In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

“its an absolute casserole down there” was one of the funniest things he could have ever said in that situation. this is not even an exaggeration i actually went numb from laughing to hard like that feeling you get when you go down the slope of a roller coaster
Everyone looks horrified apart from Sarah Kendall, who just laughs her arse off throughout. The "absolute casserole" line just brings the house down.
First time i heard it i laughed so hard my sciatica flared up badly.

I've always said I thought Alex was lucky the "do the worst thing to Alex" task didn't come round when Rhod was on

I really think Mike and Alex would be absolute best friends. Never seen Alex pay attention and laugh so much than when Mike's talking.

mike looks like an animated character designed to walk through a background shot, but instead he is the most earnest man you could ever imagine.
Cannot be his greatest moments without the mohawk, undermining the vole, saying it’s bamboo o’clock, or assuring Alex the rain isn’t his fault (after riding a hoverboard that could sense his impending dread) but good start 🙃
BEST TASKMASTER CONTESTANT HANDS DOWN. The '' casserole ' moment will always make me laugh uncontrollably. Fantastic.

Mike is a delight in person. I have many happy memories of him hosting events at the Sean Bean Lounge and enlightening conversations over a non-discounted mocha drink at the Soup Dragon Café. He's a provincial dad we can all take a lesson from.

I'd watched "Man Down" prior to this series of Taskmaster, and didn't fully appreciate just what a complete and utter treasure this man is. Mike truly gave his all in these challenges and seems like such a lovely person.

"It's an absolute casserole down there" is one of the funniest sentences ever spoken by a human. Is it the British diet that makes piles such a common topic of conversation on television? I've never heard so many references to haemorrhoids ( to honor the British spelling which honors the old French. Latin and Greek roots of the term) as on British Television. I have to say that my love of shows like this one is based on the freedom from the tight-assed American Soccer Mom mentality that polices humor based on the false idea that it will damage innocent children irrevocably.
Nah, it's more that poo jokes (or other alternative bodily functions and fluids) are generally quite common in British comedy 😅
In Britain we have a thing called the watershed - basically anything on TV after 9pm is uncensored and usually quite unsuitable for kids, and everyone knows this - so if you don't want your kids to be exposed to anything, just don't let them watch anything after the watershed. Unsurprisingly, taskmaster is after the watershed :p

Given the tone of the show, the possibility of Mike jumping over the fence and finding himself in some sort of extra-dimensional space bordered by cliffs that look strangely like Greg Davies' face is a non-zero chance.

Series 10, 11 and 12 were the only ones I watched in full and thoroughly enjoyed. Mike was probably my favourite contestant along with Victoria.
