I think the main difference is that the U.K. one is an accurate albeit massively exaggerated version of everyone’s school life. The situations they find themselves in are obviously played up for comedy effect, but the characters, conversations, and situations are all normal. You would as a 16-17 year old lad be obsessed with sex, girls, alcohol, drugs, but on the exterior still try to study & maintain good grades.
The US version just seems to copy the entire series almost scene for scene & word for word. Which is stupid. 16 year old kids in the USA aren’t gonna be trying to get into bars and clubs because the legal age is 21 & not 18. Even with a fake ID an American 15 year old isn’t gonna be trying to get into bars because it’s absolutely obvious they’re underage. Things like that could have worked if they were like 19-20 at the time, but then they’d be in college anyway and it wouldn’t be about being “in between” because they’d be adults.
tbh i cant think of anything in the show that is overly exaggerated. I could pinpoint stories that match like every episode lol.
@charg1nmalaz0r51 Of course it's exaggerated. No one actually talks like that 24/7. Don't be silly.
Load of crap your obviously not British
@@c_n_b almost every british secondary school kid in the 2000’s spoke exactly like this, and everyone knew someone like the guys
I hate to follow up "The Inbetweeners" with "UK" because it is an implicit reminder that the US version exists. To me "The Inbetweeners" means one thing, and one thing only.
Most American adaptations gives off the same vibe as a child who hears adults laughing at a joke, and then tries to repeat the joke to other people without context, and then gets confused when they don't laugh.
Very nicely put.
The best part of the US Inbetweeners is that Will’s Mum is still fit 😂
*Drifters* (2013-2016) = The female Inbetweeners, starring *Jessica Knappett* (The Inbetweeners Movie & Taskmaster), *Lydia Rose Bewley* (The Inbetweeners Movie), *Lauren O'Rourke* (The Inbetweeners Movie), and *Bobby Hirston* (The Inbetweeners Movie), created by *Jessica Knappett,* and executive produced by The Inbetweeners creators *Damon Beesley* and *Iain Morris.*
Can’t believe you’ve done this 😆😆😆 you now officially know the truth about America trying to copy the UK 😆
I think the issue was trying to copy/paste such a British show based on British school kids with such British jokes that was so well loved for its relatability to British school life for an American audience was the problem. Had they just made a version true to American school life it probably would have worked and would at least be relatable in the US. Americans already liked the UK version, idk why they made the same show but with American actors. It's a shame tbh this could have been a good opportunity to shake up US TV if it was done well, especially in rising the expectation of quality and realism in teen shows.
The Inbetweeners UK will always be the best
I'm surprised the US remake lasted one season
9:37 I agree with you. It’s not even that annoying or noticeable. It’s not a point that needs bringing up as it’s not that noticeable. Also I g big hug is herd it somewhere before but I can’t thing where haha. Something probably similar done but someone else
I love your channel and Thank you for sharing this ✅🇬🇧👵
👍🏼
Jesus.....I've just noticed something. They showed a part of the opening credits on the American, Inbetweeners and it's directed by, Taika Waititi (he of, JoJo Rabbit, fame). So not such a good director because much of it's shortcomings are down to the direction. How did he get anyone in Hollywood to trust him and his ability again after this?
American Inbetweeners..? Just leave it alone USA 🤨
Unfortunately I watched the US version before I discovered the UK version 😩but the girls in the US version do look better 😌
Even better than Big Kezza?
That's important, if you're a weirdo who rubs one out to sitcoms.
@@dazediss6629 lol definitely
