@@Disconnected66 It's a bit silly 'cause the person right after who gifted him Carne Asada Tacos did a *far* better job. Like why spoil one of the fun surprises of the latter half of the story with an airbike? Just gift him a hundred tacos, or an alpaca related thing. Idk, people don't think sometimes.
I would absolutely love it if the journey leads us to find out more about Azem. After Pandaemonium I’ve felt Azem somehow knows more about us than we do them and that needs to change ASAP.
Azem knowing so much has convinced me we will somehow unintentionally rejoin ourself with our shard selves, perhaps they die next to us and since we are there when they die, the soul rejoins with us instead of that shards life stream because maybe soul shards are drawn to each other. Once we accidentally fully rejoin ourselves, we will travel back to ancient times to experience that world AND set our ARR and beyond selves up by sending Themis to Panda and allowing ourselves to be sundered. It’s the way I imagine they would end ff14 if they ever decided to do a last expansion. It would explain why ancient azem knows all, and would have the story end up as a closed time loop for our character and their soul.
@@LiljaMothingway I have speculated about this myself since it seems Azem knows about them needing to be sundered (even if they opposed the Convocation I don't think they would just up and leave and get banned unless they knew something) and they knew about us meeting Themis... In my headcanon we go back to Elpis and meet ourselves, tell them everything and they take it from there.
I also have a headcanon/theory of us going back in time and being the Warrior of Light that helps Louisoix with that whole bit because he becomes a primal that doesn't temper people, and we know how that is done now which they didn't back then and when when everyone (including us) forgets about most of it that can even be us using Kairos to set up the start of ARR :D

Hythlodaeus told Venat in passing how Azem jumped into a volcano and hoped to regale the tell to her .... we did that in StormBlood already ....

Even setting aside the most common complaints(mainly about Wuk) in the MSQ, they really need to come up with better pacing to start off. It took 4 hours to leave the city and not just be doing "talk to x person" quests, and one meaningful cutscene.

Aldenard is sort of a mish-mash of Western Europe, North Africa, and the Middle-East. Vylbrand (Limsa Lominsa) oozes Mediterranean (think Iberia plus southern France). Gridania is probably supposed to be more like the Black Forest of Germany. Ul'dah is very much North Africa with some Middle-Eastern flair. Gyr Abania (Ala Mhigo) is sort of the Iranian Plateau or maybe Asia Minor (Turkey). Ishgard is Switzerland/Rhone Valley.
@@tiredgamer9767 Personally I would argue Gyr Abania is more like the Levant, like Lebanon and Jordan, lots of Ala Mhigan architecture seems to be designed after the ruins of Petra too. But yea there's places in Turkey and Iran that can work too.
But Ul'dah is 100% North Africa complete with baobab trees, Sahara-like desert in Southern Thanalan, savannah in Pagl'than, and Byzantine-Ottoman architecture. And Egyptian ruins.
There's a sidquest about the merchant with the box of crystals on the boat.
