king arthur bread flour is amazing, it makes the smoothest bread and rises so beautifully. I love praying when making challah, I thank Hashem for provision and pray for my family or anyone whom we may share the challah with, usually we have an extra loaf and we give that to someone to enjoy. Because Hashem always provides more than enough.

I've used King Arthur brand flour exclusively for over 5 years for all my baking and cooking needs (except for fresh pasta). It NEVER disappoints. I sift my flour before putting it into my cannister and there are NO BUGS any bag I've ever bought.
It's an old brand for a reason! Good products and good brands stand the test of time! KA Flour is amazing quality, they have an excellent website and support team, and well worth the price.

OK, after all the prayers over your bread --- I just want to send you cyber hugs from a woman who is Christian and used to fly tor TWA to Israel. I loved the Jewish people and had lots of Kosher friends while I spent time there. I also have made my family's bread for years. You first of all, have the BEST braiding tute on the web. Second, I love this whole video. So few people now realize the love that goes into homemade bread. Over the years, I have given away so many gift loaves to people as a love offering from my kitchen. Yours is a love offering to not only your family, but to God, and your lesson is a blessing to us all. Once again, cyber hugs to you from Kansas City, MO. Be blessed!!! Melody

Hello Sara, you were not alone, even a year later when I watched this video.
I have been watching your videos these last few weeks and though in many ways I am far away from your world and beliefs, I am fascinated and touched by it. The last thing you say in every video often brings a tear to my eye. The way you make your bread, with a prayer for different ingredients and moments, I find so beautiful. I think it makes me understand more what you mean by "frum it up". Let me for once tell you: if nobody told you yet today, know that you are loved and you are enough, just the way you are. Thank you for being here and sharing your world this way. Love, Hajo

I normally use King Arthur Bread flour for my regular boule loaves as KA flour used to be milled and packaged where I live. I use fresh eggs that my neighbor gives me in exchange for my walking her dog with my dogs every day. Loved this video. Thank you. I am a regular challah baker. I have two suggestions for you. First, consider making your own bread flour. Purchase gluten and all purpose flour. For each cup of AP flour, add one tablespoon of gluten. Thus, bread flour. This way the flour has multiple purposes whereas bread flour only has one. Second, due to oven spring, it helps to reapply egg wash half way through the bake to cover the unwashed dough that expanded. Also, rotate the baking sheet. I guess that frums up my comments. Gut Shabbos

thank you so much Diane :)
it is with the Grace of G.od that i am able to do any of this.
I heard a speaker ask this question one day: where do you find the largest amount of potential in one place?
his answer: in a cemetery because this is where all the dreams and potential that we did not try to fulfill are
and it resonated with me: i do not want to have regrets, and i wanted to leave a positive footprint in the world . It also made me think what is a gift if you do not share it with the world
so i decided right then and there to start my youtube channel, i wanted to share all the tips and tricks i have learned in the kitchen , in the house, in my spirituality to help the others to perhaps inspire ,even one person has been my ongoing goal.
so here we are 2 years later 75+videos and my heart is full of gratitude for every view, every comment and everyone moment i have the opportunity to hopefully leave a positive footprint in the world.

Thank You!!! You have Blessed me to no end! Like others I am new to Torah! I lost my soul mate July of 2020. I've never been the same. I knew that GOD must have something more for me to do. I have been praying for that revelation. HE lead me to Torah! I have learned so much. But you and your channel have really been such a blessing. I am 76 and live alone. I have only one child who was our miracle baby. Dr's. told us we couldn't have any. Pray does amazing things! I am praying for him now. We live in Texas. He went to Mexico to get me my meds and was arrested when he came back. I am praying that God delivers him soon. He is my only relative. I have outlived all the others. what is the covering for your head. I have never seen anything like it, and what is it significance? May GOD richly bless you and your family!!!!

I must comment. Firstly your Challah is exquisite. In my tradition I make something for holidays or birthdays called Kringel. It is a sweet bread made with cardamom and saffron. I have only every braided it and then put it into a round wreath. Your braiding of the Challah is something I will aspire to. Even though we walk differently with our spirituality, I love how you cherish and pray over each ingredient and you are so correct about intent. I know that I will now bring this into my baking as well. Your kindness and joy is evident in all that you do. I have subscribed. Blessings from my house to yours.

I Love Challah. Sara, your Challah loaves are truly miraculous works of art. I love the prayers recited during the process. I also appreciate that you open some of your videos by putting on a tichel. I'm new to hair covering/wrapping and it is just so inspiring to see someone doing it gracefully...without a mirror! My first attempt at challah will be using a recipe for challah will be one I found mixing everying up in a baggie. I know....blasphemous! What I will do though is watch your lovely video first to get in the proper spirit of the creation. Ingredients: the only eggs I buy are "home grown" in Minnesota -- Locally Laid. Small farmers...free range, well-treated and well-fed chickens, all named LoLa. I have added your well-chosen ingredients to my list of pantry items. I'm so glad I'm connected to your channel! The recipe is very similar to the most widely known pastry in Finland, known as "pulla". There are a few differences: the ratio of ingredients probably differs somewhat (like more sugar). And instead of oil and water, we use butter and milk (though there are vegan alternatives). And we add cardamom seeds as a spice. Apparently this has only been brought to Finland in the 18th century, but I think the recipe may have the same origins, just has changed while travelling through time, regions and cultures.

I love making challah by hand, no machine. There is something so satisfying in using it together with my own ( plastic gloved) hands. My family knows that my greatest joy is doing this together with my very young aineklach, who love making challah with their Bubby, as I did with mine. Your videos are a pleasure to watch, and though I use a slightly different technique for making the "conch shell" five strand challah you first demonstrated here, I love watching you do it your way. Thank you, and keep posting these beautiful videos.

We only have King Arthur flour here. I am very excited to see how I fail or maybe 🤔 get the challah right.😵 Be blessed and I will be praying!!!!😃🙏💕

      Hi Mary !
thank you so much for your kind comment and I am sure like positive that because you are going to follow the recipe step-by-step it will turn out beautiful BH!
a word of caution when you add the water at the end only add half the water then mix it some flour are very rich and do not necessitate that much water but here where I live all the flour do necessitate that amount of water!
beside that for the the rest of the recipe you are as good as gold and of course if you have any questions I am right here for you until next time my friend stay safe and stay blessed

I live in Georgia in the USA. So it can be humid here and very hot. This can affect the rise ?? I learning! 😃

    • @frumitup
      @frumitup  Před 2 lety +2

@@maryneesmith6166 hi Mary you are absolutely right a very humid environment will most probably make that your dough will not need as much water and also your rising time will be much lower so usually I would say I leave my dough to rise for an hour at room temperature but for you maybe 40 minutes will be enough and also for the final rise after shaping it I wouldn’t leave it more than 30 minutes or so let me know if you have more questions

I am not Jewish, as it runs down the male line from my grandfather. This has always been a source of great sadness, although I am happy to have strong faith, and a vocation (see profile photograph for further details lol). How this all reconciles, I cannot say, but I leave the details to G-d. I clicked on your channel for a good challah recipe, but I gained so much more from you.
May you, and your family be blessed.
