This is also known in Finland as Napoleon’s Tomb as well. Quite rare but fun solitaire. The way I learned it you are allowed to go through the deck twice which actually makes the game quite easy.
This reminds me a lot of gridcannon, and if anyone has been having fun with this version, gridcannon had recently had its rules revised and has a much better goal that its previous version, but requires a lot more concentraction for a good score. Check it out
When dealing the cards, you are looking for a 6 or a 7. If I 6 is dealt, it goes in the center pile, and 7s in the 4 corners. All other cards are dealt in the cardinal positions, and once those are filled, you deal into the discard. Once a 6 or a 7 is dealt, you can play on top of them from the cardinal positions: 6s are played down (5,4,3,2,A), and 7s are played up (8,9,10,J,Q,K). Once King is reached in the corners, that pile is complete. When Ace is reached in the center, you reset with another 6 (if dealt out already). As you play cards from the cardinals, you replace them with the cards on the top of the discard pile. The game is complete when all cards are played into the corners and center piles, which should leave you with 4 king cards and an ace card on top of their respective piles
@@miguelpires7489 if you cannot play any cards on the board or from the top of the discard, then you lose. You can only use the discard to replace cards you've played on the board
I just learned how to play this, my family members are always busy with something so i found this game and now i can play cards all by myself. Thank you so much!!!
The piles of cards above/below/left/right of the "tomb" are supposed to go up or down? For example in the video the game starts with a 3 on the right. What can you put on top? A 2 and then an Ace? Or 4 and then a 5? I have been going down, but after many attempts, I didn't finish even once 😂 and usually I end up with piles with and Ace on top... Thank you.
@@miriamsimoes3312 On the top, down, right, left you can put anything except a 6 or a 7. The cards on tge sides are like backup cards that you can use. hope this helps if it doesnt ask something again i’ll try to help
Bicycle playing cards are "the standard", good for all sorts of stuff, like magic tricks and playing. If you are interested in something more resistant, in the video I'm using Bee playing cards. These two options are also relatively inexpensive, compared to others. If you want to spend a little more money, for a better design, I think the ones created by Theory 11, like Contraband or Monarchs look very good.
Do the cards that are surrounded by in the middle do they go up in number or down in number? I understand the corner cards but I am stuck on the crossroad cards. Also, what is the name of this game? I knew I heard it was a French card game but would like the title if you know? Thank you!
Do I get to choose which cards I put Into my usable cards surrounding the 6 pile, or must I immediately replace empty spaces with cards from the discard? I've been playing with the latter and sometimes end up with something like two 3s and two 2s. Or 2 kings, a queen, and a J. And I usually lose with those sequences.
@@TheMeanderingGentleman Alright I'll look, thanks man! here is my edit: You definitely deserve more subscribers, I've only watched this video but your others look intriguing!
I am trying to get into playing cards and this seems like a fun game to start with! I had a question though, am I able to use the discard pile if it keeps revealing cards that I am able to use? For example, if the discard pile has a 5 on it and I place it on the 6 in the middle, and then there is a 4 underneath of the 5 I picked up, can I use that 4 or is it cheating to continually take from the discard pile?
Some decks contain promotional cards, especially those from bicycle or printed by the United States Playing Card Company. They are just some cards that are not used in any game, in my deck there was one showing the hands in poker, sometimes a card with a link to some website.
It's just an Ed JAMAZ said, the version I described here does not allow you to flip through the discard pile. If you were able to, you would always win.
If you have no cards left in your hand or on the table in the discard pile (and five stacks of cards, four of which end with kings and one taller one with an ace).
So corners you count up from 7 middle you count down from 6 what are face card values and do you win one you have went to face to ace in all spots with all cards used. answer would be greatly appreciated
You win when all the cards are arranged. The cards with drawings on them- j,q,k- go in the corners. You can think of the ace as just one, and it goes in the middle.
If all the cards are dealt on the four piles - the one in the middle that goes from 6 to ace four times and the ones in the corners that go from 7 to k.

I do have a question how do you lose by running out of cards or running out of cards to place because that part really confuse me I'd appreciate it
There are two variants of the game, the easier version allows you to flip over the discard pile to reuse once more. The harder version doesn’t.
It's just an Ed JAMAZ said, the version I described here does not allow you to flip through the discard pile. If you were able to, you would always win.
What if u run out of the side column that’s supposed to fill blank spots on the game ?
You use the cards that have not been turned (the ones remaining in the face-down pack), and if those have also run out, you lose.
So what happens when all of the cards are in discard and the game hasn’t finished yet?
You lose the game.
I might have missed this- but how do you win?
If you have no cards left in your hand or on the table in the discard pile (and five stacks of cards, four of which end with kings and one taller one with an ace).

what if you have a 5 on the extra piles, do you put a 6 card or leave it????

In that order.
