Moved to Rotterdam like 4 days ago and watching this made me feel incredibly grateful with life for being able to experience a city and society as amazing as this one.
Oh amazing! Congratulations! It’s such a great city 😊
I love Rotterdam, not been for a while and planning to go back this year. We used to fish a huge street fishing tournament through the city but it doesn't run anymore so i'll be riding solo!
Hey friend, how did you find accommodation? Which site? I cant find anywhere that's available...
We moved here in January and are so happy for the change in scenery from Dubai. Rotterdam is a wonderfully friendly and beautiful place to live. Hope you enjoy your time here as much as we are 😊
I am from Rotterdam and I have to say WOW what a great job you did !! love it !
Thank means so much. I absolutely loved your city. Thank you for your kind support :)
Apart from Dutch, which is the second language you speak in Rotterdam?
English, But most folks speak some German too.
Thanks bro
@@adopstap I thought Rotterdam always had some hatred and understandable towards Germans.
I was born in Rotterdam and lived there till I was 15 (1983), then I had to move to the UK. In many ways I very much miss living in Rotterdam and the Netherlands in general. I often think what my live would have been like if I could have stayed in Rotterdam. This video is well done and although much has changed since I lived there, I still recognize my birth city. The video even mentions the original Holland-America Lijn and that reminded me of my dad and his stories he used to tell about his early live. He worked for this shipping company post war as Chief Steward on ships like the SS Nieuw Amsterdam and the SS Rotterdam which cruised between Rotterdam and New York. btw This video came up on my suggested selections as I recently did a search for Rotterdam's Central station. I'm glad I clicked on it, I had a nice trip down memory lane, thank you for that.
This is such a lovely message Patrick. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I’m so happy to hear how this video sparked some old memories for you 😀

Nice story, you should really visit Rotterdam again!
I lived in this wonderful city 3 years ago and probably I will be back soon ! :) Netherlands always in my heart. Beautiful people, nature and everything
This video is so well made. It really does this city justice. It actually brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much 😊
If in Rotterdam take a water taxi across the Maas, it only costs €4 each and you can get a high speed boat trip under the Erasmus bridge which is pretty good fun for not much. You can take it from Hotel New York back into the main city centre, for example.
wow is this still really that cheap?
@@qwertyuio997 Yeah, it's like a 5 min journey. And I think it's per person.
@@neoepicurean3772 thank you! and it's next to New York Hotel?
@@qwertyuio997 There's taxi stops all around. But I know there is like an office where you can order by Hotel New York. Probably some taxi's waiting though. Very rough today mind!
@@qwertyuio997 www.rotterdamcool.nl/watertaxi-rotterdam/
"het Kralingse bos" is beautiful and has a great view of the skyline. Same goes for former international steam ship "SS rotterdam" which is nice to visit by watertaxi. Another great view is from the terrace of the former subtropical swimming pool "Tropicana". And last but not least "Maassilo" is one of the coolest venues in the Netherlands for concerts. So many great options in Rotterdam you keep coming back.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Tropicana is er al een tijdje niet meer hoor
@@zoufzouf_0359 Ja klopt, maar hij heeft het over het terras van het restaurant dat nu in het gebouw zit waar ooit Tropicana zat.
Actually the “Kralingse Bos” is full of rapists and crackheads....... but it’s still beautiful
My girlfriend from Germany kept talking about wanting to take me to Amsterdam, but after seeing this. I wanna see Rotterdam. Love the architecture.Very pretty and unique.
Oh yes, Rotterdam definitely doesn't disappoint and much less touristy than Amsterdam :)
I lived and was born in Rotterdam and you did a beautiful job of portraying this beautiful city! Thank you so much!
That’s so kind of you to say. Thank you so much Janey 😁
Now you've made me want to visit this city even more! Thanks for the very quick but very down to the point video telling us a bit of the place's history and also today's curiosities about the city. It was fun and very useful ! Please post more videos of your trips, because I'll watch and like them all. Stay safe and have fun in your travels!
What a beautiful city! You're telling me that the citizens came together to crowdsource a lovely bridge? Just one example of the kind of modern, communal society I'd love to live in.
It sure is :) I love the crowdsourced bridge too!
I've been living here for years now and have to admit I learnt a lot of new things form this video. Many thanks, glad you enjoyed the city
That makes me so happy to hear. Thank you so much :)
I live here and I didnt even know half the stuff you said lmao😂 i only appreciate my city even more now ❤
Rachel Raven so glad you enjoyed it Rachel 😀
What a fun and sweet video! I can check off most of those attractions and now I can't wait to return. Hartelijk bedankt!
Thank you so much :)
Thank you for this! I fell in love with Amsterdam a few years ago and now that the 'rona is finally over, I can go back! Thought to stop in Rotterdam for a few days to see more Nederlands and this video is awesome, I am super excited and glad I decided to see more than Amsterdam. Thanks!
You've done such a good job in this video! Well done!
I love Rotterdam and I've been there 3-4 times already, so I'm glad I discovered 2-3 more quirky places for my next visit!
That's so kind of you to say, thank you so much :)
I recently moved to Rotterdam and this video is perfect guide for me to explore this beautiful city ❤️ thank you so much 🙏
Born and bred in Rotterdam and always lived here, love this video, a lot of stuff I didn't even know about. Great work.
Thank you so much, Jobel :) I'm so happy you enjoyed it :)
Credit where credit's due. Look at your views. :) Keep it up.
excellent!! I live there and I realize that I still have many things to do...to see things in more details!
That’s great to hear! Glad you enjoyed it 😉
Best Rotterdam City Guide I've seen so far! Thanks for this! I can't wait to visit!
My pleasure :) Wishing you a lovely visit :)
watching your video in 2022 and still i found it so relevant. tyou mentioned history about every place and that knowledge is rare. you are doing a great job❤
Thank you so much 😊
I am from Rotterdam and I can also recommend all the places you mentioned. I would like to add the Kralingse plas / bos as well. It is a lake surrounded by a forest, all within the city. You can walk around the lake, but if that is too much (about 5 kilometers), take a bike! Also, it is a nice place to see a sunset (if it doesn't rain....)
Wonderful recommendations 😀 Thank you so much for sharing.
What a beautiful city, I want to live there.💃
Beatiful places and a plenty foods..i like the sorounding very clean..
I'am doing an essay paper on Rotterdam I live Atlanta Georgia USA This city is so beautiful can't wait to visit....

