- Howdy, This bike started out as a 2002 YZ 250 was completely rebuilt from the frame up with a fresh KX500 engine. It was done by a local shop here Charlotte NC. My son sold it to help pay for his last semester at UNCC. I uploaded the video for the Facebook market place listing and it has over 100,000 views. I figure I will leave it up for the smile. In retrospect would have made a better video. Enjoy

Its obviously a Hill climb bike. So its custom suspension that much lower. Thats also one of the only reasons you would put such a motor in that bike

@@carsonNTSL adjusting the sag on the rear, or if he is too heavy for the rear spring get a heavier spring. Or if the rear shock is blown just get a whole new rear suspension setup all together.

@@MV-ri7zu No I don’t think that, I know how 2 strokes run. I’m a mechanic, a mix of gas and 2 stroke oil is put into the gas tank and when it gets squirted into the engine it lubricates the piston rods. When the piston goes down and the gas/oil mixture lubes the piston rods, in the cylinder itself the gas/oil mixture is combusting causing the motor to run. It smokes because when you burn oil it creates a white foggy smoke

This bike started out as a 2002 YZ 250 and has been completely rebuilt from the frame up with a fresh KX500 engine.
All work on the bike was professionally done by Total Control Racing in Burlington NC. including custom motor mounts, custom inverted forks and rear shock.
The Bike has a pro curcuit pipe, FMF silencer, excel wheels, renthal bars, nissin brake master cylinder, brakeaway clutch lever, all the goodies.
Wow, I am so sorry for my ill-educated comment about your build. That’s a genuinely impressive feat of mechanical work and I’m quite impressed by how much work you’ve put into this bike

I don’t think he’s running rich. All 2 strokes smoke a lot when they first start up and often times around idle. Only real problem here is probably the o ring seals in the exhaust pipe and rear suspension not adjusted right

My brother rode a yz 490 for a long time. Like a chainsaw unless you open it up it stays bogged down. Cr 500 they where NASTY best hill climber out there n 2 stroke is a different breed. Reed valves and spark every time the piston comes up, 10,000 rpms n str8 power once you clear the smoke.!
If he plans on not doing jumps the suspension is fine. Better stiffer suspension and this thing would be a motocross beast. Along with a little welding to the pipe we can see it leaking.
