After Dimash’s SOS performance went viral in China on the Singer programme, everyone was talking about Dimash’s range and wondering just how high he could sing - this was Dimash’s playful response! Dimash was homesick by the time this episode was done. He was the youngest contestant, in a foreign country, didn't speak the language, etc. He was ready to quit and go home. His dad, Kanat, the one you see at the end of the video, showed up this night to surprise him. Dimash said in a later interview about this performance(paraphrased), If I would have know my dad was going to be there I wouldn't have been so cheeky. I hate reacting to anything to just try and get views etc. I always want to react with honesty and not for ulterior motives. I see that way too much on CZcams and I never did like it. Dimash is so humble. You will see it if you watch more of him. On this Singer episode he was homesick and did not know his father had come to join him in China. He was overjoyed to see him after he finished the song. And backstage the first thing he asked his dad was whether he did well. lol.
I am so happy you are back and I really really liked this review as well. I have seen some more songs of Vitas and I guess those performances with his seird outfits was a huge part of his image. I will not comment any more but there habe been some nasty cpmments from both fan groups unfortunately and all I can say is that Dimash has never ever said something negative of another artist. He even took the very unfair remarks and comments when he withdraw from the american show the worlds best with such a grace (but those eyes can talk loud). Would have suggested you had started with Vitas and then Dimash as to be more immediatly able to comment Dimash's adaptations. In Dimashs video you could se some views of a man standing more or less in the shadows. That is Dimash father Kanat who had flew in and Dimash was unaware of his presence just until the last of the performance. You can see Dimash leaping and hugging his dad afterwards in the Singer full clip. I am really looking forward to your coming videos and Dimash days! Love from 🇸🇪.
hi Portia good to hear from you again. It's a shame how people have to be. It's a bigger shame that some people don't want ot celebrate greatness but would rather try and destroy it. While ever Dimash weathers the storm with grace as it seems he has so far then he will cope. I tend to look at people who hate on others as being insecure to a point where they feel they need to be nasty like that. There is plenty of room in the music world for Dimash and Vitas to have great careers withouth getting in each others way but some people hate sharing the spotlight because they are scared the spotlight will shine brighter on someone else.
As for the order I did the singers I didn't really think about it since I was not comparing them. I was judging each on their own merit. Which is why even though Dimash went 2 more times higher than Vitas I still scored Vitas full points for his vocal and only knocked off that half point for his performance from an acting point of view. If I had been doing a comparison video then yes I would have absolutely put Vitas first. Also if Vita's original version was the best then it would have stood out first or second. The fact it was lacking shows it wasn't as good as Dimash's version :)

DIMASH - more that 6 octaves of range, since 5 y.o. he is studying and practicing music. He singing any style you can think of in 12 languages, play 7 instruments and dancing as well. Oh, almost forgot... composer and songwriter. Believe me, he is the only one on the planet. This song was just a gentle breeze from the up coming tornado. Welcome on the board of the Crazy Mouse. His absolutely perfect body comes equipped with auto tuning device, extra lungs, beautiful face, incredible charisma and more than 6 octaves angelic voice. Dimash is GODdamn perfect. Loved listening to your reaction. The next one is The Show Must Go On, Queen cover. His English was minimal then, so his pronunciation isn’t great, he has improved greatly since then 🤗🇬🇧
I am looking forward to hearing him sing The Show Must Go On. I am a big fan of Queen so it will be amazing. As for his English pronunciation I really don't care. Only a very poor reactor would mark someone down for how they pronounce words in a language they are fluent in. So how well he sings in English will have no effect on my score for him :)

I can understand Pauline that the pausing makes you grind your teeth. I try to always make sure that every time I pause though I have something new to say. I see some reactors keep pausing and repeating what they said earlier in the video making the pause kinda unnecessary. Also I do always take the video back a little so nothing is missed at all. I love the playfulness Dimash exhibits in this song. He’s downright flirting with the audience. And I agree that the lilting music almost belies the lyrics. The Vitas performance was quite good, but I also agree that his voice lacks the richness of Dimash’s; his high notes are more like whistle tones to my ears. Though I’m certainly not an expert! You are right that DImash's tone is so much richer than Vitas also if you look there is tension in Vitas when he goes for the high notes whereas Dimash shows no tension. It really makes a difference in many ways with and without tension. So everything you said was correct :)
Dimash is ALWAYS totally immersed in the music. You can see him at the beginning concentrating/focusing; and at the end it takes several seconds to re-enter reality.
Are you aware that after Dimash’s performance, Vitas filed a lawsuit to forbid Dimash from ever performing Opera 2 again.

Hi Robert. Thank you for your kind words I really do appreciate them. Don't worry I won't listen to the haters. I have been doing CZcams long enough to have a thick skin by now. However I don't really seem to get haters. All the Dears are so incredibly nice and supportive. Even those that think I talk to much are nice about how they say it. Like I said in a reply to a comment in S.O.S, Dimash is a once in a lifetime singer and the Dears are a once in a lifetime fanclub. You were all meant to be together :)

Did you ever consider doing audio books? something to think about.....As to Vitas....he attempted to sue Dimash for singing this song....it didn't work..but Dimash graciously agreed not to sing it again...Other singers like Lara Fabian and Celine and Han Hong sent Dimash well wishes and respect when he sang one of their songs...Just goes to show the difference between Jealousy and graciousness ..

