I literally found this chest myself while trying to climb Novigrad's walls. When I found it I got excited and was expecting something rare. Then it turned out to be the most-trashiest-but-hard-to-find loot ever.

I stopped looting every chest like this (not hidden, but in the walls gate) after tired of selling mediocre stuff since there’s nothing worth keeping...
it's not about the treasure inside the chest, but the *journey* how to get it.

@e fred Annoying how the game never tells you about this. I didn't find out about it until after finishing the game.
@e fred I mean, alchemy is far easier than being a blacksmith. A witcher doesn't have time to hammer a sword but mixing a few ingredients isn't that big of a deal.

just save the game status beforehand and if Geralt falls down during such actions and dies, that's no problem either, just try again if you like ... as simple as that 😉

Yeah, It’s extremely rare. I was using swords I found for 5-8 levels below my level cuz I couldn’t find any
I completed the GoTY version recently
Went to every marker in the game, did all but 3 side quests from the base game & DLC
Loot drops are loads better in the DLC though

Very rarely, in guarded treasures or smuggler loot there was an upgrade for me but not really worth mentioning anyway. It's still nice that the prices for that stuff goes up so you can easily make a thousand coins sometimes. Not even sure how much money I need in this game, though. All of the rare materials I seem to find on my own.
The game only focuses on the special sets of wizard schools, all other items are junk.

Actually, this chest can be retrieved while doing the gwent card quest (that's the door you can access). When you are chasing the guy for the money/card.

@@publicdefenceservice I actually really enjoy gwent games tbh. My first playthrough i didnt touch it at all but my second and third i do play it. Its really quite fun tbh.

U can literally climb near any house in novigrad lmao, wasnt intended bc most of it is glitchy but its kinda fun doing that
just hold the jump button while you are in midair and geralt will grab the ledge
You may have gotten the chest, but now you must pass the Trial of 2 Foot Falls
No easy task considering Geralt takes fall damage just walking downstairs
See this is the problem with wither , you can find the most deserted hard to find chest and whats inside is always shiet especially compared to witchers items like griffin etc.
@Alper Kılıç Griffin is op as fuck if you have good build, playing with this set on level 75 and my Geralt is a beast

Well a lot of times you find diagrams for better potions and bombs and oils which make it worth it. Not so much the gear tho.
It is probably forgotten than secret.
Or randomly placed. Much of the loot in the game is placed randomly, then some of it is purposely placed, with valuable items, like caves guarder by monsters and such.
9 times I have played through this game. I never knew you could even get up there! God it's crazy this game is still giving up secrets 5 years after it's been released!

That's some pretty good climbing for a guy that can't walk downstairs without tripping and hurting himself. Or board a boat without ending up in the water on the othe rside of it.Or figure out how to change direction at all while swimming. (I love the game btw)
Geralt is already a nightmare to control. I can't imagine doing this
W3 movement gameplay suckass. Especially swimming and Vehicle-control (horse riding). If not for the disastrous movement control, this game would be total flawless masterpiece.
@@m.iqbal_akbar you play with keyboard? I plugged my xbox360 controler into the usb port of my PC and the movement control with a gamepad is quite easy.

I love that they went to all the trouble of putting a chest in such a ridiculous location... And then just made it a totally standard chest.
Listening to that music puts me right back in Novigrad.

Tbh, this stuff is all around Novigrad, on the rooftops, especially near the large tree in the back of the town. Just parkour your way up there; if it looks like it can be done, then there will be loot. Even found my way into a top floor room with no other access, with a dead body in it (that I didn't put there, lol).

if you climb some rocks behind Rosa Van Attre house you’ll find a chest with a dwarven blade, and some other good stuff, quite useful for beginners
i just now realised i missed this part of gameplay..... climbing to various building and searching stuff... damn time to replay this game... again....
Free running in this game might have been the only real problem I had with it. I can't describe it perfectly but you feel like the character does not respond well to your controls and seems like he's sliding everytime (some animations are a bit clunky too).
To get to this chest I guess the guy had to be extremely careful when he hit the joystick as only slightly moving it usually resulted in Geralt sliding on 3 meters and taking a long time to fully stop. To compare it to another game trying to have this inertia when controlling the character it was well better handled in rdr2 in my opinion and it also had way more finesse in responding to your inputs.
Still one of the best video game experiences I had but how many falls could have been avoided if the free running system was a bit better.
There is alternative run control in the options since 2015.
@@DravicPL what does it change? The inputs? Cause I doubt it will change this "sliding on 3 meters straight and taking 5 additional meters to stop after moving the joystick" effect as it seemed to be in the core of the free running system (the animations, physics of the game, etc.)
@@Hibbzon maybe just try it out instead of talking shxt, they made alternative controls very early into the game's update cycle and I've always used it whenever I play Witcher 3.
It literally makes you turn nearly in place if you input sudden direction change.
@@DravicPL well I deleted the game to make space for new ones but damn if this was really useful I'd like to have known that before.
It doesn't change the fact that I still find some animations a bit clunky (the jumping and running in particular) and that the sensations were a bit off on that part (Geralt feels a bit too "light", thus the feeling of him sliding instead of running) but it definitely could have been a game improver if it works well.

Oh man. For whatever reason, this reminds me of the days of Battlefront 2 (the OG), jumping up onto invisible walls and exploring glitchy secrets in the maps.
Renegade Squadron had a bunch of fun glitches, in Nabboo for example if you parked any vehicle against a particular wall and got out of it you would appear behind the wall and get away with murder from there

Not sure how successful it would be though. Considering todays political correctness development it must be near impossible to make a legitemately good game anymore. Too many politically correctness mobs to please and it seem to me that these mobs are the one's to dictate the future for all normal people for some reason.
Pretty sure the developers said they were done with the series. The most they might do is remaster the first game but they said even that isn't likely.

Its pretty annoying that they hide stuff like this on some roofs, but others are covered with invisible walls
It's cause there is an actual way to get there during a quest. You're not really supposed to do much roof parkour in the game lol

I Play TW 3 on PS4 and saved the game before I looted it. After restarting it the loot has improved to a Nilfgaardian Guardsman Armor and not only did it change, it also upgrades when you restart it again to a yellow piece

Fast travelling is the answer.
That bomb at the end was a firework for being able to escalate that high. The loot though was poor af. 4x Florens 😭 and a jacket I won't ever wear.
