About an hour before this came out, I finished task no. 169 (nice) and thought about going to Konar for no. 170. Realised I couldn't be fucked doing that and went back to Duradad instead. Fully agree, King!
It was at first, very novelty to be sent to some of these wacky sub-optimal locations, and I enjoyed that for a long while. Eventually, you do get sick of the awful tasks.
I've been using konar for my last few tasks due to the fact that she gives 18 pts/task, however this opened my eyes a bit and I won't be using her until I unlock hydras
Just do krystilia for the juicy 25 points per task plus Larry keys are 1000 times better
Whenever I hit a milestone , I try one task from konar. If I have to skip it , I instantly go back to my regular. As much as you can get bad tasks. You can also get some really good ones where you have to do nothing out of the normal and can cannon it as usual too. You just also get some keys while you’re at it
Wilderness slayer is amazing at any level
>larran keys > brimstone
>dedicated slayer cave all in multi
>said slayer cave all below 30 wild (seed pod escape)
> access to wildy slayer drops in cave
>double clue drop chance w/wealth i (currently costs 90k to make from stratch)
> seed pod absolutely btfo pkers

>access to wilderness weapons with the best dps in the game, viggoras and craws bow, both stack with slayer helm

I agree with everything you said, pure truth. Except for when you said jellies in the catacombs is a bad task, that is some siiiiiiick range or mage xp and the task goes by so quick. Constantly spawning elites and rune item drops along with death, chaos and blood runes to help with bursting/barrage costs
I recently learned jellies in catacombs are S tier, I will take the L on that one my man

I received basilisks at the Prison and I have received the Jaw twice by using Konar. That is 2 jaws at 102 kc :P
So basically Konor assigns tasks in a certain location and u can't kill monsters anywhere else but other Slayer Masters assign a monster you can kill anywhere correct?
Yep. All other masters (besides wildy tasks) assign tasks where you can kill any variant you like. There are some really cool variants too, like demonics for black demons or vorkath for zombies. But Konar requires you to kill the monsters in a specific area. No XP or kill credit toward the task by killing the assigned monster anywhere else.
100% agree with literally every single thing said in this video, across 2 accounts Iron and Main, you literally stack points till 95 and skip for Hydra tasks, Konar is actual unadulterated horse shit and the keys aren't even worth it for Ironmen let alone mains.

While I agree with most of what you're saying, the one Konar task you keep using as an example (abyssal demons in the abyss) is actually one of the tasks I don't mind because you can grind that out at Sire.
Granted, I haven't been using Konar for quite some time. Will likely only be going back for hydras once I have 95 and can be bothered to deal with them. Just saving up points at Duradaddy to fish for smoke devil tasks once I hit 93.

Im lazy as fuck. Sometimes i dont want to pick a spot to do my slayer task. I use Konar when im feeling extra lazy or just want a change in environment. As you said, OSRS is all about playing your way, and having more unique slayer masters helps facilitate that.
My favourite Konar task is 170 brutal blue dragons in the catacombs
Fuck a Brimstone key, I go konar every 10 tasks for a hydra task, If i dont get hydra i'll skip until its a bearable task in a decent area. Takes 30 seconds.
Totally agree, Brimstone keys are not worth it and Duradel needs to be able to assign hydra's!
the brimstone key is what keeps me motivated to level slayer, its a massive income for my low level poor ass, that might change later on but for now konar is brilliant. The value of brimstone keys adds ~1k gold to any monsters average drop value
DuraDad should give hydra tasks!!
IMO they should also nerf the regular loot a bit if you can get hydra tasks from other masters. The idea with only being able to get them from Konar is they’re meant to be pretty rare tasks and forces you to burn slayer points or Turael skip for a high-reward task. If you’re getting them from Duradel where you don’t have to skip nearly as many tasks, it would be pretty OP as-is
Weighting them much lower at Duradel would also work to help balance it a bit. You’d still go to Konar if you’re trying to rush Hydra for the uniques, but you could still occasionally get a task passively from Duradel

Yep. Konar is such a waste of time even on an iron. If you want points, do wildy. For slayer xp - nieve/Steve. For cash over time - duradel. To get a specific task - turael skip then use master with highest % for the task you want. Never understood Konar-stans

I’ve been using Konar for every 10th task since my 30th task and I’m now on task 270. While some of her tasks really do suck, I like that the specific location assignments encourage me to become acquainted with new locations I haven’t explored yet. I’ve only had non-cannonable tasks 7 out of 25 times with her, so usually (72% of the time so far for me) it ends up being a nice normal task that gives more points and brimstone keys. If you do do Konar tasks I suggest making sure you have Steel dragons on your blocklist, maybe it’s just me, but most of my non-cannonable tasks were steel dragons in catacombs of kourend, so now I have them blocked. I’ve had some exceptionally amazingly easy Konar tasks too, like 15 mutated zygomites in Zanaris, twice, and 15 black dragons in Brimhaven, which were so fast it’s like I was doing a Mazchna task while boosting for points.
i enjoyed doing konar for a few number of tasks but after i got the gist of her tasks, i hated her. her tasks became repetitive and most of the locations were nowhere near a bank or prayer altar and i had to use teleport tabs. i quit konar after she assigned iron dragons in brimhaven like 3 times.

