    I didn't know about the earth's crust being mostly oxygen. Could have sworn it be carbon.

      it's probably all that water. the clue is "most abundant element", which would single out the O in H2O.

      Carbon actually appears in very low numbers. Most rocks are made of oxides.

      @@kickwriteteach2313 Since water is two atoms hydrogen for every one atom oxygen, wouldn't the most abundant element in water-heavy bodies be hydrogen? Unless the clue meant "most abundant" by weight, but I take "most abundant" to mean "greatest quantity".

      @@PhysicsMathandMe Most abundant usually means by weight. But it doesn't matter since the amount of water on Earth is tiny compared to amount of rocks, and those rocks are almost always oxides.

      Building a bomb is easier than making dynamite, all it takes are a few wires (mixed colors “of course”), some nitroglycerin & a timer).
