Someone pulled out of a junction a mile ahead of me? Better speed up to them and beep when I'm up close to let them know how much of an arse I am!
Here’s a crazy idea, but hear me out. Dashcammers, if someone pulls out on you instead of hitting the horn, hit the brakes. It’s a crazy concept I know, but trust me, it works.
I'll agree most of the people pulling out ARE a-holes, most of them weren't really that close! Plenty of time to slow down! What I really can't stand is when the fucktards pull out in front of me and then do 10 below the speed limit! Drives me nuts, lol!

Tigtebb - don't hog the outside lane, if you do you'll inevitably annoy somebody. Drive properly and there won't be an issue.
You can clearly see he/she was overtaking a car and the white Audi was sitting right up his/her arse whilst doing so. The white car should've been more patient instead of trying to bully people out the way.
Exactly this! Overtake and get back in the inside lane. The Audi was hardly tailgating, then to swerve over when he tries to undertake is ridiculous.

Goes both ways. I was overtaking a lorry at 70 and some BMW came up my arse and flashed.. Was no need for it just an impatient prick like all BMW and Audi peddle punchers "drivers seems such a strong word for them as it implies Skill"

Got my CBT recently, what's your best advice for riding? If you don't mind me asking
@@amyk9813 As a (Dutch) biker, my advise, just slow down (or at least get off the gas) when you're near crossings, side roads, exits etc.. Make sure there are no drivers wanting to get on your road (or crossing it). Or make sure they have seen you. As a biker you must look for two, always drive like the other didn't see you coming. Make sure your head- and taillights are on (extra visibility), wear a high-vis jacket. And not at least, enjoying your ride is also possible at driving at the speed limit (and it is a lot better for your mood and blood pressure).
Better hit the brakes then hit the car ;-)
@@amyk9813 Agree with Gilles, the key is defensive driving - treat everyone else on the road like they're idiots who will do stupid things any moment (because they will!) Keep a constant watch in front but be aware of what is behind & to the sides as people think you can stop on a dime & will pull out in front of you, cut you off & change lanes on top of you. Give yourself room to maneuver so you can hopefully avoid these things. Also, be aware that car drivers are looking for other cars - they will look right at you but not SEE you as you are not a car (same for bicycles). It sounds like a lot to remember & do but experience (& practice) makes it second nature :) Enjoy your riding!
@@amyk9813 assume that ‘nobody has seen you’ so to speak. Your awareness on your surroundings and of other drivers’ actions will improve the more you’re on the road... and always wear appropriate gear. On a sunny day for example, it’s not worth it to ride in shorts/ t shirt as some riders do.

Of the other cars, the first did nothing wrong that I could see? The second one slightly cut the corner but was nowhere near causing an accident.

People cutting junctions like that is one of the very few things that still triggers me, it's so lazy and unnecessary.

5:30 I just came here to say the same thing. Tigtebb overtakes the grey Audi and should have pulled back to the left lane, but didn't. He then deliberately blocks the white Audi from undertaking him - twice. I appreciate undertaking isn't necessarily a good idea, and I hate drivers who brake-check other drivers, but Tigtebb absolutely provoked this situation. He's a lousy driver and submits this clip as if he's blameless - definitely TOTW! 🙄
I know it's a dickish thing to do, but that's why I end up undertaking people on motorways. I see some people for miles just staying in the middle lane. So if they can't be bothered to use a motorway properly I'm not going to bother using my fuel and tires to go all the way to the outside lane just to overtake someone who should have been in the left lane to start with

Maybe yes. But people refusing to pull back to lane one after passing a vehicle is the most common thing on the road after tailgating (ie under 2 seconds).

I must see it all the way to work daily - I have a 5 mile stretch of dual carriageway before meeting a motorway, of which I’ll guarantee as soon as I see one car it’ll be in the outside lane all the way - I give up.
Looks to me like he was waiting until he was 2 secs ahead of the grey car before pulling back across, which is good driving. As he moves he spots the Audi going for an undertake so moves back, at which point the Audi moves back, so he goes left as the Audi does. He is trying to avoid the Audi, not block it.
He is entitled to overtake only slightly faster than the car he is overtaking, even if it is annoying, and certainly should wait until he is an appropriate distance ahead before cutting back in, ESPECIALLY if he isn't going much faster.
So quick to judge, but watch the clip again.

@ 5:29, At first, I thought, ah another idiot. BUT the driver was overtaking legally and properly. After you overtake a car, you can't just merge straight back in, you have to leave sufficient distance to the vehicle you have overtaken, the cammer did better but not perfect, there was only 3 car lengths and should have left a second gap. Then there is a slip road, which requires extra caution as there could be a car merging onto the motorway in their blindspot. At the moment the cammer went to move back in, the white Audi went to undertake, placing himself in the blindspot. The only tool is the loose nut behind the steering wheel of the white Audi, aggressively tailgating at less than 1 car length, then attempting to undertake and then throwing his dummy out the pram because he had to wait for someone else.....
@@khalidacosta7133 I see your point, and the slip road caution is spot on, but the cammer appears to purposely change lanes x3 to block the Audi. Maybe looks like it as they attempt to workout where the Audi is going, but I suspect it was deliberate. Both fools IMO.
@@SqueekyBums First was to move to lane 1. Second time was to avoid a crash, which once done, wanted to return to lane 1 again. It's easy to criticize someone's driving from behind the screen when we have time to process and analyse the information but the driver had fractions of a second. I'd give the benefit of doubt in this one.

