top tip for any new driver i was strugling i ended up trying the roadsweepers and got a job straight away and money was amazing and the trucks are not so big so its the perfect introductry to hgv driving i would highly recommend looking at those if you are struggling for a job but once you get the exsperiance you can get a job that same day and be driving for another company that same day its crazy how easy it is to get a job once you have exsperiance one thing is it might be easy but the grass is 1000% not greener they all demmand to much no matter who you work for
Passed my class 2 in January and finally got a job driving a 26 tone bin wagon i start in a couple of weeks. Spent 3 days with their driving assessor training. There are jobs out there for new passes you just have to spend the time looking and don't get discouraged.
Passed class 2 last week start skip lorry on Monday. Moneys good, 2 weeks training and away I go, not worried about the driving of lorry more so about getting them skips on small drive ways now 😂

Mate the Shelby was a bag of nails to be fair but that supra was an animal the guy said I'm a jammer 😛🤣 got 90/100 on my driver's score haha and no probs mate

Yeah I'm in this boat, was absolutely chuffed to bits to have passed my class 2 3 months ago and couldn't wait to get behind the wheel!! I've contacted absolutely loads of transport companies now, and all I'm getting is NOPE!! It doesn't even get to my age or the fact I'm a newbie. No one is hiring!! I'm beginning to wish I hadn't have bothered with getting my license because I really didn't think it would be this hard to get a job!! Especially when I'm reading that there's a shortage!! What shortage!! I really want tipper work, but they're all saying the same thing, we're not hiring at the moment but we don't take on new drivers anyway!! So what I'd like to know is, how the hell do you get tipper experience if no tipper company Will take you on??? It's just utterly ridiculous and very frustrating!! The other frustrating thing is that I'm 43 and used to go all over the country with my old man in his tipper truck, he taught me everything I need to know about the job. But this means absolutely nothing to new employers!

This time of year is quiet on tippers , my old fella does class1 tippers at the moment and isn't getting as much work as usual. If the tipper game is chocka in your area then maybe try something else just to get your foot in the door? What area are you in I may know some companies?
im starting my theory soon, iv sent off for my forms for the medical, i have never had a driving job, but i do work at a warehouse and have helped unload HGVs on goods inn, i hope i enjoy a driving job and hope this is a great journey ahead, my friend done his class 2 just before covid hit, and he is helping me with loads of questions i have about the nitty gritty things, like how to do simple stuff you dont think about, like strapping stuff and that, im a bit worried that its not what im expecting i hope i dont regret doing this lol. leap of faith
If you love your own space, mooching about seeing sights and earning decent money learning something new then I'm sure you'll love it mate best of luck with everything nice to hear from you 👌

Not sure if you've been trying to fix the audio in the left ear only or not, but you'll find the solution in your editing software. You'll probably just have to change the audio from mono to stereo 👍
PS you've said a couple of times about keeping your taco clean.. what do you mean by that... just making sure you remember to hit the button for breaks etc? Thanks

Happy new year bud! Congrats on the pass!!!! And I'd recommend trying to get into waste for the time being. I've always been able to get into recycling jobs fairly easy even in the early days with little to no experience. Try tipper companies aswell that move muck, if your close to Manchester try pp o Connor they give driver training before they let you out on your own. Great company to work for in my opinion 👍 and passing your full class1 could benefit you but then again you could land in the same pot with not having experience. Be persistent and consistent ring around leave your number and you'll get a job driving it's just alot of companies can't/won't pay premiums for younger/less experienced drivers I've been told. Wish you all the best with it mate I'll be putting some more content up soon had a really shitty 2022 if I'm honest I'm unable to drive myself for the time being 😭 totally unrelated but I'll explain all in the new content nice to hear from you all the best for 2023 👌👍
Do you reckon it would be a good idea to drive 3.5t vans for a year or so to gain more driving experiance before moving over to class 2? or would that be just a waste of time? I am coming up for my cat b test soon and am only 21, although I have the money to do class 2 right after I think it would be a pain in the arse to find work considering my age and lack of time having a driving licence. Some drivers I have asked for advice have said to just do class 2 right away because I would get work easily with an agency, while others have said even agencies would be hesitant to employ me. Its a pretty big decision for me to make since I would be up shit street financially if I wasnt to get work lmao.
It's entirely on you bud, if you feel confident enough to go in for class 2 then go for it. I get what you mean about getting experience but personally I think it's best to go straight in for the class 2 if that's where you wanna be, once you get in a class 2 you'll realise they're not that scary 😛 width perception will come pretty quick on your taster session so go try it out and see what you think pal 👍

Lots of jobs out there advertise that they take new drivers. Otherwise an agency will sort you out
There are lots of jobs however alot of insurance companies don't take on under 25s or low experience

Yes just make sure your taking 45 minutes in the required time frame either 4 and a half hours driving or 6 hours of being in the wagon
