Soul Edge is the final boss in the game. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== About Soul Edge =====
He is the main boss and antagonist in the Soul series. His design comprises of him being an aura of flames for his body with a skeletal skull for his head. He is one of the original characters to appear in the very first Soul Edge game.
In Soul Blade/Edge, he is basically a more powerful version of Cervantes. As well as having Cervantes' moveset, he has a few additional extra moves and changes.
===== Additional Information =====
---- He is also known as Inferno in the sequels.
---- Whenever you fight CPU Soul Edge, the versus screen background is a unique pirate flag.
---- If you select him in Edge Master Mode, he freezes the game after the messed up intro.
===== About PS1 Soul Blade =====
The PS1 version of the game is one of the all-time greats on the console, and is one of the best 'conversion/port of an arcade game'. Aside from the loading times (which are very short anyway) it's virtually arcade perfect. It helped that the arcade original ran on hardware that was already based on the PS1 hardware.
The PS1 version has tons of features that are not found in the arcade original. For example, the port has 2 extra remixed soundtracks, new character costumes, new weapons, cinematic endings for the characters, the superb Edge Master Mode and more. - Hry

this game was truly ahead of its time. its an underdog original. I still prefer this one over the newest soul calibur game out

@@jubiladoatope No, it's nostalgia. SCVI literally has everything Soul Blade has and even more than that despite working on a limited budget.

I have more fun playing Soul Calibur and Toshinden games than Tekken and Street Fighter games, i really hate Tekken and Street Fighter and i think they are more popular because have a Big Fanbase but that doesn't mean they are the best Fighting games 😒
he cannot be selected in the arcade version, along with cervantes. so a hack will need to be put on it to play as them.
in some arcade version only cervantes can be selected

how do you escape a throw?
Using triangle or square, depends if the throw is made with X + square or X + triangle.
Press the same button as your opponent's throw.X+Square = Square
X+Triangle = Triangle
How to unlock him please tell
Beat the game with every single character or leave the game on for 12 hours
Why not have Opponents at 12 Stages Randomly 1 through 12 as The Final Boss in Arcade Mode & Time Attack Mode when one of them have or not already Unlocked same goes for Edge Master Mode
There is a way to unlock soul edge but how? can anyone please tell me?
Beat Arcade Mode with all 10 regular characters at least once. Once you've done that, Soul Edge's icon will appear in the middle of the character select screen.
Ahh i see. Thank you. But wait.. Nothing wrong will happen if i used the same character many times on arcade mode right? its not like it will reset or?.. idk
That'll be fine, once you complete Arcade Mode with a character it will register it.
