    Hello sir. If Im a newly graduated student with NO prior experience but already passed my part 1 and part 2 of amc examination, can i apply for an internship position or does that boost the chances of me getting an internship position without prior experience ?

    hi there mate. I’m going to graduate a UK GMC accredited medical school july 2025 (university of bristol). does this qualify me for the competent pathway? I was looking at applying for internship when I stumbled across this video. I mean this is a curious sense but I just talked to the internship office for WA and they said most intern positions dont get filled?! I would like to work in Brisbane Melbourne of Perth. I understand ud likely recommend me stay in UK for F1 PGY1 in the UK but please let me know your thoughts.

  • @tekenakaribiwhyte1948

    Thank you Dr Anthony for your videos, they help a lot. What of an IMG who graduated in the West Indies but is married to an Australian and now residing here in Australia. What advice would you give that medical graduate in terms of internship in Australia since he is now domiciled in Australia?

  • @user-te1gz3qy8g

    English taught MBBS program from China is 5 years + 1 year of compulsory internship. Most of the students only graduate after the completion of total of Six years. So, are we supposed to do other year of internship after passing the AMC exams?

    • @CareerDoctor
      @CareerDoctor  Před 18 dny

      If you have already done an internship you don't need to repeat it here.

    Hello sir,
    I have a question regarding being a resident medical officer in Australia as a foreigner medical graduate.
    I got my doctor of medicine degree from Thai Medical School. After graduation, I worked for 14 months: 3 months in the emergency department and 11 months in pediatric ICU in 2 different hospitals in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
    >> I wonder if it is considered as doing an intern year in the Australian medical context or do I need to rotate in every major departments like OB GYN and surgery too?
    Do I need to provide any documents proving that I did my internship year when applying for registration in Australian along with the MCQ and clinical exam?
    Thank you so much and I hope to hear from your response.

    Thank you! Helps a lot! May I ask you one question about the competent pathway? I mean, I have watched some videos about using the GMC (UK) and then change the UK license into Australia one. They said it will be faster and cheaper for IMGs to take the competent pathway . Do you think it is feasible? Hope to your kind reply😆

      Generally these are considered one and the same in most places. The Medical Board wants to see proof of internship.

    I graduated oversease but did my clinical rotations in Australia before graduating. What is my chances of getting an internship place?

    • @CareerDoctor
      @CareerDoctor  Před 2 měsíci

      Assuming you did not do an off-shore course like Monash Malaysia you are still classified as an IMG and have very little chance. Your Australian rotations might boost things a bit from the employers perspective.

    Sir, as a medical graduate not holding a licence to practice/registration in the country of origin or the country of graduation, can I apply for limited registration in Australia after passing Amc mcq exam part 1 and completing one year postgraduate internship?
    Thank you.

    • @CareerDoctor
      @CareerDoctor  Před rokem

      Hi You can't apply for registration without a position offer. In theory if you don't need a license in your country to work as a doctor then you should be able to apply. You may however find that employers are a bit hesitant. Also the Medical Board will require a Certificate of Good Standing which you won't be able to produce.

    • @mercydavid7924
      @mercydavid7924 Před rokem

      @@CareerDoctor Thank you for your response sir.
      My situation is that I'm an Indian citizen but graduated from the Philippines. Both countries require a registration/licence to practice. But in the Philippines, only Filipino citizens are given the registration and in India, I haven't got the registration yet.
      So, from what you mentioned above, does it mean that I cannot apply for limited or even provisional registration in Australia without a certificate of good standing, even if I get a job offer (luckily) and pass AMC 1&2? In simple words, is it a mandatory requirement or are there any alternatives for it?
      Thanks in advance!

      Hi Somali as I have discussed in this video the Australian internship systems is really for Australian graduates. Its best if you work at least a year in your own country and then apply for an RMO type position.

    • @CareerDoctor
      @CareerDoctor  Před 5 měsíci

      ECFMG only allows you to sit the USMLE Part 3. And you also need to get 2 years experience in an ACGME program. I suggest you watch through my other videos on standard pathway and competent authority pathway.
