- I recently put up a performance of "Georgia on my Mind" and was then asked to do a tutorial on how to play this great old song on guitar. I hope this is helpful to those interested. Thanks for watching! - Glenn
Fantastic video, strikes perfect balance between not being too basic, but at the same time explaining in enough detail that you can pick it up. Will re-watch with my pen and paper to write it all down.
While watching this i was thinking " isn't the internet great". In the old days i would have to record the song on radio, write the words down and try figure out the chords. There are plenty of songs i sing still with the wrong mis-heard words as a result!
Thanks for your fantastic video, saving me a lot of trouble 😁😁
Thank you Noel! What interesting comments! I'm glad you felt this lesson was helpful. The Internet does provide some advantages for guitar players. It's pretty amazing, really. Have fun with this great old song, enjoy the guitar, too, and be well. - Glenn

WOW...this is FANTASTIC! I am only as far as the fifteenth chord, but that is because you have spent the time to very carefully and explicitly EXPLAIN the chords as to the basics that most of us know. I am DETERMINED to FINALLY be able to play the difficult chords up the neck instead of substituting them with the "every day" ones below. Think YOU have small hands, LOL....but I am making SURE I master these first chords before I go forth. You have already greatly helped me with Travis style picking with your "Clay Pigeons" tutorial.....THIS, MY Georgia song....will surely greatly upgrade my skills up the neck! Thanks bunches, Glenn! You are a true GIFT! KP
Hi Keith! Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you are getting something out of this tutorial. I wouldn't say I have small hands but they are not huge, either, that's for sure. I wear a large size men's glove. Still, I wouldn't have minded having slightly longer fingers so I could reach more stuff on the fretboard. Nevertheless, you can see that I have to some extent figured out how to play the guitar, small hands or not. A lot of it is making the effort, putting in the time, wanting it bad enough. If you want this song, Keith, then you will get this! Hang in there and keep working at it and once you learn it, keep playing it so you keep it in your repertoire! It's a great song! Thanks for letting me know this tutorial is helping you! Take care! - Glenn
Great performance and teaching !

You're welcome! Thank you for your kind feedback! I hope you find this helpful! - Glenn
A much easier approach from the CMaj7 to the C#dim would be to bar the 3rd fret with index finger and your middle finger on the 4th fret 3rd string. Then for the C#dim simply move he middle finger from the 3rd string to the 5th string. No other finger movement needed. In the bridge from E7 to Am7 if you bar the 5th fret you can simply lift your middle and pinky fingers and the Am7 chord is what’s left. Great lesson. So easy to follow.
Thanks for your feedback, Jim. I appreciate your watching and your comments. Thank you. -- Glenn
