode was NOT made as part of the story of the game and TV show, but all about politics and appeasing the new "thing" in Hollywood.
P.S. Nothing wrong with a 14 year old being one of the main protagonist though. That is how the game was made, and it is one of my all-time favorite games. Now if they made her superhuman and unrealistic, that would be a big problem.

You are paying for the game, but it bothers me that you don't look for supplements, bullets, kits, etc. Don't be in a rush to look for these items, they may be really missed 👍🏻