Yes they shouldn't be overtaking near a junction, but they were, and it's the responsibility of the person joining that road to ensure it's safe to do so. If he'd have collided with that van, even though the van was doing something wrong according to the Highway Code, he would still be found 100% at fault. A former colleague of mine did the same thing, hit a biker who was overtaking because my colleague didn't look left, 100% at fault.

As much as it annoyed the Audi driver, he has every right to ensure that the slip road is clear before pulling in. Any decent driver would have known that and waited a few extra seconds before busting a blood vessel (well, any decent driver wouldn't have acted like a twat in an Audi - probably trying to show the other Audi driver who has the biggest throbber). I can't speak as to what went on afterwards but the whole thing looked like confusion compounded by aggressive impatience. I have to say that the Audi driver was the bigger twat there, though not being the cammer disqualifies him from TOTW, obviously.

Tigtebb Cotw, he isnt just hogging the outside lane he is purposefully trying to block the Audi from getting passed, switching lanes trying to block him. The break check is nothing in comparison. Surprised the Audi made the thumb nail.

Lane hogging is not the worst thing he's done in this video... he's literally blocking the other car from overtaking by cutting them off on each lane.
If he was lane hogging, that would have been sort of, kinda, ok. But the absolute idiotic maneuvers he was doing are not lane hogging. He should have his licence revoked.

@@jnhhhhhhhh I don't know if it was intentional or not. Looks like a case of mistaken intentions - tigtebb moves over to the left but didn't expect the audi to try and undercut them; moves back to the right to get out of their way, but again doesn't expect the audi to move back into the right lane.
I reckon the audi was being an impatient nob seeing how berserk they go with the brake check, but can't tell without more video...

I'm going to defend Tigtebb here, they've stayed in the outside lane because of the sliproad on their nearside.
In some countries they have a solid white to prevent cars moving from lane 2 into lane 1 when there's a slip road, it's a very good idea and something I'd like to see in the UK.
Mirrors and a quick check over the shoulder would tell you it’s clear.
@@Batters56 - doesn't work if you're driving a van. Best thing to do is move over after the slip like the cammer did. It's a clever bit of driving that goes over most people's head.

I’m not saying he does have right of way, but overtaking near junctions is still a dick move.
@@justinadcock4536 when you're travelling at 60mph it's difficult to spot junctions just like that if they're not signed.
My point being, some people think it's okay to do what this driver has done, because "they have been driving on the other side of the road" utter idiotism. That driver didn't look both ways which is what could've caused a tragic accident.
Not quite sure how I am in the wrong, turning left and the van is on the wrong side of the road about to turn right. The Mercedes was actually under taking him so god knows how long he had been driving on the wrong side of the road.
@@waynehurl7242 Allow me to explain it: The Give Way sign and road markings is a legal requirement. It has a specific law enforcing it, which says vehicles approaching the give way lines from a side road MUST give way to ALL vehicles on the major road beyond it. There's no exceptions to this.
What the van driver was doing was stupid (and I reckon he was half-asleep, and thought he was on a dual carriageway), but it wasn't illegal.
In Criminal Court, they would rule that the cammer (I guess that's you) committed an offence by failing to give way at the markings.
In Civil Court they would split the blame around around 70/30 with the cammer taking the brunt of the liability.
The moral of the story is this: Look BOTH ways when emerging from a side road.

8:45 one of my biggest pet hates, slip lane is for getting up to speed not for braking at the last moment because you assume people can get out the way, as a hgv driver I see this all too often
Getting up to speed to an extent, more important is judging the speed of traffic and getting in the right space to join the road - better to join at 40 and let people pass you (if safe to join at 40) than plough in at 70 and cause an accident
Yeah well good thing i have 350hp because lower displacement cars once they need to slow down to yield end up causing a hazard. But hey the guy on the motorway has the right of way and is not required to give way. Or vacate the lane. So why should he? Ill answer that because its the human thing to do. Ive seen rear end smashes because some dick on the motorway didnt let them in so they get hit from behind due to emergency stopping....It is what it is. Not everyone has your confidence driving..not everyone has a long slip road to judge...not everyone has a 120 or more hp car. Easier said than done to merge from a slip road with a low powered car when lane 1 has no interest or decides to speed up to beat you to it..
@@blademanx it’s the human thing to do but in a 44 ton 16m long vehicle it’s not as easy to slip between lanes as it is in a car, if your joining a motorway slower than a truck is travelling ~14mph less than the speed limit you shouldn’t really be on the road
@@blademanx and as an FYI in my first car, a 75hp polo I could manage it, in a 50hp courtesy car I could manage it, it’s just sheer incompetence to not be able to merge correctly

8:42 ok in this case they could've gone if they'd reacted fast enough but seriously, slip roads in the UK are a nightmare sometimes. Why would you design a slip road in a way that it constantly narrows once it touches the motorway, has a length of what feels like 20 metres and doesn't have a hard shoulder after it that you could use if there's not enough room?
They don't call them slip roads any more, they're acceleration lanes. You're supposed to accelerate to match the speed of the traffic and merge in. NOT get there and stop. As you approach look to see where your gap is and either speed up or slow down to merge easily. Do that, and it's very easy. Get there without looking at all and hope you merge into a gap, and you'll have problems.
@@bravo2966 there are a few situations, like when leaving Glasgow airport, where traffic comes into view at the last moment, due to a slope on the ramp, and then the accelaration lane is pretty short and there's no hard shoulder after it. I panicked in these situations as there was no way to prepare.
@@Erik24296 York Road in Leeds has several like that. Match the speed of the traffic and you'll be ok. Go slow 'to be on the safe side' and you'll cause problems for yourself and the unfortunate buggers behind you.
