My theory for why Willie starting killing everyone involved with the theft ring is because he saw the warning signs. Julia was threatening everyone, Henry decided to have her killed, Willie probably figured all bets were off and he couldn't trust anybody. I think the second Henry told him to kill Julia, he decided he would kill everyone who could possibly rat on him or turn on him before they had the chance to do so.
This case is so toxic.

Remember, the interrogation responses were originally Truth, Doubt or Lie when the game first came out. The rerelease changed it to Good Cop, Bad Cop and Accuse. Its worth keeping that in mind when trying to read someone's response. Sometimes you need to rely on reading their faces more than anything, especially if they tell the truth on one question and then lie on the next. Watch how differently they act when you correctly judge when they are honest vs when you correctly judge they are dishonest.

Dr stoneman also prescribed the drugs in the last traffic case. Meaning he's into more shady stuff.

I think the burglary ring worked a bit like this:
Dr. Stoneman's wife, held these lavish parties for the rich. Stoneman told Arnett and Julia, which rich people attended his wife's parties. Arnett and Julia then had JImmy Leblanc and Wilson Ready, burgle the rich people who were at the parties, while they were not home.
Arnett wanted to get out and marry Heather, like you said, but Julia did not want that happening, so Arnett was forced to have Leblanc and Reade kill her.
The only two things that are not explained, is where "Henderson" comes from, and why Reade killed Leblanc. Always found that murder random.
Still don't get why Julia had bite marks on her body. Doubt they'd go all psycho but maybe I'm wrong

Good job with the case, it's a really long one, and you're right on your assessment of the whole case. The main thing to point out is that the doctor had nothing to do with Julia's death. He was genuinely shocked and upset when Phelps told him when they first met. Plus Reade probably killed Leblanc to tie up loose ends and leave no one to connect the dots, and he tried to kill Arnett too. Once Leblanc and Reade were paid to kill Julia, it was most likely every man for himself by that point. Doubt that the gang really liked each other that much but that's speculation.
Minor detail about the final chase, you'll get a trophy if you shoot down all the letters of that Broadway sign.
I do have to agree on how weird the answers can be with the game, especially with the pills and prescription when interviewing the cleaning lady, but with her it's not likely she'd actually see the prescription. it's not her job to snoop around Julia's room for that, plus it was in a hidden part of the box. She would've seen the pills, but not the prescription. It's also at this point where I'd stop looking at the facial expressions and just read what they have to say cos I find it more reliable compared to reading their faces.
Ah yes. The male doctor with reputation is potrayed as a victim. Female model is potrayed as bad person. Modeling is potrayed as bad thing to do. That's why I hate Rockstar and this case. They are hatefull towards girly girls.

I wanted to point out that Benzedrine, which you seemed to be confused by, is a stimulant that was historically used to treat conditions like narcolepsy and ADHD. It’s a type of amphetamine (a stimulant that affects the central nervous system and increases alertness and energy levels) and can increase alertness and energy levels. However, it's not commonly used today due to the availability of more modern medications with fewer side effects.
I hope this helps other people who were confused as well.

This is my favourite case in the game. Every plot twist is a chef's kiss, Arnett is a terrible liar, he's the typical kid who says his dog ate his homework.
Also Mal Carruthers deserves his flowers here, he's the goat of the case.

This case is one of my personal favorites and it’s also heavily based on a film noir movie of the same name. It also has the same plot, characters, and story. It’s still a pretty good movie to watch today.

The reason why Willy kills LeBlanc is because in the movie he gets drunk and rants on how he could never explain himself to god for the murder he committed. Willy then throws him in the river after hitting him on the head.
They also go into a little more detail about Willy in the movie. He was a failing boxer full of pride, always training hard, and wanting to be the best.
It’s also said he’s a hothead with a lot of temper and mental issues, and very likely a psychopath. His brother also says he’s no good, and they got nothing to do with each other. He probably also knew Willy was a burglar as he asks the detectives to throw the keys away when they get him.

The way I understand this case is like this. The Dr would give his wife's party list to the criminals. They would rob the partygoers when they weren't home.
Henry Arnett and the wrestlers were partners. They killed the other guy because he knew too much. The crew was disbanding and he helped them murder her. He also was meant to make her death look like a suicide. He failed and left the morphine eveidence at the entrence . An amataur who screwed up a murder & knew too much had to go.

The pills one was easy. Which one do you take for worries? Depression? Sleep trouble? Barbiturates. You read the descriptions and you chose the wrong one. The game was perfectly right. You need to read more carefully.

Nice, looks like you got at least a few of the cars in the game found. I'm not seeing as much flickering in this part. Isn't Heather Swanson also the name of the character in the Strong Woman episode of South Park? I guess this one is also a strong woman. Cigarette ad at a doctor's office building lol. Exactly, stolen valor is such a scumbag move. My dad was 30 years army, starting with working on planes in the air force and he would've been ashamed of me if I ever pulled some crap like that. And rightfully so. I read there's actually a trophy in this game for successfully tailing someone once without going incognito. Pretty sure I used a guide to pull that one off, since it's much easier to hide behind the cover of walls and newspapers.
I think you could pull it off by just standing behind the wall without pushing the button to use cover. Guilty as a dog next to a pile of dog shit is a great line. Even though he's an asshole, Roy's got some good lines in this game too.
Looks like there's also a trophy for this case for shooting down all the letters of the Broadway sign called Give Me Regards. A little foreshadowing at the end of this case by Phelps. Pro knows since he's played this game before.

@@RevengeBell I have gone through most of the playthrough with wrong answers . The reason I restarted a few times is because I felt those answers were wrong like the prescription for the cleaning lady or bad cop for the rich woman who wanted to avoid talking about the burglary .

you can get two achievements, first is if you drive Heather Swanson without crashing and drive normal and safe and other achievement when Willy is climbing the BROADWAY sign. Before you shoot at him, shoot all of the letters off of the frame.
The flickering might be the cpu. La noire on pc is so badly optimised it only runs correctly if you use less of ur physical cores.

Except Julia didn't die of an overdose on barbiturates. She was forcefully overdosed with morphine. Also the case is definitely a reference to a movie also called The Naked City. The plot of both this case and the movie are very identical.

I noticed that you keep backing out of the interrogation to check the questions again. You can actually check a log in the pause menu to see the previous dialogue instead of doing that.
He was doing that in the earlier parts, but he does it this way now so he can check out the facial expressions and mannerisms as they're saying the lines.
