Great update on the finished hill top Gary. It looks excellent and is a testament to your time and dedication on it. Mark.
Hi Mark, thank you so much and I am so glad you like it! Not sure how many hours I’ve spent on the tunnel top but it is a few 😉 however I have enjoyed every minute of modelling it from start to finish. Cheers Gary
Your more than welcome Gary. It's good to hear that you enjoyed modelling it too. I think that's half the battle with modelling anything really. Keep up the good work. Mark.
Another brilliant video top job 👍cheers Al
Thanks Alan, appreciate your feedback Cheers Gary
This is such a useful and comprehensive guide!! Perfect for me as I'm planning a Scottish highland micro layout and this will work brilliantly for that. Great work!!
Hi thank you so much for those kind words snd good luck with your highland micro layout! Cheers Gary
Great video Gary - up to your usual standard. I drive through Kirkby Stephen on a fairly regular basis and I think you’ve captured the scenery to a ‘T’. Looking forward to the next stage.
Best wishes,
Martin
Hi Martin, what wonderful feedback that is, it means I achieving my goal 😊I myself pass that way quite regularly on my way from home to Newcastle for work and sometimes pop in on a nice day for a few photos. Next I move onto the viaduct scenics so looking forward to doing it! Thanks again for leaving a comment it’s very much appreciated! Cheers Gary
Fantastic job, great idea taking the photos, you have really mastered the static grass, it really does look great and like your photos.
Hi Chris, thanks for your feedback and really appreciate your kind words! I am pleased with the tunnel top as a whole, may need a few tweaks to the stream but overall happy with the static grass 😊Cheers Gary
Superb skill over all 3 videos - thank you for sharing.
Hi Alex thank you very much for leaving a comment and really appreciate your kind words 😊 Cheers Gary
good vid nice detail like how you do the scenics on the river on the layout keep up the good work thanks lee
Hi Lee, thank you, really appreciate your continued support and feedback. Cheers Gary
Enjoyed your latest video thanks for sharing DD.
Glad you enjoyed it Diesel Dave, cheers Gary
@@SC68Gary thanks very much for replying to my comment. It's nice to see other people's work to get idea to improve my Channel. Take Care DD.
Hi Gary, the scene has turned out brilliantly mate. I think you’re right about N Gauge being perhaps that bit harder to do, I really think less is more in N gauge.
Looking forward to the next scene, cheers for now mate, John
Hi John, thank you very much, I agree about the less is more but in your case you need lots of scenery so that does not apply 😆 Hope the foot is in the mend? Cheers Gary
lol! Help! Yes foot is on the mend mate, cheers👍
Nice fantastic train 👍👍🚂🔝👍.
Greetings Gert
Thank you Gert 😊 Cheers Gary
Greetings SC68 and hello Gary 👋 Apart from being stupendous at stone and majestic at mud 😇 you are terrific at tuffs 😎🪴💚 Great update 👏👏👏👏 top tips and beautiful visuals 😍 what's not to like 👍 Very best wishes from the Emerald Isle ☘️
Hello Paul of Wickford ☘️your comments do make me laugh 😆 yet I sincerely thank you for your kind words 😊 and I agree you cannot beat a nicely modelled tuft 😉 what happened to Wickfords ☘️ Saturdays running session 🚂 I missed seeing it with my coffee on Sunday? Cheers Gary
I forgot how long track laying took and how frustrating 🤬 it could be 🤕 Hope to be back on schedule this week 🤞 with something new on the Continental Shelf ✌️
Hiya Gary, for some reason I missed this one. Great techniques and fantastic results as always. Hope you are well, cheers for now, Chris
Hi Chris, I’m good thanks, great to hear from you and thanks for your kind words mate. Hope all is well with you, how’s the layout coming along? Cheers Gary
Hi Gary, I am doing as well as I can to be honest. Every day is another challenge but I do keep going. The layout is not progressing well at all as I have had a few dioramas on the go and with health issues too. I am getting back into it slowly though so not all bad. No videos have been made because of this but that’s not to say I won’t do another soon.. All the best, Chris
Excellent update Gary! Tunnel Top is looking fabulous! I really look forward to your scenic updates as I always learn something new! This time I particularly enjoyed the section where you made the tufts of grass! I'm trying to log all of this information for when I need it in about... a couple of years time at the rate I'm going! Lol! I'm rather looking forward to when you continue the stream down the hillside and below the viaduct - can I look forward to a waterfall? All the best, Ian.
