    He sounds fantastic in the Senesino rep. and I think he is being very smart by moving into the contralto range. There is absolutely nothing wrong with shifting the range of music you sing in as you get older. It's natural for the voice to change as we age. I wish certain other famous countertenors showed the wisdom that Cencic has, rather than severely compromising their sound production to try and maintain the extremely high roles they can no longer truly sing. This is why Cencic has always been and continues to be my favorite countertenor. He's an amazing artist!

    I feel Cencic's voice has gained in expressivity with age and experience: I saw him many years ago in Marseille, and was blown away by his range and astonishing precision. Today, those qualities remain, but he has added greater warmth and nuance - the closest I think we have have to a modern-day Senesino