It is a shame Vitas reacted the way he did. That only showed insecurity and jealousy to the person. A shame when anyone reacts like that when they are all in the same industry. I once heard someone say "Your peers love you on the way up but some will hate you when you're on top" seems that is true here :)
Frankly, I don't think he ever intended to sing it, he only did it because he was asked. It never was a part of his repertoire before the contest and generally isn't his style.
Yeah, Dimash singing his song could had brought the old man back into the limelight gave him a second childhood. His loss.
My understanding from Kanat (Dimash’s father) is that it was the Singer programme/Hunan TV that the legal issues were with not Dimash. Also, Dimash did sing Opera 2 on several occasions before this and there is video footage available. Plymouth UK 🇬🇧

I like to listen to you. As someone wrote, you can do audiobooks. It is good that you tell us how you are going to do this reactions and you are telling that in such a nice way.
When it comes to Vitas I think it is important with some compassion. Some people (not you LordUg) make fun of Vitas. This was his song from the beginning. He wrote it and he created a style. It will be difficult for Dimash too to sing very high when he becomes older. It is a bit sad when aging in voice isn't allowed by the listeners so the artist has to fake. It is interesting that Dimash catched us with songs like this and after a time takes us with him to songs without this amazing notes. It is not needed anymore. I am more catched by other expressions in his songs now. For example in Qairan where he sometimes sings with the voice of a child in emotional pain and does that with the same skill as he did with high notes earlier.

I heard this song opera 2 and Lionel Ritchie hello were two songs that dimash only performed publicly once. They said, he was prohibited from singer it again. Probably you know why.
I know you want to go with the whole the singer performance, skip the Bruno Mars song.
There’s two songs that you need to see via Gloria wu channel just because of its back story. The autumn strong and daybreak.
Daybreak should be done in a back to back performance. The singer and the BASTAU concert. You could see the difference in dimash voice while he was singing with a worst sore throat. And the other one is how it should be sing.
Am so looking for ways for the next dimash reaction. You are rocking it.
And whenever you get to Know, which is quite a while on down the line, do a double reaction of Know and Vocalise, with Know first. They are built on the same motif, one with words, one without, almost skat. Both beautiful in their own special way-both in my top 5.
Oh, and I have to say, I like the Bruno Mars song. I mean, it doesn't show his talent; it's not his kind of music; but he just acts like a kid having fun up there on the stage-which (because I'm 63, I can say this) is what he was at the time, after all. It's just cute-not a 10, but cute.

Yes, skip the Bruno Mars (Uptown Funk) song. That one suits Bruno Mars so much better. He can make fun of being sexy. His video is really great. Dimash looks like a fool in the clothes they put on him. Poor child. If you compare the two videos Mars is absolutely the best because he can do that style. Dimash was to young and is not that kind of person.
Yes, Dimash went 2 steps higher, which is why Vitas never allowed Dimash to sing the song again.
I think I've seen that Vitas performance you were talking about and I thought it rather strange too. I found myself not listening to the song anymore because I was gawking at him. Hee hee, if you're gonna do a comparison, you might want to start with the original singer because putting Dimash first makes anything afterwards seem kinda lacking!
Hi Sandra, you made me chuckle with your reply about the Vitas video I was referring to. Honestly it was a terrible performance. He was throwing himself about so much that I was too busy laughing to remember the song. Even a half sighted donkey could have seen that was not live.

Thank you for a new good reaction and, I Think ut sås a very fair reaction to two different singers. Both are very vocaly capable and worth great respect. Whos tone one prefere is a personal opinion.

Feel sad when some have a lot to say about why D don't have the right to sing Vitas song. Don't think anyone know all facts behind and therefore shouldn't speculate. And it is Vitas song. He is the one who composed it.

The poems were not written by Vitas. There were always doubts that he was the author of music. The copyright holder of this song was at one time his producer.
Dimash sang The Opera at the request of the organizers of the Chinese competition. It's a pretty sad song not for a young guy. But Dimash sang great.

Dimash has a much more animated stage presence, and for mind he does not have the same quality in tone and richness that Dimash has.

If you plan on doing 2 of Dimash, please do the same song, sang at different times; for exemple, Sinful Passion and Sinful passion Moscow, Samaltau official, and Samaltau Tokyo Jazz festival, Screaming Music Video, and Screaming Idol Hits, Know New Wave and Know Arnau; Diva Dance Bastau and Drunken Concubine with Diva Dance. you will see how he changes the songs every time and got even better with time.
I believe Dimash's highest note was actually E6 here, at least that's what everybody say. There is another performance of Opera 6 he did before he was forbidden to perform it, and I think there was E6s.
After I posted this I watched some of the vocal coach reactions and the ones I watched that did say the final note all said E-Flat. Also since the point of Opera 2 is to only go up a half step to show the control then since the first 2 high notes were both C6 then going up half step from there would be C-Sharp, D6 (with the staccato), then half a step would be E-Flat if he jumped a full step to E6 it would have sounded different.
Either way whatever the note was it was wonderful to hear :)

@@lordugspeaks2455 Thanks. Frankly, that's not important to me. Perhaps I just confused it with another song. I repeated what I though I heard. He went a lot higher in other songs anyway. For me, high notes are not that important, but how he makes me feel. Vitas doesn't interest me because he doesn't make me feel anything.