Hi Ian, pleased that you enjoyed it and got something out of it such as Tuft making 😊 I’d just realised it’s been 2 years since I started my layout and I reckon I’m 40-50% complete so another two years or so 😉 although they do say a layout is never completed 😆 cheers Gary
Excellent job, well done
Hi Colin, thank you, appreciate your comment. Cheers Gary
Hi Gary excellent video mate. The finished scene looks brilliant. Even in n gauge it looks realistic. Also like what's happening next with the waterfall. Great job looking forward to the next catch you soon atb Andy
Hi Andy, thanks again, glad you like it 😊 not sure it’s going to be a waterfall more of a trickling beck so don’t expect any white water 💦 torrents 🤣 hope you are keeping well and your layout is coming along? Are we due a new video from you soon? Cheers Gary
@@SC68 hi Gary yeah I'll be doing a video shortly. Nothing much has been done as we've been away. I've got some nice real train footage so I might just include that as well. It's not Niagra falls then 🌊🤣 cheers Andy
@@moorlandmodelrailwayandy Hi Andy, good news, look forward to the video, hopefully the train footage will be of steam locos 😁😉 but yes I would include that for sure. Hopefully you had a nice holiday, we had last week away which was good. Defo not Niagra Falls in fact it will be a trickle😂 cheers Gary
Fantastic job man! I really love the updates! I love the differences in rolling stock between the UK rails and what developed in the US.
Thank you for your comment and yes agree with your statement on the us/uk locks snd rolling stock I think it also applies to the scenery. Cheers Gary
Another great update Gary. A masterclass in scenics, and I particularly liked seeing your demo of the tufts using the standard applicator, something I must try.
Thank you so much 😊 and yes using that method with the tufts works a treat! It usually takes 3 applications of the static grass but key is the silicone paper and the tuft glue. It simply peals off and sticks straight onto the layout. Cheers Gary
Thsnks Gary, good to get an insight on how you do your scenery and learn something along the way. Looks very very nice. 👌👍👍John
Hi John, great to hear, thanks for your great support and comment, much appreciated 😊 cheers Gary
Very satisfying watch looking forward to trying your grass tuff and tree making on my layout thank you for the idea
Hi Graham, great to hear you will be doing grass tufts and seafoam trees 😊 for your layout. Appreciate your feedback! Cheers Gary
I simply love your modelling skills, well done!
Thank you for your kind feedback 😊, really appreciate your comments. Cheers Gary
Excellent detail and so well shown and explained. Learnt a lot from this. Thank you.
Thank your for your kind words and really appreciate your feedback 😊 cheers Gary
I will have to go back and watch that again Gary. Lots of useful stuff in that video. The final result looks superb. I had a go at making tufts a good while ago using baking paper and the tufts came out OK, but simply refused to peel off the paper. I will give WWS a look because I am going to need some tufts when I finally get around to scenic work on the final part of my layout. Stephen
Hi Stephen, thanks for your feedback and continued support with the channel 😊 I used grease proof paper in the past with mixed results but the silicone paper is great and the tufts easily pull off the sheet and stick straight to the layout. Will be great to see those on your layout on your new scenic area. Cheers Gary
Excellent Gary - you're a first class modeller - wish I had your skills. My scenics are fairly basic in comparison. Very enjoyable update and well explained. Euan
Hi Euan, thank you so much but it’s all learned from CZcams and I have great respect for my fellow n gauge modellers like yourself who have many other skills that I do not possess! Appreciate your kind words 😊 Cheers Gary
Hi Gary - excellent video as usual. At 18;00 what do you use for bushes please?
Regards Chris
Hi Chris, thank you once again for your kind comment. The bushes are Woodland Scenics Bushes Fc145 in light green. Cheers Gary
Which video did you cover the dry stone walling. Really good work Gary.
Hi Roy, the dry stone walls are covered in czcams.com/video/y5YLReCyauk/video.html but the walls are purchased from ModelRailwsyBits. Hope that helps? Cheers Gary
...time now for some trains?
Hi, yes trains are always good and will be in the next video, these are specific scenic videos that I put out in addition to my regular‘train’ videos Cheers Gary
@@SC68 I do know that, Gary, I just neeeeed a train video to go with your wonderful background stuff!
@@akrills Thank you and I will make sure this happens, any requests for specific loco or train and I will do my best 😊👍
