This guy is the definition of the goat I with there where more fourwheeler content creators like this this guy doesn’t stop pushing out great content!
Man, you made my night! Thank you for the support and for watching my videos 🤘
He deserves more subscribers I have seen channels not even close to the quality and attention to detail and they have alot more subscribers we need to help and get his name out there I could watch this for hours.
@@USMC-1911 I appreciate you man; thank you.
@@USMC-1911 yeah like that clueless 2vintage,with 200k sub. I tell his subscribers in the comments to go to Mikes channel if they really want to learn. Tell all my xc friends too about him
@@johnbruzzi4381 I watched only ONE of 2vintage's videos in the past and it was a video of him getting a dirt bike running. I don't remember which video it was though. But in the process he saw some rust on the front brake rotor, sprayed some WD-40 on it to "fix" the problem and then complained about the bike not stopping, saying he could have killed himself because the bike wouldn't stop. That one video showed me how much of a clueless dink he is. But luckily I ended up finding Mike's channel in the process after leaving that train wreck. So it's really a win-win.
The problem with the view count is that Mike does stuff correctly and by the manual, which is what I like. But not many people like that as it's not entertaining to them. Because of past auto-body training if I don't have the resources or space to do something correctly I just don't do it at all. I may not be a professional nor have I done it in years, but I sure as heck don't want my name tied to botched work. 2vintage on the other hand is a bumbling fool who pretends to know what he's doing all the while setting fires on the way and breaking what he's attempting to fix. Which is better for entertainment purposes hence him having more viewers.
Comparing the viewer count is like comparing products, Mike's viewer base is small but the quality of his viewers is like a finely baked pizza made by hand costing $35 a pie, where-as 2vintage is along the lines of a frozen Tombstone pizza costing $2. It's there in a pinch and sort of tastes like pizza but there's no comparison. Sorry for making anyone hungry in the process. :)
If only you knew how much ive learned from you since i began watching your video. You inspired me to start a fresh new build for 2022. I haven't touched a quad since 2016 and you inspire me to get back in the game. Keep doing what your doing!
If only you knew how fulfilling it is to hear this comment; I'm glad I could inspire you to get back in the game and do your own build 🤘🤘🤘 Thank you for supporting and good luck with your build!
@@MichaelSabo The knowledge I have gotten from watching your videos got me a job at a small engines shop. I wanted to thank you for the knowledge that you share and the time you take to make your videos.
@@Logan-tf6nk you're welcome man; it makes me really happy that I can pass some of my knowledge along to you; congrats on the new job!
When the top nut doesn't work, break it free by the bottom nut. You can apply more torque to it. Builds looking good so far. That aluminum brightener is also the shiz nit. It's probably what brought the cases back to the blasted finish so well.
Was about to comment that, I’ve actually never seen anyone do it from the top nut. That was new for me 😂
@@hunterj2253 Yeah me too mate, but I think Mick tightened em up together with his rattle gun first.
This guy needs many more subcribers than he actually has, a lot of these youtubers don't have many subscribers or views despite how good their content is, well done mike!
Wow man, thank you for saying that; that's a huge compliment!
I would have never thought of using drillbits to save dowels from crushing… thats a neat trick
Awesome video man! I think we can all appreciate that there are people like you out here fixing/building sport quads day in and day out and keeping them alive! 👏🏼
Thank you for watching and for the feedback man!
Reducing the weight of an quad really requires serious thought and consideration on what are you willing to compromise. I learned a lesson about this the hard way. Back in the 1990's, I used to ride and race xc mountain bike in California. This was a period of time when aftermarket parts flooded the market and advertising was so appealing. Well, like a fish, I was drawn to reducing the weight of my bikes to gain advantage in handling and energy, but found the experience to be a bit on the life threatening when parts just break with no indication of failure. I'm not a big guy (5'7" 145 lbs) but I destroyed a lot of very expensive parts every month. Granted, it is possible to reduce considerable amount of weight without sacrificing strenth and durability, it just takes research.
