This is the most AMAZING and CLEVER knob fisture I have ever seen!!
Brilliant, superb video ,what an excellent set up to making traditional wooden knobs for hold downs etc, attention to detail is first class . Thank you.
Lovely jig, but I think that the knobs with T nuts you are using the wrong way round. The Wide part of the nut should be on top so as you tighten the knob the T nut is being drawn in towards the knob, the other way round, you could twist the knob right off the T nut. 👍
Without a doubt, this is the fastest and best knob making jig that I have seen. ❤
This has to be the best jig I’ve seen for knobs. The versatility of this is great
Nagyon jó,szép munka.ügyes
What a brilliant jig, I especially like the ability to vary the depth of the cut out ... very versatile ... superb 👍
CarpenSENSATIONAL
I've made knobs without a jig and looked at many jigs online. This is the best. Very versatile and easy to make. I built it and have made knobs with 3, 4, 5, and 5 ridges. I love that I can easily make any Sze and configuration with it. Thank you for sharing
Very nice setup, but way more complicated than other's I've seen.
Beautiful. I need to up my game like this to make anything for my dad.
Great jig and awesome woodworking skills
Excelente, parabéns ! 🇧🇷
Fantástico, genial!!!
Looks so great! Genius!
i had no idea of where you were going with angles you laid out. That is so cool!
Nice Job.. Very flexible design that allows you to use the same base to make different diameter knobs and adjust each of the depth of cut to vary the knobs to the grip you enjoy most by sliding the jig in the T-Track.. Excellent design Sir! Really Excellent!
This is the Way to get gread Wooden knobs 👍 5 from 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Comme toujours, aucune place a l'improvisation.Excellent.
Day by day I see your perfection!
Loved it!

Thank you for the tips provided by your video.
Nice jigs!!! I've never used them nut inserts. I always thread the wood and have never had an issue.
Brilliant!
VERY NICE!
Nicely done!
Excelente jig
I would love a set of plans for this. Please consider creating a website for that purpose. If you already have one, please share the link. Thank you.
hello. I can't make a plan. So there is no website.
This was cool! Thanks for sharing!
your jig is perfect i making one tonight ;) thanks
Feels so nice in the hand
ENCORE UNE FOIS FELICITATIONS.. TRES BEAU TRAVAIL... BELLES REALISATIONS ...PRISES DE VUES TRES NETTES
👍👍👍👏👏👏 UN BRICOLEUR MARSEILLAIS
VERY COOL!!!!
Buen trabajo...👍 🇵🇪
exelente¡¡¡
Keep up the good work
You could make a cutout, which had the diameter and thickness of the thread insert top. That way they would not stick out when inserted into the knob.
Bellisomo, ... very nice.
Was just looking for something like this
Great
Pengerjaan yang bagus pak

good detail
Professionale al massimo
I really like this design - simple and elegant. I'd like to make a recommendation to simplify the building of the base of the jig. Just cut a strip of wood to fit into the t-track, and then glue and pin brad to a single piece of plywood. It will hold fine and will allow you to skip the steps where you have to make the base in two pieces, and later dowel them together. I finished the entire base in less than 30 minutes.
The way I made the base is to keep the runner and base exactly parallel. It also solves the problem caused by the lack of runners. It takes a little more time, but it has its advantages. I always prefer to make it well rather than make it fast. thank you
Extreme comfort
If you visit my channel, there are videos.
I prefer a basic round shape with splines for grip..more ergonomic
How about adding dimensions?? It would be very helpful!
👍🏻👍🏻
Now that’s how to use your knob. LOL
Could you come out with a set of planes ?
I have Stanley Sweethearts #4 and #5, and a block plane from Veritas. In addition, there are several Japanese planes.
Oh my gosh, what is that beautiful tool called and where can I get one? 0:08
It is a Matsui scribing gauge made in Japan.
👍😀👏👏
💥💥💥😎
Could you please tell me if the size of the circle for the templates can be chosen or has a specific size, does this size influence the size of the knob to be built? A suggestion to make your video brighter than it already is and help other people make a similar one would be to provide at least some important measures... Thank you!!! Good jobs
The size of the circle doesn't matter. It can be 5 inches or larger or smaller. The important thing here is to draw and set the angle correctly. Draw a smaller circle starting from the center of the 3-, 4-, and 5-angle circles and put a point exactly on the circle. That's the key.
@@carpentak Ok my friend, thank you very much
@@carpentak ok I saw it. Thank you !!
Very nice, thank you. When drilling out the shaped knobs, could you not remove the 1/4" pilot bit from your hole saws? That way it wouldn't impact and mar your nice jig templates.
You are right, but it is inconvenient for me to remove those bits one by one when I use them. And since there are bits, stability is increased. I don't care about damage to the jig. thank you
Maçanetas? São manípulos.
I like your idea is there any to get dimensions on building it?
There is no plan. I can't make it.
do you by any chance have plans for this jig?
I can't make plans.
Hi it’s a great video from a great man can you let me know where can I get the Avro solid hard oil from please thanks
I bought that oil here in Korea. So, no useful information for you. thank you
Ok but this oil better than Tung oil what the special about it thanks
Tung oil is also good. However, it dries much faster than tung oil. That's why I often use Auro Oil.
Great job👍🏻 You are using the insert the wrong way. Turn the knob so that the flange is on top, visible. It‘s not good looking but mechanicaly right, so the flange gets pulled against the knob when tightened. Otherwise you‘ll pull the knob and the insert apart. Good luck👋🏻
You are right. So I use instant glue there to prevent it coming off. thank you
@@carpentak yes, I‘ve well noticed that but a drop of glue might not withstand great torque? At least this is my experience with very same thing😉
By inlaying the flange one can achive a better look?
👋🏻
🙋♂️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏
Can you explain why at 5:33 you offset the lines? Is it only becuase of the angle of the clamp?
The line in the center of the base is the reference point for everything. Create a center point on it and that will be the axis of the circular templates. It draws other lines based on the first line.
@@carpentak Thank you!
Hallo
Where did you get that marking tool shown @ 0:08?
It is matsui's scribing gauge. Search and you will find it. I bought a used one.
Do you sell plans for this jig?
There is no plan. Sorry
What is that caliper/ruler tool you are using at 8 seconds into your video?
It is a scribing gauge from MATSUI in Japan.
@@carpentak Isn't this tool Veiko? Available on Alliexpress and Banggood? I have a Ruler T from this brand and it's great
That's right, I have that too. That's good too.
Please tell me where I can get the dowel drilling jig you use.
@0:08 what type of ruler/scribe is that?
This is a Matsui scriber from Japan.
Great Jig, I am impressed. Do you have a dimensional drawing?
There are no drawings. Dimensions are not important here. The key is to lay out the correct center line and angles accurately from the center.
I really love the jig but you need to talk. Could you use thread inserts in place of the tee nut?
That's possible too, but you have to be careful. Wood may crack. Plywood is suitable for it. thank you
Suggestion: use a tap, tap threads in the knob center hole & glue in a piece of threaded rod or just tap threads (no threaded insert needed)

It would be nice if you would provide plans in metric and imperial. This would allow those fairly new to woodworking to make this.
