The song was actually written for Ana Belén whose performance was pretty incredible too. Listen to her. She has an amazing cover of Piano man by Billy Joel. She is a symbol of democracy and tolerance in the last 40 years. She is an actress of films series and theatre. Pablo Alboran is even more famous than Pablo Lopez not only in Spain but in France Portugal and LatinAmerica. He also plays the piano and the guitar. Even in the States is famous for his song Tabú with Ava Max. I reccommend you several duets of him. Especially "Perdóname" with Carminho and Solamente tú with Diana Navarro. In french with the singer Zaz and " Sous le ciel de Paris". Both Pablos are fantastic. Pablo Alboran appeared as a freelance in several videos uploaded in youtube and it was the audience who made him an idol. Pablo Lopez began in a talent show called Operaciön Triunfo getting the 4th place. As always a true pleasure hearing from you. Thanks for your love to Spain. This is quite an special song. It was composed by Joaquín Sabina (a really, really well known poet and musician here in Spain) for Ana Belén (a really, really well known singer, she sang a "Piano man" version, by Billy Joel). Sabina later on also performed another version of this, his own song.
Lyrics are a bit hard to understand. I'd say the song is about a past complex relationship, but there's a curious difference: this is Sabina's version, as the first verse says "Se peinaba a lo garçon". Ana Belén's version instead starts with "Se llama Alain Delon". The history is the same, but Sabina's version talks about a woman, whereas Ana Belén's version talks about a man :)
