In the first album Nicole, Melody and Carmín sang, then all the girls asked to be featured more so in the second album Nicole was 1st voice, Melody 2nd and Jessica 3rd while the others sang backup and they all had solos in the re release album.
What’s sad is that Melody could sing to but Nicole got all the attention. Stickwitchu is their best song 💯

I've often wondered why Nicole's solo career never took off. She's a talented vocalist and dancer - she's drop dead gorgeous, she looks very different from her competition, and she clearly had the industry well on her side... and I just feel like it's because she really lacks outward personality. I feel like she's one of those people that has just been winning pageants and talent shows her whole life and she has no sense of self other than that she's a winner. Which is really boring to watch. There's no rawness to her, she's impossible to relate to.
But nicole is full of personality, have you seen her in xfactor as a judge, she is HILARIOUS, she just doesnot have a single good song.

It's sad you have to pitch the clips of the songs for fear of copyright strikes when what you're doing is COMPLETELY LEGAL and abides by fair use. It's actually a perfect example of how you should use other people's media.
The only two members who distinguished themselves are:

b) The one whose role was to lift her leg high in all their videos.

Downfall?... Kelly Rowland got more lines than Beyoncé on their successful comeback with ''Lose My Breath'', later she got anothe solo smash hit with ''When Love Takes Over''.
So there was actually no downfall for DC.
I feel like the other girls got so disrespected. They where all beautiful and had good unique voices. Making nichole the only lead was self sabotage
Well she wrote all their material, not one of them helped out, not one of them tried to step out in front. The Label chose Nicole because she was the attractive one. And its her voice that sold the music.
When you have one person doing all the writing and all the singing, you can see why the label chose her to be enter stage.

Plenty of people sing songs they did not write. I get the feeling PCD fans would have helped out her solo career had she not appear selfish to the fans.

Politically correct and offended by everything she knew she was the favorite, and used that as a stepping tool for herself. She even ordered her own separate tour bus and stopped acknowledging the other girls lol.

It seems that labels don't realize that for a group to last, you can't push one member farther out than the other members, while making the other members feel insignificant. If you do that then problems *WILL* come. Look at 5th harmony, the label kept pushing camila cabello as the lead singer and look at where 5h are now.
Also, Honest could you *please* cover the blackfishing accusations regarding Ariana Grande? You're always unbiased and objective so I'd really like to hear your opinion on the topic. 🙏🙏

I had no idea about the backstory. Kimberly was my favorite at some point though, mostly for her dancing skills but she had a good voice too. I've heard some solos. And also Melody had a great voice

Had Nicole shared the spotlight with the other girls, I get the feeling that people will like her more and support her in her solo prospects.
In Kpop, if a member gets all the lines and spotlight, people tend to hate that member more because it looks selfish (the distribution may not even be that member's fault to begin with).

A couple of the other Dolls had their own singles which were pretty decent - Jessica Sutta "Show Me" was pretty good :) And it's funny/ironic how when Nicole was with the PCD, she got all the hype and attention, yet her SOLO career never really got off the ground. She had a few good songs, but she was never as big as PCD when she was on her own...

Growing up and I loved The Pussycat Dolls, I would blast the shit out of their songs. One funny memory I have about PCD is the fact that I couldn't never say their group name in school. So when ever someone asked me what my favorite group was at the time I say, "The Cat Dolls", the girls that sing "When I Grow Up!" Then the kids would yell at me for saying a "bad word" and I was like "BUT THAT'S THE NAME!!"

It's sad when you think that the other Dolls did have talent, being able to sing and dance yet Nicole was the one given ALL the publicity and vocals. It's sad because the group was so unique with their burlesque style and dance, if the solos were more divided just as in Little Mix, they probably wouldn't have had as much problems as they did.
This is what the management wanted. They were created to sell and perform not like other groups. And the dolls couldn't do anything about it.

It's simple, if you don't write your own songs, it's upon luck and your hardwork to stay relevant for long. There would be things that would turn the tables, label dropping you, taking away the resources, leave you alone. But If you write your own songs, you'll release music as long as you're able to record and publish. Maybe not able to market and release it on a big scale, but would not fade away and would keep making music, and career would most likely never end unless it's your own choice or you're not able to.

That's the only reason why I even heard of them. Didn't know they actually made music. I thought they were just some tv act that Diddy failed to make famous like Da Band.
The other members sang backing vocals in some songs which is why they have mics in live performances. One example is when they performed buttons at fashion rocks and Nicole looked angry when Melody starting to sing louder than her.
Also at least they each got their own solo song in their last album.

In the end, the group with team work and cooperation lasts longer. People also like a group with seemingly real friendship between members.

The comments show how much you all actually listened to their music & followed the history. I think Nicole is extraordinarily talented and her stance as the lead was inevitable because of it. However, I was always frustrated as a fan especially after the Doll Domination 2.0 Edition revealed all of them had vocal ability but especially for Melody who came to the group as a singer, NOT A DANCER. Nicole wasn't the only talented member and it was because of the over-emphasis on her and the fans desire to see them equally that PCD ended.
