Westport, KY Federal Model 3 Siren Test - 5/12/20

Monthly test of Oldham County's system. This 3 or 5 or whatever you want to call it is located at the FD in the small town of Wesport, right on the Ohio River. Sirens are tested at 10:30 on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Between 3 and 5, most of these are 5s. Some of this style are 3hp but I'm confident that 5hp is the most common.
I believe of of these c2 1/2 5s were produced under Federal Sign & Signal.

That thing doesn't sound the healthiest. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that this this unit is single phase, which opens the door for several issues to occur. Nonetheless, still a great video as usual!

It sounds 3 phase I'm guessing lower voltage like 208

Single phase will do that...my department's 5BT and my ambulance post's 5BT are both on single phase and they take forEVER to wind up and sound right. Healthy as can be, but these old 3/5/7s never should have been installed on singles.