Oh man! This is what I'm trying to avoid; some of the stuff, such as the hubs, could be taken down even further but I stopped at a midpoint in hopes (somewhat calculated by material and strength factors) that they will still be durable. Time will tell and I'm going to be checking constantly during and after every ride to ensure things aren't fracturing/failing. Thank you for the info and sharing your experience man!
Michael, I just enjoy seeing how analytical and creative approach you have to rebuilding quads. There are risks in deciding what we do in just everything we do, but more important is learn as much as we can the mitigate those risks to an acceptable level. Im getting old (thought I would never say that) but I am still a thrill seeker and competitor at heart. Right now I am restoring a TRX450er to race xc this season considering that I have never raced quads before, but I wanted a change from racing two wheels in the woods. Being in my late 50's, I still find competing much safer than free riding with friends.
@@j.need4qlife483 could not have said it better; happy to hear you're still getting after it; hopefully I'll be at your side joining a race myself soon!
Dude you are a wizard I feel privileged to be able to learn from you 👊
This is actually a huge compliment to be called a wizard; thank you Brice 🤘
Getting rid of the rotating mass in the tire is the best part of the weight savings. More power to the ground making it even easier to wheelie.
100%, even though that could be bad in a racing sense, the goal is fun and I love a machine with a light front end!
Pete Hager and Mike Sabo are the only videos I watch when I get back home from a long day of work.
No one on this app creates content as good as him for four-wheelers. I’ve learned so much from this man and right now he is the best out there. This guy is amazing at what he dose and always makes me pumped for the next video.
Wow man, awesome compliment; thank you so much!
your prep work, your cleaning metho, its amazing! looks like its always new parts!
With the 2 nut trick, you should use the bottom nut to back out since it has the top nut holding it in place.
I may try this next time; thank you for the tip!
I really like the fact that you take the time to clean everything thoroughly and plane all the surfaces. Drives me nuts to watch somebody tear something down and then just put it back together without cleaning anything or fixing anything or taking the time to make it right ...
I appreciate you appreciating that haha; I feel like most people just RTV to the max to fill in any imperfections lol
Man this whole series so far is so awesome. I really love the weight savings and the attention to detail ( like in all your builds). Cant wait for the end of this project. Really love ur videos man
I appreciate the love man, glad you're enjoying the series!
Shoutout from Phoenix Arizona built my Yamaha blaster with you lol well not literally but had you on the tv while I rebuilt my engine thanks for these dope ass videos bro fr saved me countless headaches
I’m really liking the build so far! I have a KDX220 that I trail ride with. Can’t wait for the video on how banshee cylinders are made!
Makes me wanna get into racing and buy the best stuff big inspiration love building fourwheelers even tho it's time consuming but very worth it for the last final product great work man keep it up 💯
Michael wanted to show some love, i love your videos, love to do the work you do, you always put alot of tips in your videos whats actualy very helpful and awsome how you discribe how you thungs what tool you use or what ever,
Keep it up🙌❤
And btw love the yamaha built's the yz125 love to watch
I really think you're going in the best direction with this build to get the best performance for all around riding. The improvements to the porting along with the suspension upgrades, weight savings and anti vibe will make a huge difference in your speed on track and trail not to mention cut down on your fatigue. You will definitely be faster in the tight twisty and rough stuff. Good job on the color scheme and graphics as well. As usual I'll be glued to your build 🤘🏼😎
As usual, Mike’s attention to detail is amazing, I can’t wait to see this one done! I liked the banshee before now I’m really stoked on it! That tire looked like the rotor out of a rotary motor 😂
Dude it really did!!
Still watching the video, but just wanted to say a 1 hour banshee video has brighten my day! Just been a crappy day, tried getting some footage for my channel and broke my RC before I even turned the camera on smh
Brightens my day to hear this dude. Sometimes that happens man, getting the right footage can be a pain in the ass lol. Hopefully you get your RC up and running for some great footage dude 🤘
@@MichaelSabo gonna order some upgrades so that'll be cool at least lol. Just hard to stick to a schedule on CZcams when juggling a full-time job. I watched all this video before I even started watching street outlaws
Loving this build, and the longer videos. Keep the good times Rollin. (Literally) 👌
I appreciate the feedback Chandler, thank you!
