That was very helpful. Glad to see that your back on CZcams.
Glad it was helpful!
Good to be back!
Cheers
Thank you! I have been struggling to comprehend VLAN concept, your video showing on how to do it from the scratch helps alot.
Glad it helped.
Cheers
Great vid thanks
No problem 👍
any chance you could make a updated truenas scale trefik guide? im think the old one is pretty outdated now and ive been having issues getting it set up
Where to set static ip for a device? Where to allow only device with right MAC address?
Do I need Unifi Switch that vlans keep separated? Is different ip group not enough?
In other videos where they show how to create rules they only do two: 1) first one to allow established and related from IOT to Main 2) drop all from IOT to Main
Doesnt this do the same thing?
is het possible to tag vlan100 on the wan on a unifi cloud gateway ultra?
Can you do a video where a wired client with a web browser such as a Windows or Mac computer is presented with a captive portal asking for a username and password or just a password before that wired client can go to the Internet? It's basically a captive portal for wired clients. I don't want to use an external RADIUS server for the authentication, but something that is inside the Unifi Gateway Ultra itself.
I have a work area that is accessible by the public. It has a network jack that is used by authorized computers. However, an intruder at night or even during business hours can plug his own laptop into this jack to access the Internet. By having a captive portal, this person would need to put in a username and password to be able to grant network access.
Hi, what is your advice…the Cloud Gateway Ultra of Max? I have a 1Gb Ethernet connection and I only use the network option in Unifi because my cameras are from Eufy.
The Max gives you 2.5 gbps internet (1.5 gbps with IPS), which you don't need, and UniFi Protect for cameras, which you don't need. I think that answers your question.
@@PriceyBuilt true, but I saw the Max has a better throughput with more devices?
@@bryancamphens The throughout is as I mentioned. If you only have a 1 gbps link, the Ultra will give you a full 1 gbps. The Max won't improve on that unless you upgrade your internet link. They both do "30+" UniFi devices and 300+ clients.
@@PriceyBuilt clear, thanks a lot!
@@PriceyBuilt one more question, I’m looking for the Cloud Gateway because I use the UDR at this moment, and I get a max throughput of +- 600 and not the 1Gb or around that number. You think the Ultra can give me more throughput?
