  • Run rings around Lamborghini and Ferrari owners with this simple glass fibre-bodied homegrown hero.
Britain used to be the epicentre of affordable-ish performance. Wind the clock back 20 years or so and you’d find TVR and Lotus (with the sadly now defunct Elise) giving cars of far greater monetary value and prestige a right kicking when shown a racetrack. If you wanted to embarrass the most elite of supercars, though, you needed to get yourself a Noble M12. Sure, it’s 357hp twin-turbocharged V6 in GTO-3 form sounds relatively paltry, but couple that with a kerb weight of just 1,050kg and a chassis setup that promotes endless amounts of grip resulted in a simple-yet-effective track weapon. Noble is due to release a new - albeit more expensive - supercar in the form of the M500 later this year. We sent Cam to Hilton and Moss to get acquainted with Noble’s last smash hit.

once upon a time.. car manufacturers wanted to produce cars for enthusiasts. Nowadays, they make cars just for rich ppl to show-off on instagram. Not even the hot-hatches are in reach for most of the normal people with normal lives and incomes.

Blame legislation on fleet average CO2. They can’t sell many ‘enthusiasts’ cars without being charged a fortune. The EU deems it to be BEV or nothing. Not even carbon neutral synthetic fuels.
Germany is currently lobbying the parliament to allow these fuels going forward to help save Porsche, shame Italy isn’t doing the same to save Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati & Alfa. 🤷🏻‍♂️

nope! Blame money itself. The rising public debt and money issuance skyrocketed inflation over decades in Western countries and, with it, the devaluation of our purchasing power. That's why a house was 15k in the Us in the 60s and everyone working at a normal job could afford to buy it. Translate this to the car world and you've got a new Civic Type R for several thousand k more than before.

In defense of 1990-early 2000’s, you didn’t have to weigh cars down with tons of regulations. My USA 2006 Lotus Exige has two exemption stickers inside the door because the car was technically illegal at the time it went on sale due to not meeting Federal regulations. Those great British of 20 years ago cars can’t be legally made anymore 😢

@@Surannhealz that's why I'm living in Mexico. Too many laws and restrictions in the land of the free, it's kinda sad.

Brilliant video as usual from Cam! My mate had an M12 for ages - I think it was a bit like Trigger's broom by the time he sold it, but what a machine. I just remember it riding really well, and the asynchronous whooshing behind your head was mega. F40 kit car, innit

As much as I love this car for every reason, I do think that the Rossion was better looking by miles. A shame that it never came back to the UK.

    “Budget”
There’s like 5% of the British population that could actually afford a car that fetches 40k plus second hand today.
I yearn to own one someday, but inheritance is the only (very slim) chance I’ll have.