@@MichaelSabo Bro, you should be milking some Banshee merchandise, I know I'd be all over it. Lol.
This guy is the best he is comedic and knows what he is doing this is who is hogging all the women
Bro this is awesome, you got me laughing over here 😂
I love how you're covering the difference between other riding disciplines and XC racing. In XC we add weight for reliability for the abuse. I love this project and have been following on Instagram too.
I appreciate this feedback; I try to mention things like that because none of these products are necessarily bad or too heavy; it all depends on the application.
@@MichaelSabo you're doing great bud. Wish I could do vids as good as you.
Hey mike just a tip. Use the bottom nut to loosen the stud rather then the top. Use that box end of the wrench on the lower nut. It grips the stud very well.
Content is 🔥 sabo seems like such a cool ass down to earth guy but ridiculously smart about four wheelers, engines, designing, fab work etc. Dude is just a f****** beast and I've fallen in love with this channel.. talks to us like we are literally right there with him ik it sounds weird but that rally makes me feel a part of the work.. thanks Mike. Keep it coming💯🎯‼️
As long as your enjoying the project, that’s all that matters, great work, keep the videos coming!👍🇺🇸
Thank you William!
Weight saving is why I am here !👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome Mike! I love my beadlocks but watching this has me wanting to run some regular wheels on my warrior. It'll feel like an extra 5 hp gain lol. Good vid as always! 🇺🇸🤘🏼
Michael, you are the man, I pray the future brings you good fortune and a shit ton subs!
Haha love the addiction with weight reduction you got. Glad I waited for this series to end before I binged through them, keep up the good work.
"or you can wash your parts In rockstar that works to" 😂😂😂 hilarious . Good video !!!
Been waiting for this! Thanks for the build content and great info!
Thank you for watching bro!
Absolutely love these videos. Inspired me and my friend to start up a channel for working on bikes and quads. Just need the time👊🏻
Looking slick man!!!! Love the work!!!! Big inspiration🙌🙌🏆🏆
I appreciate it man, thank you for watching 🤘
I can’t wait to see the banshee in action and keep up the good work. Love the content!
Wow sweet way to go your going in the right direction with your weight on the quad
Great video! I recently picked up a banshee and have been burning your videos up. Love the content 👍🏼
For all the kids out there, you can also use your sister’s tooth brush. Totally works fine.
haha, yah you can also use her bra attached to monkey bars/swing set to shoot out tangerines , ( put the tangerines in the cups and pull like hell ) like I did about 40 years ago, it was the coolest slingshot.
@@ricardoguerra9411 i cant stop laughing 😂
Dude this is the greatest comment of all time 😂
Dude absolutely killin it!!!! You really do put out great content your videos are super helpful. 👌
Cant wait to see you build mike
Don't remember if you did when it was built but I recommend adding grease to those dowels. Makes removing way easier. I was told a long time ago the saying "if you love it lube it".
People are going to want to build one now. Trick changes/choices! Can't wait to see it in action. Curious for Part 4. Always wanted YFZ350. Went for 450 way back when
Thank you man; 450s are a great time too!
Really digging this build bro, cant wait to see it running !
Great video mate! It'll be interesting what all the weight savings is gonna do to the performance of your banshee. I reckon it's a great idea. With your graphics & beautiful bloke's bling it's gonna be totally sick!
The weight reduction stuff is not getting outa control its exactly what the viewer on this channel need. Keep up the nice work. Best rgds
i recently started a job mounting tires... we get 3 10 inch tires compressed into about a foot. We use a kerosene torpedo heater to get them to expand to near normal size for mounting. a cheetah bead seater can also be useful ;)
Dude I've used one of thos tire guns!!! I thought it was called a "cheater" bead seater lol
@@MichaelSabo lol, maybe the Chinese version...
Like always, quality content video, thats crazy how many lot of weight you loose with so many little things.
Little by little but its worth the time and money, thats your goal and i think its enough to think its important.
You Rock !!!!
Thank you bro! I can't wait to see the end weight loss
So happy u uploaded sick build 💥💥💥💥💥
Loving the banshee build so far!
