This channel is an attempt to chronicle my life and adventures since arriving in the Republic of the Philippines on November 26, 2013. This is my first time taking video and editing, so please bear with the process. Hopefully, I will get better over time!! I hope you enjoy the videos and get something out of them. Just a comment....You are correct....so many people are mislead when they hear about the Filipina women....they are the most beautiful and loving women on this planet....I myself have found my true love in the pinas also and I could not ask for a more loving and caring wife......keep the videos coming.....they have and are a great help to me.....my retirement is in a few years and theses videos are a good resource.....salamat the two of you look great together

Our Beach cottages in Hugom go from 5-7000 pesos a month. We rent our beach cottage out for 3500-5000 pesos nightly. Our net is good.

Beautiful video, Ned! Our lot is not quite that close to the beach - more like across the street from the beach - but it made me homesick to see it. Another 6 months and we'll be there. Our house will be like the one shown at 1:48 but on stilts, so we can park our jeep underneath. We like that they have armed security there - you're not far from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao; asawa ko is always concerned for my Kano self and daughter when we are there, but Batangas is pretty safe. Maybe some day you and Michell would like to visit us in Lian? Cheers!

15 yrs ago in Cebu, sitting poolside, only one at pool waiting for my fiance, now wife to get off work, I heard the gate clang , and to my great fortune the "Miss Cebu" pageant contestants came in for their bathing suit photo shoot. It was a great afternoon. Later, when my fiance arrived, she asked how my day was and what I did..."boring", just sat at the pool"....

Every time. Going down to an empty pool area for a swim and reading, the need for a camera alluded me. The security that accompanied the contestants were at the gate to make sure no one entered during the shoot, going to get my camera was not an option....

Of that group, Michelle exudes inner beauty and intelligence. I saw that video of you and other vbloggers at a restaurant. The women were not talking to each other. They are so different in their demeanors. The older woman doesn't seem to be interested in knowing the other women; Lyn (?) seemed to feel inferior compared to the other two. She seemed to avoid Michelle. Michelle seemed out of place as the educated one. After observing other vbloggers, I think I can learn a lot from you and Michelle. I can follow your vblog. Michelle has a good giving heart as well. Keep up the good work and hope your back is feeling better.

+chris sullivan Storm surge from a typhoon would seriously damage or wipe out low-lying coastal places like this. Thankfully, typhoons rarely hit this area - most swing NW towards Luzon.
So, depending on the exchange rate........according to my math 20,000 pesos works out to be around $445 a month US, lets call it $450. That price for a house right on the beach is a steal, I would pay that in a heartbeat.

Yes, those 4 girls were beautiful and cute [the one in green and black was the cutest], but the make-up artist was just as attractive if not more.
That's only 454.00 a month. Coming from US you can not even rent an apartment for that. I would definitely live by the beach.

That's a pretty good price considering the location. I've looked at some places here in Cebu City for that price and the view included either the brick wall surrounding your house or under construction buildings. It will be nice when we finally move out of the city. Anyway, your friends got a pretty nice place there:)

Lucky you. not all of us want to pay that much for a place in phils, call us cheap charlie if u wish.. i met one guy bragging about getting 6 pinays at the same time...he threw his money around and had fun. Of course many got a fair deal or big gains in life to have $2-5K pensions and they can live grand. rent is just one expense and if on a limited budget and having to pay immigration fees and the rest u need to pay for, it's pushing it for many. I think about the p5K per night hotels there, whether waterfront or marco polo, the guys who can afford those hotels must be getting the pretty girls and using them as i heard many stories from pinays who let things happen, even in losing their virginity to rich old men, many of whom were married.

I have watched a few of your videos. It seems very nice where you are. My question is, you mentioned and armed guard at the home you are visiting. What are the gun laws in the Philippines? Can you own a rifle or a pistol for self protection? Just curious as you also stated that there are people there who are not so friendly.

oh nice. i have a filipino friend from there that worked with me in afghanistan. i lived in cebu for a year, and married my wife there aswell. we were paying 18,000 per month for a new condo studio. it was nice till a earthquake hit and cracked all the walls in it and scared the heck out of us. lol. that place you showed on the beach for 20,000 per month looks really nice though. we are wanting to go back there soon to live perm. just waiting on some things to finish up here in the states first.
So in the end it was all only just a dream???

Where do I sign up? Only problem is, what are the typhoons like in that area though? Also, since it's far away from the city, is there any nightlife at all? Even a karaoke bar?
Dumaguete is only about 25 minutes from Dauin. Typhoons are not too big of any issue - they usually hook north towards Luzon and Leyte. If not, the islands to the east of us slow them down a bit....

+Curtis Powell That is an EXCELLENT point - I myself even get caught up in hesitating between 10 and 15 thousand, when in US dollars it's only a bit over a hundred dollars. At this point, I believe in spending more and being happy where you live - good security and lots of shade!!!

it just kills me. about 3 weeks ago at robinsons mall they started putting up christmas decorations. ooh and it only gets better. i go home and turn on the radio, 3 weeks now all i get is filipino Christmas music. i thought my radio was defective. made in china. and then the Dumaguete festival happens. i dare you to try to drive or get a tricycle, or walk 3 blocks. but then it gets better. last sunday, i think it started at about 6 a,m, to 5 p.m. the brown out. they want you so bored out of your mind that you will want to go to church. but hey. the giant LED light thing at the church was cool looking. ohh 3 days ago in Dumaguete. yet another school pride festival. did you see the girls wearing CD's like swim suits with brown. that was so cool even the tricycle drivers was going to crash. people was so happy, that even in stopped, blocked traffic. the tricycle drivers had a good time chatting to random people in the street. they ask me, where am i from, i say chicago, then i tell them i will give them 500 peso to take me there. and then wait to see who will say. yes to the deal. ooh at robinsons mall. you know you are in trouble if the parking guys pull out your bike and set up the rear stand for kick start when your rusi volt regulator stops working to charge up the battery for button push start. they all get a real kick out of seeing a white guy pop up the back wheel to kick start a bike because he will not spend money to get a new volt regulator. ohhh. a street side vulcanize shop cost .80 u.s. cents to fix a tire tube. 35 peso. fix-a-flat in a can at robinsons mall handyman store is 490 peso. a new tire is only 485 peso. so dont waste your money on the fix-a-flat stuff. and it does not work on inner tubes. it even says so on the can. it makes the problem more worse. ooh last week at about 1 a,m, if you have a cheap metal roof. it sounded like golf ball sized rain. now that was what i call fun. thinking the roof was going to cave in from just rain.
