Poor Nanny screaming and begging for help at the end is just heartbreaking.

At least the puppies and Pongo and Perdie returned home.

Those two have been very naughty men!
Threatening poor Nanny.

It was so funny that he said not even for a cup of tea after Nanny chucked a teapot at him 😂😂😂

These Disney classics still hold up visually for sure. I still think this animation is top notch despite being over 60 years old! Rest In Peace Wolfgang Reitherman (one of the directors and artists). If he could see Disney now and what a monstrosity they’ve become, I’m sure the guy is rolling in his grave.

A true classic never goes outta style.
Yeah and a human can’t have a Dalmatian fur coat for a fashion because it’s against the law and the laws of nature and where it was all coming through was because cruella hired Anita to draw a Dalmatian fur coat on paper.
Nice chucky reference
What makes Nanny an essential character? She was pissed at the thought of them stealing the good silver; she was heartbroken and sad when she found out they stole the puppies. She'd rather have them steal the silver than the dogs.
Nanny sounds like Madam Mim from The Sword In The Stone

I do agree. Nanny loved and adored those puppies. They’re like babies, and like they always say, you never get between a mother and her baby.
Not to mention the fact that Roger, Anita, Pongo, Perdita and the puppies are like family to her.

That was such a well written line Jasper says about the “required inspection” to the house. He sounds so professional even though it is a total bluff! 😂

And just think, these were the 2 best henchmen Cruella could find/afford.
Maybe they were the only ones dumb enuff to take the job. Stealing puppies for their skins is kind of a ridiculous gig.
Not to mentioning these two were in just for the money.
Cruella hired Horace and jasper to steal the fifteen puppies for her and bring them to her in the devil mansion so that she make a Dalmatian dog skin coat out them with the 84 Dalmatian puppies and that’s why she said to Roger Anita pongo perdita and nanny she’ll get even and they’ll be sorry.

3:06 G’night Ducky, Ta-Ta!!
If only the 1996 live action version of this scene was more like the original 1961 version, it would have been more funny.
If only the rest of the live action versions of other classics was as decent as the live action version of 101 dalmations.
I thought the live-action version was okay. Different but felt a bit more natural. Joan Plowright's Nanny is immediately terrified of Jasper and Horace and tries to close the door, and then manages to deck Horace before Jasper overpowers her. The original though is definitely the best, what with Horace saying "gas company" and Jasper desperately trying to correct him, and Jasper's pretty convincing bluff about the act of parliament. Also "Long-Legged Lummox" is such a great insult!
The original Wario and Waluigi.
And similar to Harry and Marv the Wet Bandits, since John Hughes the producer of Home Alone, also produced 101 Dalmatians the 1996 live action remake.

The one part of this scene that I could never fully understand was why didn't Nanny immediately pick up the telephone and call the police the instant she discovered the puppies wer stolen because she would have gotten a hold of the police soo much faster than just running out of the house and screaming and rushing to find the police.

What’s sad is that the puppies being stolen could’ve been avoided if Pongo, Perdy, and the owners would’ve took Cruella’s revenge warning more seriously and set up more security to protect the puppies cause Cruella wasn’t giving up so easily and all of this was to exact revenge on Roger for standing up to her as well.
But then we wouldn't have had a movie, now, would we?

I saw this full length cartoon at the movie theater back in 1961 at the ripe old age of 9, as I'm 71 now. Cartoons back in those days were very well put together, with attention paid to every detail unlike today's cartoons. Today they just don't put the work into them, thinking kids won't notice the poor quality. The old Warner Brother's (with Bugs Bunny, for instance) were backed by a complete sound effects department and a full orchestra!

I have absolutely no idea what the nanny is thinking here, she's an elderly woman all alone in the house, has no possible way of defending herself, she sees two large, extremely suspicious looking men ringing the bell, and she opens the door ??
That's just *asking* for trouble.
Never thought about that. The whole film could’ve been avoided if the the Radcliffes would’ve took Cruella’s actions more seriously and the older woman should’ve closed the door once she saw the two henchman and called the police right away.
But as eddy said three decades later on the 90s Cartoon Network show Ed edd n’ eddy to double d ideas like that would’ve ruin the plot. T.v. Shows or movies

Some of us would question why Nanny opened the door to strangers at night. However, it was considered rude and disrespectful to not open the door for people. You didn't just not open the door. However, Nanny was suspicious from the beginning and tried to close the door on them and tried to put up a fight against them. Not only did Jasper and Horace look suspicious, but their speech, bag, and even saying they were there to inspect the wiring and the switching at night when the electricity is working is definitely an off put.

Even in 1960, the electric company isn't going to show up for unannounced for a surprised inspection at night unless the neighborhood generator blows up and/or the whole block is out. Certainly not when your electricity is working. City inspectors show up at my house from time to time during the day to let you know what they've checked on outside, or if there is an upcoming inspection, they leave a note, or we get a notification in the mail. If I'm not home or don't open the door, they leave a note. I don't believe they've ever asked to enter the house, and they can't without the homeowner's permission. Basically, if parliament or the city say that everybody needs an inspection, they'll inform you beforehand, not show up at the door unannounced, certainly not at night.
Horace and Jasper pushed their way into the house, locked Nanny in the attic, and stole the puppies!