Thank you so much :)
I LIVE in Rotterdam and i really enjoyed the video so beatfull i learn alot of things i didnt know before
I’m so happy to hear that. Thank you 😊
Great view of a great city.
Living in Rotterdam for 30 years now..never get bored in it..
Thank you for making this Beautiful video about my city.
Thank you so much :) I'm so glad you liked it :)
I really enjoyed that, it was very well presented. We lived behind the Stathaus for over a year in the early 1990a and I never saw the courtyard. The architecture of our place on Noordmolenwerf was also vibrant, we had lots of living space overlooking the canal. The Santa Claus clip really cracked me up, I was having a workout and was close to stopping with laughter when I saw what he was holding ... thankfully Rotterdam council thought the same and repositioned it. I'm going back at the end of November and can't wait to explore the City all over again.
My pleasure 😇 So glad you enjoyed it 😀
For my third trip to the Netherlands, I'm spending 2.5 days based in The Hague (such a beautiful, quiet city) but with Rotterdam half an hour away by train, I have to visit this remarkable-looking city. Thanks for the suggestions, you've given me a lot of places to visit!
My pleasure 😇 I’m so happy you enjoyed the video. I also made a video about The Hague, did you see it?
@@theintrepidguide Yes, I did. I'm sorry if I didn't thank you for that video, too. It was excellent and I'll be rewatching it in preparation before I go!
@@DJ_Pigg No worries at all! I hope it was helpful :) Have a wonderful trip :)
@@theintrepidguide I spent last Friday in Rotterdam and have to thank you, again, for this video. What a spectacular city! Before I went, I was sorry to hear that the Boijmans museum was closed for renovations but the city itself was so awesome that I was actually glad not to have given up 2/3 hours of my time being indoors. I'll definitely go back, once the museum is open again!
@@DJ_Pigg That's amazing! I'm so glad my video helped you :) Thank you for letting me know. I really appreciate the feedback :)
This is a brilliant video! It perfectly reflects the beautiful architecture of the Nederland's most beautiful city and the incredible vibe the city has. Just needed to include Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip) to make it even more perfect. Erg goed!
Very good video,, very informative. I am glad that I found it, thank you so much for making it.
My pleasure 😇 so glad to hear you enjoyed it 😁
Awesome tour and recommendations! Thanks a lot :) xx
Thank you for your kind words, Marie. I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)

Really nice tipps! Thank you!
That was a great video and made me miss Rotterdam which I've visited for the first time last August 🙂 I reaallly digged tbe vibe of this city. Hope I can go back someday!
I really enjoyed it too! It’s a very cool city, modern but still got lovely pockets of old buildings. So glad you enjoyed your time there 😁
Great job! I live in this amazing city and you truly did a wonderful job capturing the Rotterdam vibe!
That’s very kind of you to say, thank you so much Anne-Chris 😀🤩🤓 I loved every minute of Rotterdam.

