Don't mind the transitions...it seems like something went wrong during the rendering. What's your favourite part of learning theory? Mine is the connection between scales and chords. Learning the piano in addition to the guitar really helped in understanding scales.
Learning theory is really a pain in the ass sometimes..but once you get the hang of it, you can see the benefits in your music practice, so keep going :)
I'll have to try some of these out. I drive truck and really want to get a tablet and find a few apps to use to learn music theory while im driving. It can get so monotonous dring back and forth in rural ND.
I found MUSIC THEORY for DUMMIES very good, though not as complete as I'd like; i.e., there are concepts (like suspended chords) which I thought to be basic but are not discussed. Whenever my mind is blank I can always think about the Circle of Fifths! :-)
there was this website mentioned in some other video.. which has all the details of a particular scale.. as in .. if I search C Major.. it shows the notes of C major, which all chords can be used, modes and all that.. I can't find that video now.. any idea about such website?

The whole "For Dummies" Series is a good start to get into a topic, and the best thing is, you can find them in a lot of libraries, so you save money. After the basics it's a bit different, and you have to know what you want to learn. There are different focuspoints if you want to learn classical or jazz. Keep going! :D

Great video! I tried to learn music theory through a Coursera class and it was just too tedious, too scholarly. Excited to check out these apps!