Interesting build. Had a banshee with a Paul Turner motor. Sick bike, beat me up in the trails. Ltr-450 build would be cool, about the only one you haven't done yet. Keep up the good work!
I love this project dude. And the video dropped at the perfect time. My mental health has been in a bad place because of some stuff going on in my life and these is the perfect escape. Btw, I sent you a message on Instagram to share my quad that you inspired me to finish. Thank you for the killer content dude!!!
Great video as usual! I'm excited to see what the final weight is!
Great video Mike cant wait to see it when its all together. Hope your shoulder is healing good brother
I love the prep and precision. Keep it up man. 🤘🤘
Thank you Christian!
Get a bottom tap or you can make one by cutting a groove in a couple sides of one the old studs with your dremel to chase those threads...works good and you dont have to worry about breaking the case with tapered end of regular tap.. Looks good keep it up!!
Another amazing vid bro, I must say the percentage meter on the breaks is a nice touch makes me not mind the ad/sponsor part atall , (which I know has to be done its how CZcams works) , also I have never worked on a quad before I race supermotos, but I’m hooked on your Chanel, live to watch your builds and I have fallen In love with these four wheeled beasts 🤟🏻,keep up the brilliant vids dude much love from all of us in the UK 🤟🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
this thing is gonna be awesome in black can't wait for part4
Awesome work man! The editing is hilarious 😆👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 now I feel my basically stock banshee extremely heavy 🪨🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️👍🏻
Cant wait man, I am on edge for this build
🤘🤘
Cool video man. I did the same thing as far as using a scale to weigh parts with a street legal drag truck.
loving your vids man, keep them coming, and i'll keep on liking!!
you deserve more subs, the editing, speaking, and teaching is so good bro. hope you get over 1 mil subs soon
Being in the street bike roll racing world. Saving weight is everything. Also you should get a greaseable pivot bolt for your swingarm.
I was going to do a grease mod to the OEM one but the billet is not hollow like OEM; great idea but I'd be afraid to hollow out the billet one for strength reasons; it will be anticized to the max on installation!
Mike I've been waiting for this video to come out and again you absolutely killed it keep up the great work man I really appreciate your content and how much effort and time you must put into it!
Thank you for waiting and for watching man, these comments mean a lot 🤘
@@MichaelSabo you're the one putting the time and effort in it means a lot to me to be able to watch such great content! Never mind that you reply back that just shows how good of a guy you are like always keep up the great work man always looking forward to next one
As you were grinding that gasket I was wondering if there was a reason it was like that lol. Great content and always fun to watch.
Waiting on the next video already sick primo progress 👌🏻🔥
Thank you for following along bro!
"For a second i thought my nuts were never gonna work again" 🤣🤣
Another great video! I was looking forward to this all day !!!
Thank you for waiting and I'm glad you liked the video!
Glad the new wheels are lighter. I like the aluminium swingarm pivot bolt. That's trick.
Wonder how the minus 1 swinger will do. That's my plan on my banshee. Like to see more trail banshees. Don't see them out anymore
Man you're a really good engine builder, your voodoo banshee looking good..
Thank you Bobby, I appreciate that!
Hell aye!! I had my snacks ready 🤙
Michael sabo is my idol. I don’t have enough money to buy stuff like this. I saved up for 3 years and doing side jobs to buy my crf450r. Cant wait to see what other videos you please me with
Your videos are awesome it helped me a lot to fix my quad
I'm glad I could help you fix your quad man! Thank you for watching!
Man that parts washer looks really good for someone like me who won't be using it all the time. May have to get one.
Dude my girl got me one and it's saved me tons and tons of time. I wash everything in it except front and rear fenders and frame. Everything else will work. Big stuff like swingarm u gotta be careful or just put a Towle under it, since the part hangs over it can drip liquid on ur table. Invest!!!
Yeah man in Supercross we do major weight savings even the bolts gets drilled the centers out. Some are changed to titanium but only in places where we’re wanting more or less flex through the frame lol so no man I 100% believe in weight savings. My personal bike weighs 28 pounds less then factory and when you get into the factory bikes, works bikes there insane! So good luck man!
careful with those lugnuts, aluminum lugs are prone to stripping the internal threads. to save weight possibly titanium lugnuts?