I was in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.. and i didnt like Amsterdam that much. Rotterdam is more beautiful😊😊😊
You're making the natives of Rotterdam very happy saying that 😂
Beata ofcourse Rotterdam is the best end better than Amsterdam 😉
I live in Rotterdam 🤗
Than you have a poor taste..in The Netherlands all people think Rotterdam is one of the ungliest cities along with Assen, Tilburg and Almere.
Almost every city in the Netherlands is better. ('s Hertogenbosch, Maastricht, Arnhem and Nijmegen)
(Not an Amsterdammer)
Rotterdam is more like a city. It looks metropolitan and modern looking. Whilst Amsterdam looks more like a village which is stuck in the 17th century.
Nice Video of Rotterdam. A city that I like and have family members living
Thank you, Ray :) Hopefully you can visit your family there again soon :)
Thank you so much for this video! I’m going to Amsterdam in April and I’m taking the train to Rotterdam for 3 days after 4 days in Amsterdam, and now I know some things I have to see!
My absolute pleasure. I'm so glad you found it useful. Have a wonderful trip :)
The Intrepid Guide I subscribed and I’ll definitely be checking on more video when I travel to places you’ve covered!
A traveling Bryant Just a warning about Amsterdam and Rotterdam: Amsterdam is very run down for a Dutch city because the government refuses to invest in livability in the central part. This is because practically no dutch people still live in central Amsterdam, it’s just offices air bnb’s and foreigners. The architecture is amazing tho and absolutely one of its kind, even in the Netherlands.
As for Rotterdam: it’s really poor. Crime and poverty rates are sky high. It’s the poorest city in the Netherlands with the lowest average income. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a homeless person there.
Also, public transport in both cities sucks. Most busses are still running on diesel and trains and trams are often overcrowded and super expensive. Luckily the Netherlands loves pedestrians so you’ll be able to get around on foot and otherwise with a rented bike perfectly fine!
Thanks so much for this very informative video with beautiful pictures. :-))))
My pleasure. I’m so glad you enjoyed it 😁
Beautiful video, great job! I am a 'Rotterdammer' and I feel proud of my city by seeing this video :-D!
Thank you so much :)

thank you so much! really really appreciate your feedback 😊
Thank you 💛
Wow, you did a great job making this video about Rotterdam! I see you liked the windmills at Kinderdijk, as well as you did like Delfshaven. Well, then you should definitely visit Schiedam too during your Rotterdam trip. It's only 10 minutes out by metro (lines A/B/C) from the city centre of Rotterdam or you can take tram 21 or 24 as well. Schiedam has beautiful canals /harbours (havens), similar to the haven in Delfshaven and you'll find the tallest windmills in the world alongside them! One of those windmills, 'De Nieuwe Palmboom', has been turned into a museum mill and can be visited. You can climb all the way to the top. One of the other mills, 'De Noord', nowadays is a restaurant where you can eat really good. Schiedam is more than worth taking one half day of your time while visiting Rotterdam, especially if you like windmills!
Thank you so much for your kind words Willem and for your suggestion to visit Schiedam. I'm sorry I didn't know about it sooner. It sounds absolutely lovely :) I'll have to visit it next time I'm in town ;)
Wow! Michele. This is an amazing video and also extremely informative. The scenery, the landscape, the city sites etc. every bit of footage is so very impressive. Great job!! Well done!!
Thank you :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I hope it's inspired you to visit Rotterdam :)

How about the splashbus? You take a ride in the bus and this bus will drive into the water and give you a tour as a floating bus. Also the snerttram will be fun during winter. An old tram is driving through rotterdam where you ca and eat traditional Dutch pea soup.
Great video 👍
Thank you 😊
Nice vid👌👌🌹

Oh how wonderful. Lucky you :) thank you 😊
Visit the Zwaanshals in the North of Rotterdam, lots of shops and a brewery and vintage shops.
Come and see me on the Zwaanshals
Rotterdam is the most exciting Dutch city for a photographer. Much more variation than Amsterdam or "Disneyland" Maastricht.
Good work girl😊!
Great video!
I believe it gives new perspectives about the city, even to people that have been there before.
What month was when you recorded this? (the weather looked really nice)
I love living in Rotterdam :)
Pauluskerk(Church) is not a traditional church, but a shelter for the homeless, drug addicts and ilegal limmigrants. Also an office and helpdesk for these vulnerable persons. Worth visiting.
Good job 👍 👍 👍 👍
I am going to rotterdam next week and I would like to thank you for the amazing video

And of course Rotterdam has an awesome craft beer scene with many beer bars and a brewery/brewpub like Kaapse Brouwers and Brouwerij Noordt, located in an old fireman's station. Not to be missed!
I stayed in Rotterdam for 2.5 years and unfortunately by then I had not started drinking. Now I regret not drinking so much. I have missed such good beers. Shame
Should go there when i'm in Europe!
great!
Thank you so much 🤩
I like your guide of Rotterdam
