I find using a 1.5 meter lenght single wire works perfectly for fm reception. Apparently its called a tuned length ...or 2 wires at 75cm each also works. Keep the great videos coming.greetings from Perth Australia
I have recently discovered your channel and really enjoy watching your videos. I too have the Akai AM 2200 I also have the Akai AM 2600 and Akai AA 1030. Personally I think that these Akai's are underated and sound better than the Pioneers from the same time 👍🏼
I have the Akai AM & AT 2400 Integrated Amp & Tuner. A nice sound, similar to Yamaha, not very powerful wattage wise, but surprisingly plays very well on most of my speakers. A keeper for me!
Mooie apparatuur! Mijn vader had is een keer van een van zijn collega's een Akai AT-2200 en een AKAI AM-2250 gekregen :)
My loved amp singing like angels as stereox said
it's quite simple to make an fm antenna. you need to make a T shape and each side has to be two and a half ft across giving you 5ft in total, the down wire has to have a quarter of an inch gap between the two, sandwich this with a piece of sticky tape between the two, ideally not more than 8 ft long and placement on which wall is important.
and has to be behind the tuner ideally
Nice video, Amazing condition of the amplifier and tuner, are these metal knobs? Mind you, this is a budget amplifier from the 70's.
You triggerd my interest in tuners, so I am curious about your diy antenna vid.
Hey Andrew. Is this amp.(AM-2200) similar at the Sansui-AU-4400(2x 20 watt/8 ohm), soundwise?
you can't compare this akai with the sansui ore marantz 2216b/2218, those sound better
@@vintagestereo Okay Andrew, i own this amp.(AU-4400), totaly restored
Sounds great indeed, although i prefer the AU-317, also recapped.
Maybe because it’s 2x 50 watts(AU-4400 2x 20 watts)??
Use a pair of Dali Oberon 5 speakers and Bluesound Node 2i streamer.
Sounds great, for my ears..
I ‘m from Holland as well
@@louisdefunes8952 I believe the 317 goes to deep. Good match for speakers what doesn't go deep but not good match for my hecos
@@vintagestereo Yeah, you're right; some tracks gives a lot(to much) bass. Depends also how the track is recorded/mixed in the studio. But yeah indeed; the AU-317 paired with the Dali Oberon 5's gives lots of low frequenties.
Anyway i'm happy with my setup. Just looking for/change music; Spotify and Tidal. Via Bluesound Node 2i streamer
@@vintagestereo Thanxx Andrew, probably Klipsch RP600M(het lijkt wel een motorfiets😄) or Focal 806...
Beauties
Hi Andrew! It's a pity you don't have some Dutch amp reviews! No love for them...?
not really but who knows what I score in the future
@@vintagestereo They say that Philips has done something good (FA 860 and 960, Laboratories Series, and something older). We don't get so many reviews about vintage Dutch gear...
@@paolofrullini8275 Yes correct but the looks doesn't make me warm and they don't come cheap
OLD system Verygood sound. i like Akai. Marantz. Sansui. Sony Trio. Realistic. Technics. Yamaha. Luxman. Victor. Sanyo. Diatone. Lo-d all full tur like 😅😅😂😂
Hello Andrew. I am back. I have a new phone. It sounds a bit flat but not bad. Greetings Wielent.