Those rainbow looking nuts on the table are titanium; I have faith in these aluminum ones because they're made for quads by a reputable company; time will tell I guess.
@@MichaelSabo looking forward to see how they hold up!
I have the same and they are totally fine, used on many pro quads as well!
@@MxShee awesome to hear this feedback bro!
My buddy used aluminum lugs on a 400hp drift car. On and off with a impact. Never a issue. 3 years straight
Dude love the content I'm a new subscriber been watching for the last month love your work can't wait to see how it turns out if you ever run into a four-wheeler that's four wheel drive for really cheap that needs completely redone and you don't want it let me know my son wants to build one keep up the good work God bless
Hey John, thank you for subscribing; I'm glad you're enjoying the content! I'm not usually scouting for 4x4's but I would keep my eye peeled on facebook market place and craigslist for a deal for your son!
Can't wait to see that 8-200hp increase give or take 2-14hp. :) Love the content. Thanks for taking the time. I know it takes infinitely longer to film your work vs just doing it.
Oh my 😮💨 I think imma get one of these hopefully
Absolutely killing it bro, watching from Australia and love riding cross country on my kfx 450
Yes, Vapor Blasting seals the pores in the metal to help prevent corrosion and helps to keep the dirt from "soaking in" so to speak ...
This would totally make sense because evidently, it sure did clean up nicely; thankyou for the info bro 🤘
I hope this Shee will be trail worthy. It's bad ass you're trying to make it great for the trails. After this I want to see a dedicated sand build. I've been modifying mine for years and it's nuts on the dunes. Oh ya. You're still invited to Oregon to ride the best coastal dunes in America!
I still say you have everything to make a wicket Netflix series wicket content man! Binge watching since I found your Chanel entertaining and educational keep it up!!!
Dude its just crazy how you figure somthing out every time for every problem you're faced with. There is always a solution its just a matter of balancing money and time.
A trick Michael, if the top keeps coming loose, use the bottom one cause its only going to tighten more into the top nut, and if more leverage is needed, double wrenches works great as well
you should look into ppf your plastics to keep them fresh, I’ve only seen people do it on dirt bikes but would be cool to see on a banshee it also makes the plastics shiner
Great stuff !!!
light weight is really good when your stuck in a deep mud hole you will be happy you did that
I have actually thought about this; I know on the sand, it helps keep you on top and not digging and fighting the sand
@@MichaelSabo i have 2 4 wheelers the grizzly just has a winch in the front
but i have another one that is a sports quad that i made go really fast they both weigh the same at 700 lbs
the grizzly has maybe 55 hp
but the other one has about 115 hp
it will throw mud about 60 feet or more haha but ground clearance
i thought i would be sc_ued if i got stuck in the mud so i bought a wench and wired it for the front and back with ski jack plugs bought some small trailer receivers and welded then on the front and back to the frame
for the wench i welded a hitch to it fits front and back just pull a pin
as long as there is a tree or another quad there i am ok just have to push a button to get unstuck
I love the rockstar shot out there when you were cleaning the cases. if you haven't yet, try the sugar free fruit punch it's my favorite so far.
Diggin the weight loss stuff. Actually pretty interesting 🤔👍
“Or the toothbrush you currently use like I’m using”😂 great Video!
Lol, thank you Brett!
"That's right bitch my nuts worked" 🤣🤣🤣 Brother you quad is coming out amazing 🤩😍
😂😂😂 Thank you Andrew 🤘
That gas tank cover with the black plastics is gonna look nicee
Oh yea man 100%!
Can’t wait for the engine build!
Coming soon!
Hey man you can use jb weld to fill in the void to port match! Use it all the time when finger porting Yamaha 701 jet ski motors, have a engine that I built 12 years ago still going strong with the jb weld. Look up Erickson machine and performance on CZcams, his case porting videos show how to use jb weld and then how to create a mechanical advantage for the jb weld so it doesn’t come free. Just a thought man. Love the vids. Keep it up!!!
learn alot from you quality work only bad part is when i see your buiding material i buy more lol
Mike I love your videos Keep doing what you’re doing