This is a very beautiful analysis, it seems that you are very experienced and knowlwdgable about music and listening to it was the purest pleasure and obviously i am counting on more Dimash reviews as i have been long time Dimash Dear (since 2017 and The Singer vompetition). Multumiri pentru comentariu, a fost foarte profesionist facut, chiar apreciez ca faceti comparatii, Dimash merita sa primeasca ce este al lui, cu alte cuvinte ce este al Cezarului sa fie dat Cezarului, iar el el mult prea bun, vocea lui exceptionala, si modul cum el a interpretat Opera 2 este o dovada clara. Vitas este bun, are calitati, dar din aceasta piesa Dimash a facut o o bijuterie autentica. Si in astfel de situatii poti sa realizezi caltatile lui exceptionale si cum stie el sa dimasuiasca o piesa care apartine altui cantaret. Este absolut remarcabil, rafinat si talentat la modul absolut!

Lara Fabian. Hyu Chenyu. Angelina Jordan. Are all great vocalist. I agree there is a couple of songs from the competition that is a must listen. He meets Igor Krutoy and he is a popular rich billionaire composer whose takes Dimash under his wings and then Dimash really sings songs out of this world. Lara Fabian sang with Igor too around 10 years ago.

I heard that Vitas has banned Dimash from ever performing that song again, because he outdid him...
Also...what makes dimash so special for me, is that he carries that warmth and darkness in his voice through all his registers, which makes them extra richtig and even his highest notes pleasent to listen to.
I guess I can see why. After Vitas stopped at the C-sharp, Dimash not only went one more step higher to D6 but then went a second time higher to E-Flat. So even though I don't compare them on the video, yes DImash left him behind vocally. What VItas did was really good, but Dimash can do more I think that is obvious :)

Does it look like vitas can sing so high on scene while he can't sing not so high in studio. Moreover, they say that vitas has been using the same record for this song for 20 years
@@theresab.1857 Exactly he does have a warmth and darkness in his tones that is why I thought he was a Baritone originally but someone in comments told me he said he was a temor. Tenors are usually a little brighter because their vocal folds are thinner than a baritone. But then again nothing about Dimash's voice is normal so maybe he is a tenor that has a Baritone's warmth and darkness :)

Vita was strutting around, showing off, mugging for the audience, but a little too self aware, sorta bragging, in a way. Dimash was sharing his voice in his performance-engaging in the "joke" of that "hold my beer" moment. I do like Vitas different vocal style, it's intriguing…they're both good, just different. But I'm drawn to Dimash in a way that I'm not drawn to Vitas.

I don't like Vitas as a person as he is actually very braggy and a bit of a narcissist in real life but I think the braggyness was part of the act lol

Actually the head wobble is caused by intense resonance reverberating in his head, it is an involuntary movement of the body as soundwaves propagate. Although I am serious about the audiobook.

А вообще первый исполнил эту композицию Витас! В России и в Китае все были на ушах! Просто обалдели!!!! Это было в 90 х годах!!!!
Не в 90-х, а в конце 2000. И на ушах были далеко не все )))
Но к записи ее готовили еще до отъезда в РФ. И называлась песня Галимой оперой, и аранжировка у нее была иной, как и пение Витали. ))))
Indeed Vitas is a great singer. It also looks spectacular but ... I didn't like seeing the musicians' heads covered with a black cloth as if Vitas didn't want them to take the limelight away. If I went to his performance I would find it excellent but I would not be excited, nor would I want to repeat it.

1) Diana Ankudinova, she is 18, if I am not mistaken, and from russia..she has a very unique voice...like a Cup of hot, velvety, dark chocolate...and dimash recommended her to his fans..
2) Aurora. She is an Artist from norway and her voice is like clear, cool water and her performances are intense and fearless..

We're happy with once a week. The lyrics of this song are weird 😄. For me Vitas is a little creepy...both performance and tone wise
Knowing me I will probably do more than once a week but now I am going to be doing doubles each video it certainly makes things better since I can still do the competition and enjoy some of his later works :)

You mentioned this is a new channel and you don't want to attract people just to up your views. In order for you to keep your channel I believe you have to have at least a thousand subscribers or CZcams will shut you down. Not sure if this is entirely true, you should check into it. So by all means, if you love Dimash, do more of him and build your channel. There is no dishonor in this as long as you give your viewers what they want. Just my humble opinion, please don't be offended. I personally like your reviews.

I don"t think the tone and quality in Vitas' voice is as not as beautiful as Dimashs'. He dosen"t have the same stage presence either.