Once she sent me to the brimhaven dungeon twice in a row or something and I literally haven’t gotten a task from her since. Cannot be fucked. Some of the locations are just cancer to get to compared to “click slayer ring, cave, click cannon, click monster.”
I pretty much agree with you. I used to only do konar because I was an afk scaper prior to the slayer grind and would only stay in one spot on skills til 99. Konar forced me to experience other areas of the game and monsters. I got sick of her though at 96 slayer and now use just duradel.
Konor is the best SM for Hydra tasks, and if you have a lot of points to skip tasks.. If I run low on points I'll go back to Duradel, but I have gained so much passive loot from Brimstone Keys that I can't ignore them at this point. Kalphite, Hellhounds, and Ankou are examples of some sh*tty but quick tasks that still yield me Brimstone Keys to make it worth.

I used nothing but konar till I unlocked dura, konar is not as good as some people like to make her out to be honestly fuck them keys, still did it tho lol
i agree it makes no sense that nieve/steve and duradaddy cant assign hydra, its literally the ONLY task that only she can assign (i checked).
i would love to see them do an unlock for lets say 500 points for them to assign it, and if you still want to incentivize people to use konar then just give konar's task for hydra a higher weight then duradel and nieve. problem solved!
people can then chose to either do harder tasks/use more points skipping at konar, or do regular slayer at duradel for a lower chance of getting hydra.
there is no downside here.

I was doing konar slayer task without skipping them and that was after dealing with the anxiety and frustration of dealing with steel and iron dragons in the karamja dungeon. jaja I see your points and yeah you are right shit task and all but konar brimstone keys are not that much of a hassle when it comes to the location of slayer task. I'm not cannoning every task but I don't mind using broad bolts and divine range potions to level up my range. also I'm doing clue scrolls as soon as I get them so I don't notice that much the locations of the task especially because I did a majority of my quest and can get anywhere with a tp or fairy ring.

I'm using dragon hasta at ToA; it seriously outperforms the whip at BaBa and Akkha. Konar also raises the possibility of an ironman having a dragon sword. Pre-zhasta, the only weapon that competes with those two is leaf-bladed sword.
I used to do nieve tasks a lot before i hit lvl 100 combat and i kinda liked her tasks. After i hit 100, i was skeptical about duradel as he is the highest slayer master and thought his tasks are gonna be really hard but to my surprise his tasks are awesome. you have so much flexibility on location, lvl of the monster and the variant. you have the option to choose between slayer xp or slayer points but with nieve it was only slayer xp. Duradel is now my favorite slayer master.

I used Konar from basically unlock to post 99 slayer. Green logged hydra and switched to duradaddy. And I didn't mind her task list all that much, I really didn't see much a difference between the lists, and I'd skip slightly more with Konar in return for a few extra points per task which roughly evened out I think. I could usually cannon the shit tasks and well I was still getting xp in my combat skills. But I was definitely more interested in Konar tasks once I could get hydra and lost interest when I green logged hydra. But that's probably because I burned out on hydra during that grind. Anyway, I won't say you're wrong about really only being relevant because of hydra and your 10th/50th tasks, but I still don't think her list is that bad.
Idk lol. I blocked bloodvelds long ago. Maybe I’m just lucky with Konar. But I like dragons. And I just got like 7 brimstone keys and 140 blue dragon task equaled over like 1.2 million gp. And I did it super fast tele to fally and repeat.
I would happily pay 1k slayer points and 5mil gp to have Duradel

Konar is good for two things.
1. Doing every Xth task from her, for massive point bonus. And yeah, as you said, doing every 10th task is insanity. Maybe 50th? But above that you should Konar the milestones if you remember.
2. The big one. Hydras. No other master assigns hydras. If you want to kill the alchemical hydra, you must be on task. So Konar is the only way to kill the boss. So Konar is the only way to get the dragon hunter lance and ferocious gloves, on an ironman. And on a main account, hydra can print you money.
But this is at 95 slayer. You will likely not be in the need of efficient slayer experience at 95+. And you will likely have a huge amount of slayer points, so you will just roll Konar skipping every task except Hydras. Or at the bare minimum only doing the easiest and fastest Konar tasks to get to the hydras, and skipping anything even mildly annoying.

Yoo I just did my first konar task last night for my 30th task then I dubbed back on my 31st and man let me tell you, I see no lies.
For me , konar was good until i unlocked duradel.
The keys gave me a bit more motivation to do these boring unrewarding early slayer lvls.
Now i do konar every 10th quest

im 99 slayer and did 1 konar task on my ironman. as soon as i had the level for hydra i went to konar and got a hydra task first try. got my leather and claw sub 100 kc LOL. used duradael ever since

I get average 5 keys a task unless I'm on my 50th or 100th task I swear they're 3 times as common as what they're saying

Konar’s great on paper, but is absolutely terrible.
I wouldn’t even do her on a 10 streak (larger bonuses are relatively good however), hydra’s a good task though, but until then, Don’t. Do. It.
I was never interested in wildy slayer, but seems really good both for exp and gp, as long as you’re got some chonkers for balls.

I like nieve just as much however, sometimes the avg task lines up better with what exactly I want to get at the time but 90% dura 2% konar 8% nieve there you have it and 100% reason to remember his name.
I went to Konar as soon as I hit 95 slayer. After spending over 1k points for a Hydra task, I can say with certainty I’m never going back there (spooned first hydra task thankfully) unless I want to finish the ring.

That makes sense with Duradel having the slayer cape. Why wouldn't he be able to assign Hydra. Maybe it could be unlocked once you get 99 slayer?

Wait why only kill shamans in the slayer only caves? The temple is just easier isn't it? Cause the explody bois only hit 1 tile away and once you know the safe spots you can run between the same 4 squares and never get hit or jumped on.

I've never had an issue with Konar and keys pay out good. Sometimes 800k for a task. Just block Drakes and you're sweet.

Konar is the only good one. I make 2M every 3 tasks if you high alch and collect. You just have to buy the boosts with points and skip on occasion.
