(Rupert used to be Chris's when he was little. Stewie finds an old photo in the attic where Chris rides a tricycle and Rupert sits in the rear basket. So Stewie's jealous over something that happened years before he was born...)
Stewie and Rupert have the weirdest dynamic in TV history. Like, he's a genius who built a time machine, but he's also in what can only be described as a sexually charged relationship...with a *teddy bear,* who he also treats like it's human.

it really seems like they’re trying to paint stewie as incredibly unhappy as a gay character, especially by making his “relationship” with rupert so toxic in later seasons. i know that the only consistency for family guy is that everyone is cynically miserable, but stewie’s characterization down this path always felt especially malicious. it definitely made me worry for my future happiness when i was struggling with being gay. i’m glad there are healthier depictions out there now
